^^what's the name of the self help book? I have the same issues with bingeing :(

I noticed that you eat a lot of carbs. I know everyone's different, but personally, I find that when I eat a meal high in carbs, I get EXTREMELY hungry shortly after. I think it has to do with your blood sugar spiking. Try lowering the carbs just a touch and seeing where that gets you.

I'm not a fan of rolled oats (that's what Quaker oats are) because of the texture. Have you tried steel cut oats? They have all of the same nutritional benefits as rolled oats, but with a chewier texture. I've seen them sold at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Trust me -- steel cut oats are where it's at. I'm a HUGE oatmeal…

I just made these using greek yogurt instead of cottage cheese, and they're DELISH! Thanks for the recipe!

I weigh in on Mondays and Fridays.

I keep my food diary open, too! It makes me think twice about eating something unhealthy, because I know it will be out there for my friends to see!
-
Thanks for the insight! I think your explanation definitely makes the most sense.

I'm not 100% sure yet, but I think sweet potatoes make me hungrier. Which really sucks, because they're good for you (and SO tasty!)
-
Sounds delish! Thanks for the recipe!

Great suggestions, all! Keep em coming! :) I LOVE greek yogurt (had some for breakfast this morning!). I will work on eating more nuts, too. I have noticed that every time I have a sweet potato for dinner, I'm really hungry afterwards. Could it be the sugars/carbs in the sweet potato that's causing my blood sugar to spike…

Great ideas, everyone! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Thanks everyone for the tips. I will work on getting more protein in my diet. It's hard! I'm not a vegetarian anymore, but I don't eat a lot of meat, so it's hard. About to make some tea now; hope this helps!

I'll add you! And I also need friends, so feel free to add me as well!

I'm also a runner! Currently training for my second half (which is also in April!) I'm a big fan of Hal Higdon's training plans as well.
-
I'm not 5'4, but I'm close! 5'5. My starting weight was 135, and I want to go down to 120.

My HRM counts WAY more than what MFP says.

I do yoga on my rest day. That way, I'm still doing something sort of active (well, more active than sitting on my couch!)

Welcome! I'm from St. Louis as well! You'll love it here. Everyone is so supportive :)
-
I'm adding a bunch of you as friends! Let's keep each other motivated! :)
-
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! I used to be a vegetarian, but not any more. I just kept the username because I like it. :) I will work on keeping my calories up to at least 1200...thanks for the tip. And thanks for the friend requests! It really means a lot :)

I like Jarrow's Vanilla Whey Protein.

I used to be just like you. I hated water; couldn't stand the taste of it. I drank soda all the time. I later discovered that it wasn't WATER that I hated, it was ICE COLD water. I know this sounds weird, but if water is room temperature, I like it so much more. Now all I drink is water. It's a crazy idea, but try playing…

Have you ever had popchips before? They have a nice crunch, they're light, and there's a LOT in a serving!

I love this thread! I definitely fit into this category. I'm 5'5, and I weigh 135. I want to get down to 120. I'm an exercise fanatic (running and spinning) so that's not the problem; food is. Hopefully MFP will help me get a better idea of what I'm putting into my body.
-
I added you! Everyone feel free to add me, too! I can use all the inspiration I can get!
-
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! :)

I did C25K back in 2009. Before I started I could barely run for 5 minutes without tiring. Now I'm training for my second half marathon (13.1 miles). It works. Just stick with it!
