Hi Everyone- Leanne here (in CA, USA). Just finished a cleanse to get myself in a good spot to start on the program. Just had a baby, so it's rough to find time to work out, but it is just 30 minutes, right?? Someone asked about Shakology- it is much more tasty that many other shakes out there (also tried Vega and…

Congrats on your pregnancy!! Try not to stress- it isn't good for the baby. I'm at 24 weeks and get depressed every time I see my stomach and boobs (they're huge- ugh), but I know that even if going to the gym doesn't make a difference in the scale, I feel better and it's good for the baby: ) Keep at it, but don't beat…

Congratulations!! I'm 24 weeks and trying to keep it healthy (with #1). I started out about 20 lbs overweight, too. Definitely finding myself eating more than before, but adding healthy foods ( I eat eggs and more meat now). I'm also trying to do yoga every AM and 30' of cardio and some weights after work. Had gained 7 lbs…

Thx! That's a great idea! I'm just tired of nuts and trying to stick to low(er) sugar... Can you buy olive snack packs?

I think the "red flags" are actually normal, but she wants to walk through them with you. With age, it's absolutely normal for women to drop in estrogen (and estrogen derivatives: ex., estradiol) and testosterone. The drop in testosterone is why it becomes harder to maintain muscle mass, for example. So, your (relatively)…

Ditto SweetxCatastrophe- julianne zucchini and/or summer squash and cover w/ salt for 15' to pull out juices. then rinse off salt and pat dry w/a paper towel. heat or just cover w/ heated sauce! yummmm!

This is really interesting. I've just started a primarily Raw diet because I'm convinced that I've been eating too much animal protein- as you say- at the expense of carbs from fruits and veg, and I've been dealing with a lot of health issues that I think could be linked. Not planning to cut out everything- I like the…

I use a HRM and burn about 180-190. I don't turn the monitor off until my heart rate gets back to within 10-15 bpm of where I started though, so the total workout is usually a bit more (plus I walk my dog while things are coming back down). Hope this helps, and have fun!!

Thanks, everyone! I'll try going a week without my morning yogurt and see what happens... I've never been able to eat ice cream, whipped cream, etc and enjoy it. Maybe now I know why:wink: Have a great Memorial Day! dlj

Wow! This is exciting: ) My wedding is July 20. Been trying to lose, but something just wasn't clicking. For the past few weeks, though, things seem like they might have gotten back on track (fingers crossed!!)...Feel free to add me for extra motivation, if you like!! In any case, congratulations to all of you!! dlj

Yay!!! You're doing great! I love, love, love Jillian:love:

I drink tea all the time: black tea (loose leaf Ceylon or Darjeeling or Awake tea from Tazo), herbal teas (ginger tea from Yogi- they have lots of good combinations, too), rooibos, and Tulsi. i can't drink green tea, as it makes me feel nauseous. enjoy:drinker:

I've tried both, and I like Jillian's DVD better because it involves much less high impact moves. After BBL my knees killed me. And it is faster paced, so harder to do with proper form. Hope that helps!

I'm getting married in July, so highly motivated! I would love to lose between 15-25 lbs. Please let me know if there is still room for someone new to join! Thx! dlj

Good question! I hadn't really thought about this before. I guess it's 1) wanting something sweet to end each meal 2) not being able to just have one glass of wine and 3) working out in the AM. For 1) I've found a way to have an almond milk/protein powder "smoothie" if I really need something (or an apple if I can afford…

I can do about 4-5 proper ones or 20 knee ones...a bit pants, and definitely room for improvement. I'm in:happy:

Just starting a new low GI (essential low carb) program and trying to clean the tempting things out of my house. I think the most difficult thing will be yummy, seedy, whole wheat bread and wine. Love them both, but as one poster said: it's because of them, I got into this mess: ) Wish me luck!

Hi! I think what you've written gives several nice analogies and explanations about how our body uses fuel. I do have a question, though. Does anyone know why artificial sweeteners (and does this include Truvia, Stevia, etc?) increase our appetite? I'm a scientist, so OK with fairly technical explanations or references; )

Hi There! I love this one. I'm a little more advanced, but I still think she's great. Perfect pace for a beginner. http://www.amazon.com/Element-Am-PM-Yoga-Beginners/dp/B001AYWY68

I try to make low carb choices, but do have a few indulgences every now and then. For anyone who's interested, I just found these "Sonoma carb cutting tortillas" that are a wonder food in my book: taste nice, 60 cals, 11 carbs, 5g fiber, whole wheat...yummm. feel free to add me as a friend if you like- dlj
