  • Don't think of it as "starting over" but as doing it right this time around hehe. That's what I'm doing. Fell off my Insanity workout program after going at it for 2 weeks and I'm just now getting motivated to start again after almost a week off. Back to the grindstone...but now I know what I'm in for, I know what it takes…
  • I'm a strict vegetarian so I don't eat eggs or dairy. All this for health reasons also, casein (dairy protein) gives me headaches. I was really upset at first because I loved cheese but now I'm off the addiction (hehe no really, casein has opioid qualities or something, actually addictive) and feel really good. I work out…
  • Haha it's been a work in progress for quite awhile, learning as I drop pounds and research more. Everyone's different. Like I said, I'm all or nothing. I get too lazy with small goals or too much flexibility because I find a way to rationalize all the crap to make myself not feel guilty and don't learn for the next time.…
  • Did you get your body fat percentage taken at a gym? I really want to get tested, but I don't know where to turn.
  • Hehe I am on day 11 of Insanity. I plan on doing it for 90 days instead of 60. It is certainly a challenge :-)
  • It depends on what kind you buy. I've had to shop around to find good pitas. They shouldn't be terribly difficult to open and stuff after halving them.
  • Congrats woman, that's awesome!
  • Bumpity bump
  • Yes yes yes! I eat them! It's been working for me for sure. My body does not like being deprived of the nutrition it requires to keep me feeling great. I usually don't log extra walking in a day, that's usually just part of my regular expended calories, but if I burn 400 calories in a workout, I sure eat those 400 calories…
  • Hehe I'm 23 and just hit my 20 pound mark too! Congrats!
  • A lot of people eat far more protein than their body needs. Listen to your doctor, do some research, and find out what works best for your body. Personally, my ratios are along the lines of 60carb /20prot /20fat so after a workout I get maybe 70 grams of protein in a day.

  • I may be boring, but this morning I mixed my 5-grain oats with unsweetened soy milk and heated for about 2-3 minutes. Then I added sliced strawberries and mixed. So delicious and nutritious! Best of luck, I don't have major recipes for my oats, I just make various oatmeals out of them :-)
  • Good morning everyone! I hope the weather is nicer for you than dreary DC this morning, though I do intend on making it lovely with some warm oats with strawberries soon :-) May 3: 158.5 May 10: 156 May 17: 154.5 May 24: May 31: June 7: June 14: June 21: June 28: July 5: July 12: July 19: July 26: August 2: August 9:…
  • It would depend on your weight/height, etc. but you don't appear to be obese... I'm 5'4 and 155. I did an "Insanity" workout today that was about 40 minutes long, with my heart rate averaging 165, up to 185. And I burned about 400 calories. On hard workouts, I generally burn about 100 calories per 10 minutes. Your 547 in…
  • Also, just noticed that all of the "eat this instead" juices are just smaller sizes of sugary juices... In the beginning, the article lays out why juice is bad for you and then goes on to recommend smaller, just as sugary juices instead of big sugary juices? I can see how it's better to drink the 8oz than the 20oz, but the…
  • Yep, I stopped drinking juice altogether! I eat the whole fruits, not separating the fiber from the juice. Mmmm healthy sugar instead of straight up sugar!
  • I'm set at 60 carb, 25 fat, 15 protein.
  • Haha guess I should have looked around the site more...thank you!
  • Awesome, adding! They assigned me a coach but it's a guy who's still working on his first program and doesn't have much on his profile...I was hoping for more inspiration I guess.
  • Right, right...hehe but a Beachbody coach that does Insanity
  • I mainly lost my first 15 pounds from changing my diet alone. I eat a plant-based diet now, which helps with my migraines, but also has helped me get closer to my healthiest weight. I do a lot of cardio and strength training now to help me get there, but my diet is still the largest part of my fitness level. Perhaps you'd…
  • Congrats! I noticed my khakis were falling off my butt yesterday hehe. I'll wear a belt next time, but I'm hoping to fit into an older pair of (nearly brand new) pants in a few weeks!
  • Just for a comparison, I'm 23, 5'4" and about 155. I generally burn 100 calories/10 minutes of hard work on the elliptical. I usually do 30-45 minutes, burning 300-450 or so. Unless you're literally sweating a pool the entire time, I think the numbers may be inflated. I wear a Polar HRM when I exercise, it'd probably be…
  • I'm set at 1300 calories a day. If I burn 500 that puts me at 1800 net so if I eat about 1750, it'll say "congrats, you're under!" or something and everyone will tell me I did a great job. The problem lies in the base 1200 with no exercise, in my opinion. Someone can be set at 1200 (a deficit of at least 500 usually) and…
  • I bought almond milk yesterday for the first time! I had half a glass of the unsweetened chocolate and it was kinda "meh." I think it'd go great in a smoothie with some frozen berries, spinach, and maybe some protein powder though. I'm looking forward to trying the vanilla though, I want to make sure I'm not relying on soy…

  • I am starting INSANITY on Monday...I guess you guys will get to see my weekly updates on here :-)
  • Sorry, haven't tried Jay Johnson's but I am starting Insanity soon. How did you like it?
  • Haha I fail the first day of my goals on here, I didn't do 45 minutes of cardio...just 30 on the bike. My shoulders and back are sunburnt to a crisp and I couldn't bear the rub of my tank top any longer. I am alright with that since I ate decently today :-) Back to the Aleve and aloe lotion, hopefully I'll start peeling…
  • I'm alright with that. Would a potato possibly work? How about a sweet potato....hehe
