Cereal is the worst for long term satiety. 20-30 grams of protein at each meal helps me feel full. Plus I don't eat 15 hours from dinner to breakfast daily and then have 3 meals and maybe a snack in the 9 remaining hours. That also helps me feel full for my 1550 calories a day.

You can eat sauerkraut and drink Kombucha or fermented tea which is very low carb because the fermentation burns up the sugar. The sourer the kombucha, the less carbs it has. (I make my own with a grape culture.) Oh and natural apple cider vinegar with the "mother." I'm not keto though - just low carb <100.

I'm trying to man up and just drink my coffee black - who needs an extra hundred (or two or three) calories everyday. If I have to have something in my coffee, I wait till my afternoon cup.

Spaghetti squash has the least flavor of any of the winter squashes. I'm low carb, so I like to fry my previous steamed winter squash in coconut butter and/or butter with onions and garlic like it is hash browns. If you want flavor go to sweat meat or another winter squash - however that is higher in carbs and calories.

The problem is the government gives money (subsidies) to the people who grow the ingredients for junk food - corn and corn syrup being one of the worst. Stop farm subsidies!

Hi Ellemarie - this isn't a very active group. We mostly hangout here http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group I am sort of moderately low car - about 100 grams a day. Most of the folks in the low carb groups eat 100% grain and sugar free.

Exercise an hour or two before you break your fast (for under 24 hour fasts) because otherwise you will get too hungry. Personally I don't exercise during over 24 hour fasts (except maybe a slow walk) or for very low calorie diets because I don't have enough energy.

When I was dieting in March - eating about 1600-1800 calories a day - I averaged 100 grams of carbs a day. Very low calorie days were also very low carbs. Not much difference to now - but I am eating more fat and more protein and a little less carbs, 1600-1800 calories.

It does give an excellent analysis of combining fat and sugar - more addictive than heroin! Rats would rather eat cheesecake than anything else. I can relate.

I get terrible legs cramps from keto too, and I have been taking magnesium citrate for years. However, I've noticed if I take the magnesium in the evening instead of the morning, I do much better with the cramping.
