  • I started a new job, and have been busy with that. I am also away right now, but when I return next week, I have to start training for a 10 mile race, so I'd love to start up with the challenges again once I get back.
  • My June goal is to get back on track. I've gotten a bit lazy, unmotivated, etc. I had 3 trips in April, and its been a struggle to get back to where I was before that. My goal is to exercise every day, lose the weight I gained, and continue to lose. I was just starting to get to where I could shop in a regular store for a…
  • I have plans to go to Blizzard Beach tomorrow. (Disney water park) My friend and I get in the lazy river and walk laps. Each lap is 3/4 mile, and you get the bonus of the resistance of the water. Its a great way to exercise, not sweat, and get a tan at the same time! Food isn't a temptation there, as we always bring our…
  • Hey all~ I've been absent for a bit, and not logging as diligently as I used to. The result? A gain. Hopefully, I've snapped out of my funk, and will stay back on track again. I was losing the motivation I had going for so long. I need to get it back. Good to see everyone, and I hope y'all have a good week!
  • I sent you a friend request! Anyone from the group, feel free to add me. My diary is locked with a key, however, if your diary is open to me, I will happily send you the password. :)
  • I need to remember that one more often....
  • Same here- ban the word 'diet' from your vocabulary. Its a new lifestyle, which for me, means I still get to eat my favourites. Moderation is key. As long as I don't feel deprived, I can stay healthy 95% of the time. Deprivation=binging (for me).

  • I think you're doing something positive. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, or says, when you know you're doing what is right for YOU. Also, once you break the fast food habit, (and stick to it for a while) you'll find you crave it less and less. I haven't had fast food since August, unless you count some quick…

  • Do you have Fitness OnDemand with your cable? Mine has all kinds of classes (for free). Might be a fun time to try something new. Card games, board games, crafty things (do you knit crochet, needlepoint?) Do you have a Kindle? Lots of great books for 99 cents, so it won't cost you a fortune. Any books- or series of books…
  • I had to bump this up, because as of this morning, I hit that first mini-goal!
  • 2 things have really helped me. The first is finding an exercise that I enjoy, and that I don't dread having to do. For me its walking/running/biking/swimming/kayaking. I can't wait until my pool is warm enough again to swim (mid-March)! Also, for me, I have to have treats in the house. I love to cook/bake, and knowing I…
  • Hello and welcome!
  • Nice to meet you!
  • I like the idea someone above had of bringing along a salad, and just eating that. Tell them you're really trying to eat healthy, and saving your extra calories for Christmas Day. I get the cleanliness thing though. People who don't live in FL, don't get our 'issues' with roaches. I'm OCD about cleaning and pest control,…
  • Another Floridian (Orlando) checking in! I'm also on every day, like to support my friends, and am here for the encouragement! Feel free to add me!
  • This will start out sounding sad, but.....both my parents have passed away, my bio sister is from/lives in Quebec, and the rest of my family doesn't live anywhere near me. That said, I spend the holiday with friends. I've made a fantastic group of friends since I moved to FL, and we had a great holiday party. This weekend…
  • Made this for the first time tonight. it was so delicious I had to share. :) Got the recipe in Southern Living magazine. Edamame Succotash Heat 1 tbsp EVOO in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 diced medium white onion, and saute until onion becomes translucent and brown (about 5-10 mins). Add 1 minced garlic clove (I…
  • I knew I was getting close to it for a few months, but I spent a weekend with the girls in August, and when I uploaded the pictures, I was horrified at how I looked. I looked swollen and bloated. My skin looked oily, my hair looked limp, and I was wearing an outfit that was stretched to the breaking point. I was mortified-…
  • Not sure how healthy it is, but....LOL I loveeeee ice cream. So I have the Edy's slow churned ones. 1/2 cup (which I make sure to stick to) varies between 110 and 140 calories, depending on which flavour. Its hard to feel deprived when you get to eat ice cream on a regular basis, and stay within your calorie goals.
  • Welcome to the group! Everyone here is super nice and very supportive. Its a great place to be! :)
  • What a great idea the food donation is!
  • Ultimate goal- weigh 125. Mini goals- my first mini goal is to get below 220. I haven't been that low in 6 years. I have 10 more pounds to go for that one. After that, my goal is WONDERLAND!! :) I haven't been there since the 90's. That will be a major one for me. Next goal- in April, I am going with a friend on a Top Chef…
