Start tracking your carbs like your life depended on it....because it does! Track everything you put in your mouth and keep your carbs at 50-75 until your blood sugars and HBA1C are under control. Like the OP said, it will be a life long battle for you. Message me if you need help. P.S. "typical" registered dietitians will…

I have Graves Disease so no gluten or dairy for me!

If you ate protein and fat together....you wouldn't be hungry.
-
You need to eat at maintenance and lift heavy to do a slow recomp.
-
I have people on my MFP feed that claim that they burn 1,000 calories doing cardio. Whatever!
-
So don't eat carbs that make you bloat.
-
My patients can and do get off of their diabetes medication if they maintain a low carb diet and exercise long term.
-
Diet > weight training > HIIT.

Intermittent Fasting will heal NASH. Also sugar/carbs contribute to NASH so I would look into a Ketogenic diet.
-
I don't desire carbs either. I sometimes eat too much bacon, otherwise no binges.

I am Keto and weight loss is very slow at this point (stall for months) but its all good because I am very close to my goal weight and I am building muscle.
-
I like Keto a lot and have been on it long term. No adverse reactions to the diet and I am still building muscle with low carbs. I also coach clients who are on Keto and they are all losing weight and doing exceptionally well.

You are doing the right thing and I encourage you to stick to this eating style despite what people say about sugar. 2/3 of the people in this country are obese and heading for or already have diabetes and not because they are eating healthy and exercising. They are consuming too many fruits, sugar and carbs period. When…

Sugar and refined carbs DO cause diabetes. My patients are not getting diabetes from eating meat and veges. Please do your research before making statements like this.

Lift heavy chit.....now!

Been on Keto for 3 years. Got off the train for about 4 months (IIFYM - big mistake) but then returned promptly after gaining 12 lbs. :)

Yep....enjoy as many eggs as you want. US government had it wrong for many years and recent research determines eggs are ok. Eat whole eggs for greater benefit.
-
Start with the bar and add small amounts of weight as you go. No tips really....just start now!
-
Lift heavy and look into a 5x5 program. Don't be afraid of weights.

Weight training and either a weighted vest walking around town or smaller hikes with the same loaded backpack that you will be using on the AT. Mole skin for the blisters and cut everything down to ultra light. Toothpaste on wax paper. Cut your toothbrush down to a tiny handle. Lightweight tent and minimal clothing. There…

Dietary fat does not make you fat, too many carbs do. I would up the fat (avocado and coconut oil), lower the carbs and hit the weights really hard. Leg/glute day should be your best friend.

Me too! I am going on my 4th year in Keto. Still kicking and building muscle.

^^^^^^^ Yes! A Ketogenic diet will treat most chronic health problems including diabetes, heart disease, cancer, Alzheimers, epilepsy, etc. It is not a fad diet as suggested by another poster and there are a lot of peer reviewed medical studies supporting it. It is very much sustainable. I have lost 116 lbs on it and it…

I have several tattoos and I always wait until the tattoo dries out a few days before I workout. Also gym equipment may have MRSA (and other bugs) on it that could get into your open skin so that's another reason to give it a few days to heal.

This may be a good time for you to try Intermittent Fasting. Or try having some bone broth during this sedentary time.

Fruit is going to make your fatty liver worse so I would stay completely away from fructose. Not sure why they don't want you to eat protein since it has no bearing on the liver. You do need to change your diet though if your liver enzymes are high. You need a ketogenic diet to reverse your fatty liver. Also have them…

I am 5'2, 47 years young and 138 lbs. On my training days, I eat between 1100-1300 calories. When I do Intermittent Fasting on my rest days, I eat between 800-1000 calories. I am still trying to body recomp though so this is only temporary. I could maintain at around 1200 calories.
-
I would look into a Ketogenic diet for both cancer treatment efficacy and also to prevent muscle loss. Message me if you want.

Your friend is the one with the eating disorder....not you!

My gym is full of female lifters....like me. ;)
