  • If you season your salad well it doesn't need any dressing in my opinion. I usually just squeeze a lemmon on my salad and it taste great and for a girl like me, that was a shocker!!! They make all kinds of salad seasoning right now and Ms. Dash has the least amount of sodium. Try it, you may like it
  • If you wanna have chips Baked Lays are the best in my opinion. I not really a chip person not that I've weaned myself off of them but when I eat a sandwhich I gotta have chips so I reach for the Baked Lays and pop chips are okay.
  • Thanks for caring, I will
  • Way to go!!! I was down today because I've had a bad couple of days food wise and I feel like this weight will never come off because I'm working out staying within my calories (well, 85% of the time) but the scale is moving like a broken clock. But this was def a pick me up and point me in the right direction story. Thank…
  • Wow, I was just about to post a BIG Thank you to everyone who post success stories. They have and continue to be inspiring for me. Anytime I feel discouraged or mess up, I come to Success Stories and my entire outlook changes. So thanks again to the people of MFP who have overcome and not forgotten. Thank you
  • Keep it up!!!
  • If I'm reading your original post correctly, you weigh 281, but you're only eating 1200-1500 cals/day, and currently exercise 2.5 hours/day, but you are NOT eating exercise calories? If I've understood all this right, I think 1200-1500 calories is not enough. My advice would be to consult your doctor or a nutritionist for…
  • I usually put all my calories for the day in at one time so I can stay on track. I also work out before dinner so I notice after my first hour of working out I feel a little shaky and weak, some days I can barely make it. Since I take workout classes and I have a 30 min break in between I bring a snack like turkey or…
  • Thanks you guys, this was great advice. I plan to by the weight lifing book for women next week so I can start lifting. I don't know really where to start with this whole thing but I know I can figure it out. I'M SO EXCITED
  • WOW, this is an amazing transformation!!! Keep it up, you look great
  • Girl: Ciscely, Sydney, London (boy and girl), Nicole, Brooke Boy: Matthew, Jason, Issac, Nicholas, Jeremiah, Donavon, Jacob, Jackson Those are all names I would consider. As you may be able to tell my children are boys so I love thinking of boy names :-)
  • The lb lost may be a result of your previous week. It takes a burn of 3500 cals a week burn for 1 lb to show up. So you may have burned over 3500 cals Mon-Fri and what you did over the weekend may have not caught up with you yet. But now that you recognize that you had a bad weekend, you can work it off during the week and…
  • With the holiday season approaching he may be able to get a seansonal job. I understand what you mean. When my husband was going to school I was the only one bringing in income plus we had our first son but now that I look back it was all worth it. Hang in there and try to be creative. Also, get a Sam's or Costco…
  • Thanks ladies, this was great advice. Increasing my calorie intake is not something that I tried while working out. I do tend to freak out when I only eat 1200 cals a day so I'll do a little experiment to see how it goes. I knew I could count on my MFP families support and help
  • i personally cannot stand ground turkey. So if you didn't like it then you probably won't like it a different way. If your trying to replace ground beef, don't. Just cut back on dishes that require ground beef or use chicken instead (b/s chicken breast). Also, alot of people suggested using a leaner ground beef and that…
  • Thanks guys!!!! I will be taking an Epson Bath tonight and I did try to walk the hallway at work which helped a little but since I sit behind a desk I got stiff again. Now I'm just getting up and down to relieve some of that pain. I may be sore now but at least I know I got a good workout in :-)
  • I agree with most of everyone when they say "Don't plan cheat days". It wouldn't make any sense when your trying to wean yourself off of certain foods and develop a healthier lifestyle. As a new person just take it day by day and log your calories no matter what. As long as you stay active and continue to be mindful of…
  • This was too cute
  • Thanks, Ladies, This is all helpful info. I struggle so much with the balance. Sometimes I'm over in my sugar intake and sodium and the bad thing about it, I'm not a sweet eater which shows you how much sugar is in food that you don't prepare at home. Looking at all the advice I def have to prepare more foods at home,…
  • Thank you so much!! I would have never guessed that but I did get the "V" for Victory part right, lol.
  • Like others have said before my comment "You just have to make time". I'm a mother of three, 2 sons in football, 1 daughter in dance. I have a husband with a on-call schedule and I work full-time. I sign up at the Rec Center for as many fitness classes I can take. I take my kids with me if I have to and sometimes, I tell…
  • Wow, such a difference!! Thanks for posting this, great encouragement and congratulations. Keep it up
  • I have the same problem with my stepdaughter who came from a different country to the US. She was very "chunky" when she got here but now has slimmed down completely. I was worried about her at first because she wasn't eating her food and I wasn't for sure if she was eating her food at school or not. We gave her a drink…
  • I get tired of logging as well but I'm going to keep doing it. So far most people who has lost alot of weight used this method as a part of their success, so I'll be logging til I can't log no more
  • WHAT!!! Breakout Kings was cancelled. I hate when they do that
  • Anything w/ cheese and Chinesse is a fav as well
  • Ditto, I know your just venting but let her know how you feel. Vent to her she might surprise you, I know that is what I would want my hubby to do and he expects the same from me.
  • First off, I'm sorry about what happened and can relate to your pain. I think at one point in a women's life over 75% of women have experienced what you are going through right now. Your first feelings are anger then you feel like you were never good enough, betrayed and worthless. You've never felt these feelings before…
  • My mom name is Cynthia which is common where I'm from. My name is common/uncommon, Tamisha (Ta-me-sha) or Mesha for short, I don't know why my Dad didn't spell it with an "e". Although growing up I went to school with two girls who spelled theirs Tamesha. Guess I was the outcast ;-)
  • Is that gold of beige with the pink dress? if beige, find some wedges that are the same color or if gold some gold sandals would be great. I'm not to big on floral print dresses so the second dress is not my fave but black peep toe heels for the last dress would work ;-)
