Apart from traditional or "normal" attractions, ladies with specs, don't know why, but have always found an attraction to bespectacled females.

Top man, keep it up.

I have to agree with this, I have days when I can eat like a bird, other days I could consume the contents of a large superstore. The trick is not to be too regimented, but don't make excuses for treats either, this can be a slippery slope. Be aware of what you are eating and if you feel like a pig out day, get some…

You mentioned that you do weights, I assume you are aware that muscle weighs more than fat? That could be a contributing factor.

I don't trust any measurement apart from the tape, I weighed myself last week and according to my home scale I'd put 5lbs on; all this despite sticking to my calorie goal. This week I've lost the 5lb that the scales said I'd put on with very little difference in my food intake or exercise regimen. The tape measure is a…

Welcome to MFP, it's a great place to be with some great support. My advice to you is to keep at it, grind it out until you reach your target. You will have times where you will feel "is it worth it?", I can categorically state hear and now yes it is! 8lbs in the first week is great, but there will be weeks where you look…

I can only dream of being 145, I'm currently just under twice that at about 276. Mind you I am 6' and 56 years old. Have faith in yourself and in the MFP system and with the support of your MFP friends you'll hit that 111 again. Don't go for the faddy diets, just eat sensibly and get a little exercise if you can;…

My diary is public, and if anyone is interested, tonight I may well treat myself to a bottle of red; I've earned it.

Following a recent heart attack I had to attend 16 sessions of cardiac rehab at my local hospital, after completing these 16 sessions I had managed to put on a kilo (just over 2lbs) however, I had reduced my body fat and lost an inch from my waist. The rehab team said that this was normal as the muscles I hadn't used for…

Hi Emily, my MFP calorie goal is 2210. This is based on the fact that I started three weeks ago at 287lbs and have a sedentary lifestyle. Obviously I'm unaware of your weight or lifestyle but past experience has shown me that MFP works (despite my current weight) if you let it. As long as you have entered everything…

2nd time on MFP, this time it's personal; post heart attack weight loss is a must!

I agree with Lucy, however I would also add a few cloves of garlic (you don't have to eat these if you don't want to) and some hard woody herbs such a thyme (my personal favourite) it gives the veg a little something else. Steve

Mackerel, tinned or fresh it is the most beautiful taste to cross my tongue.

Good to hear that your young man is giving you the emotional support you need, and of course you know he's right, don't worry about what you look like now. Look forward in time and in a couple of years or whenever you have reached whatever your target is and you send out personalised cards for Christmas or Easter or…

You mentioned these muscles you have now built up, you do know of course that muscular tissue weighs more than fatty tissue?
-
People often feel light headed after taking hot baths/showers. This is due to the blood vessels opening (heat does this) which in turn lowers the blood pressure, this is why the dizziness. Try to have the water a little cooler next time.
-
One thing to be aware of is that if you go for heavier weights, you will build muscle which weighs heavier than fat.

Not done a push up for many years, but I'll give it a go; I'm in.

Both after eating, it has become a lunchtime ritual for me. I just find it hard to believe that I can walk a lot faster but the calories burned are less?
-
I did but found the walking calories to be way over what they should be.
-
OK, perhaps I jumped the gun a little. I just found this, hope it helps? http://sheerbalance.com/exercise-resources/calories-burned-by-activity/ Sorry, don't know how to put an active hyperlink on here.

I too doubt the claims, I posted this in another thread about an hour or so ago: I'm a little unsure as to the legitimacy of the "burn" claims for walking. Today I have apparently burned 477 calories and walked less than 3 miles at what has to be said, was a sedentary pace. OK I was walking for a little over 1 hour in…

Forgive me if I'm wrong in the assumption that as a Uni student you are relatively young, but let me as an over 50 person give you some of advice. At a similar age to what you are now, I was as fit as I'd ever been; fitter in fact. I ran regularly, walked everywhere or at least took public transport, then several things…

I was going to post a reply, but I'm on my way to Morrisons

Great effort, it seems to have improved your eyesight too :-)
-
My details are correct, I double checked them this afternoon.
-
Any way I can get them, I have some growing in my garden at the moment which will be ready for Christmas lunch (if they last that long :-D

Thanks for that, I'll have a look around and see what's available from reputable manufacturers. Having said that, I always thaought Salter was one of those.

Gaudete -Steeleye Span Are you honest on your MFP food diary? (Honestly?)
-
53 and fat, but trying to do something about it.
