Have you had your iron (including ferritin) checked?

so based on age, height, and weight, the guideline was 1500. But you (arbitrarily) decided to aim for 1300, and frequently you're only eating 1000. There's a massive difference between 1000 and 1500. And 1000 is not enough to sustain health. You may not be eating enough. It seems counter-intuitive but undereating can be…

I agree that mfp seems to overestimate calorie burns. My steps are calculated by my iphone and it syncs to mfp automatically, but when I go for a run I go by the old "100 calories per mile" rule. I've actually measured this in the past with a heart-rate monitor, and 100 calories per mile was pretty accurate for me.

based on what?
-
What calorie goal does MFP give you for your activity level?

easy test: the colour of your urine. If you're dehydrated it will be dark. If you're well-hydrated it will be light/clear. If you feel like you can't drink any more, you've probably had enough. ;)

what matters is not whether you've gone through the formality of marriage, but rather the nature and strength of your relationship with the other parent. my sister and her boyfriend have been together for years and chose to have babies; they may never choose to get married, and that's ok. The babies have two loving parents…

North Vancouver, BC. I live just a short walk from ocean and mountains... love it! :)

seems to me the bounce would be the same either way. but as someone else pointed out, if you wear it on your head then the light goes wherever your eyes do (which is crucial if you're on trails!). one time a friend and I were hiking/running a dark mountain in the middle of the night. We each wore two lights: one on the…

in headlamps, you pretty much get what you pay for. A $20 lamp will do the trick, but if you want to light up a dark trail, you may want to pay a bit more. If you can, try it on in the store to see how it feels on your head.

breathe however you need to! don't worry about it. Your body knows the best way to get the oxygen it needs. ;)

I don't understand statements like this. ALL dating sites are the same, essentially. There are good people and bad people everywhere. I've tried a lot of sites and don't know what you mean by "proper" dating site. In fact, the sleaziest one in my experience was lavalife, and it's a paid site.
-
eharmony is the WORST dating site I have tried. they charge waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much and provide little value.

I love sushi too! but beware: tempura = deep fried cream cheese = high in fat mayo = extra cals white rice = high GI (but everything in moderation!) sauces are usually high in sodium (I can't even eat the miso soup... too salty!!) but if you get the simple rolls without all the fatty ingredients, it's great! low-cal and…

you look fabulous!! congrats!!

I agree with the others! I can see a big difference. I think it's harder to see it on yourself, because we are our own worst critics. Definitely take measurements.... I'm sure you've lost lots of inches!! Keep up the good work. You will see it soon!

had an off week and did not make my august goal. :( finished with 89 miles instead of 100. Will try again in Sept!
-
Why ask for advice then? One of your questions was how to avoid injury... and arbitrary time goals are a great way to get injured. ;) If you have a valid reason for choosing that goal then great, more power to you. But if not... then you're setting yourself up for problems. :/

on okcupid one time I got an email from a guy in his 30's who has a wife in her 70's. He was looking for a "sister wife". I don't know what about my profile made him think I'd be interested.

I think online dating in general sucks! lol I've tried a LOT of sites (pof, okcupid, lavalife, eharmony, match, and more) and it is the same story on all of them... you spend hours and hours weeding through to find someone good. But I've also tried speed dating, singles groups, clubs, and going through friends. Also…

You have to be willing to filter through a lot of crap to get to the good ones, but there are some good ones. Definitely check the setting that does not allow people to contact you if they're just looking for sex (it's in your mail settings page I think). The thing about POF is that it has the sheer numbers... and they say…

I personally didn't gain weight from the pill, but I have friends who say they did. Also that it causes other problems like acne. I think it always depends on the person, which pill, and other lifestyle factors. It makes sense, really, since how/what/why we eat is often hormonally based... so if our hormones are…

If you love walking, that's great! You just have to think of ways to keep changing it up (both physically and mentally). Walking to a destination is good, but also adding in some difficulty (do you have hiking options where you live? hills?). You can actually lose a lot of weight through walking and a good diet. If you…

I'm not an expert, but if it is something that you've been doing consistently for awhile, your body has likely adapted to the effort... which means it isn't going to have as much effect... so I would include it in lifestyle (make sure your lifestyle level is accurate!). Example: I was already active when I adopted my dog,…

I'm curious as to where you got the time goal. Is it based on previous race times?

Kids are natural runners with amazing form! The best bet is to let him decide how far, how fast, and how often he wants to go. You can encourage him and can support him by getting him good shoes to run in, and maybe run with him (or ride your bike beside him) and see if he wants to enter any short races (there are kids'…

My point is that sometimes we see things in our own bodies that no one else would see... we're hypercritical. ;) It's all perception.

wow, I expected from your description to actually see love handles in the photos... I don't see it. You look great!
