Cute lil man! And you're right.. if we just got up and tried again, just like a baby does... it would be so much better! Heck, even the babies who sit on the floor and cry a minute about 'failing' (falling) are soon up and at it again! I lead a baby and toddler storytime, so I get to see a lot of baby behavior....but I…

I've found some decent crockpot chicken recipes that are easy and pretty flavorful. (I find a lot of good recipes at sparkpeople heheh) Crockpot salsa chicken http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=871817 And this recipe is one I just saw and want to try... Slow cooker buffalo chicken soup…

Another gamer girl here. (World of Warcraft mostly) One of my "tricks" which isn't really so much a trick, I guess... I don't allow myself onto the game unless I've exercised. (Exception being a rest day..heheh)

I totally forgot about Beastmaster II (I actually liked the first one,and know I've seen the second one, but forgot it.) Did a websearch to bring back some memories...and evidently there was a "Beastmaster 3" hehe no idea how bad that one is.

Nerdfitness has a great bodyweight strength training routine. It might be a way to get started if time/space are an issue... as well as gym membership. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

LOL I have been asked that! I just smile.. and then say "I did a 5K which is 3.1 miles" or "10K which is 6.2 miles" ... and say that matter of factly --- I don't want the person asking to feel foolish... at least by asking the person is showing some interest. :D

Another excellently executed half is the Marine Corps Historic Half in Fredericksburg, VA. (Its in the middle of May).. Of course, its run by the Marine Corps folks, so its is AWESOME... and the bling is impressive!

43 yr old (5'6 1/2" - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) Started my journey on 6/15/10 at my all time heaviest of 253.2... went to weight watchers until July of last year. (Had gotten down as low as 60 lbs gone).... have gained ~30 of that 60 back. Right now I'm using bodymedia and MFP... and finally think I have the…

I think I understand what you mean.. I, too have always been the smart one, the nerdy one, etc. Its natural, now that you've found something you enjoy and excel in to want to shine.... but think of it this way... You're not small minded or whatever, because you have shared your successes with these ladies... and its not…

I totally love this ^^ "Why would you say that to me?" it bounces their rudeness right back at them without being rude itself. In fact, if it were me, I'd probably preface it with "How totally rude? Why would you say that to me?" or "That is incredibly rude! How on earth could you think its acceptable to say something like…

Public librarian... and I'm stressing because due to budget crunches we're expected to as much or more with less staff. (Like congress, our ADMINISTRATION is fully staffed and they dont' see a problem) but those of us at the front lines are singing a different song.

Oh my...this sounds exactly like our new kitten Maverick (he's about 7months and we got him a week or so from the shelter)... he loves everyone's lap, but seems to especially be a "mommy's kitty!" LOL

What I think is awesome is that you came asking for suggestions of things you could try. You not only helped yourself, but might have helped someone else with the same problem without knowing it. And the folks who responded gave some great suggestions... I'm taking some mental notes of strategies I want to try the next…

Wow.. that's amazing.

I've done two half marathons and weigh about 216... now granted I did not run the entire distance -- did run-walk intervals, but it all depends o the person. With the proper shoes, training, and the common sense to listen to your body, it can be done. That said, running isn't necessarily better than walking. The best…

I was friends with a set of twins... Beth and Jenny Woods... met them when I was about 7. So I think I can be forgiven when I was I bust a gut laughing when their father introduced himself to me. "Hi, my name is Forrest"
