  • This is pretty much what I do: I enter the recipe into MFP, then after I make the recipe, I weight the entire finished product and decide how many servings I want it to be. Then divide the total weight by the servings, and ta-da, all done. I usually modify the name of the recipe after to include the weight of a serving.
  • This is a great thread. I copied the post of the girl on the treadmill with the guy checking her out from behind to a friend of mine. We were lamenting the length of our weight loss journeys yesterday. Challenge: embrace her mindset!
  • I agree, there are plenty of dvd's that you could follow. Instead of buying a treadmill, maybe get a rowing machine, that is more of a full body workout than the treadmill. I also am a full time mom and the gym just never worked for me. I get up at 5am to get my workouts in because after work there is too much school work…
  • Great progress! Keep it up!
  • Great news! Keep up the good work!
  • You look great! I started Level 1 on Tuesday but worried it might not be challenging enough. I think I will keep it up now!
  • I'm in! Going on a beach vacation on 11/2, so I NEED to lose 5lbs by then! Starting weight: 172.2lbs Current weight: 164.0lbs Halloween goal: 159lbs Goal weight: 125-130
  • Do both! I alternate cardio and weights to get the best of both worlds. The weights definitely helped make everything tighter and look better while I still try to lose the weight. A woman at work was amazed that she and I weighed 3lbs different and I really feel that a lot of it was because I was tighter all around,…
  • For my birthday, I get my favorite cake from a good bakery (not some cheap, fluorescent cake from grocery store) and I eat it slowly, savoring every bite! Happy Birthday!
  • We like it grilled with skim layer of mayo on top to help seal in moisture. When finished, top with a piece of havarti cheese (allow to melt) and carmelized onions and bell peppers. Yum!
  • Bump, curious to see about your experience, although I know I wouldn't try it myself!
  • This is awesome! I love everything about it! Enjoy your trip, it sounds like you both will have a great time!
  • omg this was so funny!
  • To me a binge is when I don't try to stop and ask myself if I'm really hungry, I just go for whatever junk craving I am having. And I am too ashamed to log any of it.
  • Sounds like a great first race all around! Congratulations!!
  • Mine peaks in the 180's as well during cardio. I have Polar FT40 and I know there is a setting where you can have it beep if you're going over your max heartrate (or maybe it is 90% of your max). Whatever it was, it was annoying and I turned it off. I thought I read once that you take 220 minus your age and that is roughly…
  • I bake gluten free bread for my celiac daughter and got tired of needing 1 yolk + 3 whites (that's a lot of leftover yolk after a few loaves), so I have a big carton of Eggbeater type thing that I just started buying. I don't know how much more expensive it is but I'd rather use 100% of it than buy eggs cheaper and throw…
  • That sounds like me! Working mom (currently trying to survive tax season) of two girls, 5 and 3!
  • I have a Tanita scale at my house the does the BF% but I usually jump off before it has time to calculate. I recently switched the IPOARM so now I've got a spreadsheet going with my weight and measurements and tracking the Original, Military, Covert Bailey and scale BF% measurements and I average them. They fluctuate a lot…
  • I've had mine for three years now and haven't had any problems. When I stick to my diet and exercise regimen I lose weight, when I fall off the wagon, I gain. I lost about 45# after my 1st was born and after my 2nd I'm only down 15lbs, but I've been a lot less dedicated than I was the first time, so I wouldn't say Mirena…
  • I did Power 90 from end of July to end of October and loved it! It was a great way to get back into the routine of working out. I liked that Phase 1-2 was a short workout and I was able to make time for it in my schedule. I'm currently on Week 4 of the Power90 Master Series program and it is so much fun! I'm a Tony Horton…
  • I believe it! Maybe I'll stop putting off so much housework now. Hidden calorie burn beckons.
  • I am doing the Power 90 Master Series from Beachbody right now. It has about 5 dvd's that you go through and alternates weights and cardio. I really like it. Tony Horton isn't for everyone, but I enjoy some of his goofiness, it keeps the workout moving. The Sculpt and Sweat dvd's are 45 minutes, I start adding the other…
  • Hi! I am currently working through the P90 Master Series and plan on starting a P90X/Insanity hybrid on May 6. I've done about two weeks of Insanity but I hated the pace of it. So I thought I would back up and do Master Series (I did Power 90 in the fall) and get in better overall shape before going to that next level. I…

  • I'm in! Also sent a friend request!
  • I LOVE this post! This is exactly how I feel raising my girls and letting them be around me when I work out. Hopefully they will realize that exercise is a part of normal life and won't have to learn the habit in adulthood. And that picture is exactly how my work out last night worked except my three year old was walking…
  • I get up at 5:05am to workout and on the days I oversleep, I hate it! I am more sluggish during the day and start dreading doing the workout after work when there are a million other things going on and my daughters (5 and 3) try to 'help' me or follow the dvd - cute but DISTRACTING! Plus when I workout in the evenings I…
  • I would definitely invest in a HRM. I got one about 3-4 weeks ago and it is one of the best things I've bought. I bought a Polar FT40 from Amazon for about $98. Polar website has them for $180. I love having a more accurate way to measure calories burned. And I like to see how pushing myself further during the same workout…
  • If you know the calories you are burning during a strength training session, from a HRM, you can enter your own exercise. It will let you put a description, duration and calories burned. I think it shows up under My Exercises this way.
