Let me second (or third or whatever - cause I haven't read all of the replies)... the Moving Comfort Fiona. I'm a 40D and my Fiona really takes care of the bounce issue. (I just wear it... not anything else under it... no doubling)..and I do okay.

Black with splenda, usually...sometimes a creamer if I'm feeling like splurging... but always measured out so I know my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. ;) (Cause they do!)

My first half was last year in May.. and I also did one in Nov when I was recovering from bronchitis. Believe me, that one wasn't pretty!!! lol (Too bad too, the course was real flat... if I hadn't been sick I'm betting I would have had an awesome time.) 2:45:38 for the first one.... 3:07 something for the one with…

When I did weight watchers (had to stop due to finances... or lack.. lol)... I always wore the same outfit each week. Shoes off. At home... butt nekkid after the bathroom. ;)

nice! I'll have to bookmark your blog. I'm already tempted by that black bean soup recipe. mmmmmm....

Hey there... 5'6 lady here 217 lbs (so definitely bigger than I want to be, but less than my heaviest of 253.2) Anyway, my big goal is a full marathon.... the Marine Corps marathon! I will be following you and sending a friend request! :)

I LOVE this! Like the OP, I've been basically the same weight for the whole month... (well, -3.2, +1.6, +1.2, 0)..for an overall loss of .4

Heee! Love this!

I have to admit... I was intimidated (not scared, exactly) by weights. But the gym offered some free instruction, I took it and decided to get over myself. (lol) Granted I'm not lifting heavy (yet)...or doing strictly free weights, but doing a combination of machines and free weights (plus cardio on the treadmill, etc) I'm…

I like my bodymedia..and think its pretty accurate. As for wearing it on the arm... I don't even notice it anymore! That said I think the fitbit seems like a nice device too.

I definitely agree with training for further than 10, but that's just me... I had to know I could do the full distance when I trained for my first half. So one of my long runs ended up being 13.1 miles.... I went out too fast in the beginning and ran most of the first 8, then ended up doing more walking than running for…

Good advice..and I agree.. .you'll do fine. Its entirely possible to walk the entire 5K. If you want to add running in, you could just do your own run/walk intervals (like maybe run 1 min, walk 5 etc) or use the couch to 5K program which uses those type of intervals and gradually extends the running time. Congrats on your…

To weigh less than my husband is one of my goals too. He's somewhere in the 180-190 range...and I started out (before I joined MFP) at 253.2... last week I weighed in at 215.8.... so I have a ways to go!

Here's a list I'm compiling (haven't USED it yet, 'cause right now I just like to run without music)... but I'm listing songs I like or make me want to move my butt... http://tinyurl.com/bm48e67

I love running (and there was a time, not so long ago, I would have laughed myself silly if you told me I'd say those words)..... but I have not yet started to strength train. I'm a bit intimidated by it all and am going to meet with a trainer to get some instruction. Then I'll start. ;) But its nice to read why its so…

How old are the kids? Is there anything you could do with them? what I mean by that is... I used to have a workout dvd that was very family-friendly (Leslie one... called Family walk, I think)... and my daughter (age 6) has watched me do the Bob Harper "Pure Burn Strength" dvd (20 min beginner routine)...and sometimes she…

I agree.. start slow and gradually build up. I'd also re-think using the incline on the treadmill if you still want to use that. Just work on your time there...then as you become more fit you can add in the incline. When I started working out I started 20 minutes on my stationary bike (which I've since killed)...then built…

My 11 yr old (who is on the autism spectrum) has asked for 3 things: Spongebob tabletop pinball game, a fanny fart bank, and Microsoft office Train simulator. (We got the spongebob game off ebay, used, only place we could find it!)... and I intend to get the bank and we will make sure we get the PC game. ;) We've come up…

I LOVE my slow cooker.. on nights when I'm going to be out with my running group especially..that way I know hubby and the kids will have something to eat while I'm out. It does take setup the night before or morning of, but if you can do that it is great. I have a huge crockpot that's big enough to do a roast chicken in.…

Treadmill is a bit easier on your body than outside... so that's something to keep in mind. You can do outdoors even in the cold provided you dress appropriately (layers, wicking fabric,etc.)............ but on the other hand, doing some training indoors then switching to outside is also a viable way to go.. gotta do what…

Holy cow, what an amazing transformation! I also think its incredibly generous that you want to "pay it forward" like you're planning on doing. Mom to 4, stepmother to 1, AND a teacher... wow...I can't imagine how you manage to fit everything in, but I bet you have tons more energy now than you did at your heaviest..and…

I'd be interested to see what sort of replies you get! I've never done an obstacle race (yet).. .seems scary as heck but intriguing too!

Sounds like he was... i dunno, maybe intrigued. After all, maybe the adults in his life don't run or exercise and he was interested in this guy who did.
