Ask your MD to refer you to the nearest Diabetes Self-Management Program to get proper education and treatment with a qualified RD/CDE for your type 2 diabetes. You can go on line to http://www.diabeteseducator.org/?vm=r and click on "Find a diabetes educator" on the right hand side of the screen to find a program near you.

Ummm...Registered Dietitian over here...We don't like having words put in our mouths. Keep up the good work with the weight loss and whole foods though. :-)

Did you try Ebay?

Your issue is most likely related to a lack of sodium, not potassium. You need SALT, not a banana...
-
No. It's the same.

Thank you for this, Shelby. Made my day. :-) And to the OP... It happens to all of us from time to time. Hope you feel better!

2 mice fell into a bucket of cream...Yada...Yada..Yada.

I LOVE coconut water. I buy Vita Coco, O.N.E. and Zico brand. I only like the pure, unflavored ones though. I hate when its mixed with other stuff. Best source of potassium you will find in a natural drink. I add salt to make it a better sports drinks for my long workouts.

A lot of diseases are both preventable and treatable through lifestyle and diet...That doesn't make them not considered a disease state. Also, many diseases are caused solely through the individuals lifestyle choices...That also does not make them not considered a disease. Morbid obesity in most cases is no more or less a…

A little fruit will change the flavor a lot. I also add vanilla protein powder and fresh ginger.

Kale is extremely nutritious and versatile! You can use it any way you would spinach or any other dark green. It has a mild flavor and holds up well in casseroles and soups, but is also good raw in a salad or smoothie. Try it like this- http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/braised-kale-with-bacon-cider-10000000577156/

Fiber and sodium are not macros... There are 3 macronutrients, carbohydrates, fats , and proteins. A macronutrient is a nutrient that provides calories. Salt is a mineral micronutrient and fiber is the non-digestible part of a plant.

Salt/pepper, chopped fresh parsley and cilantro, red onion, pickled jalepeno, lemon juice, plain Greek yogurt and ground cumin...the cumin is key. ;)

^^This. The truth is, most of us in this country could do with a little "hunger" once in a while... The overindulgence and sense of entitlement in relation to consuming and "having it all, all the time" is pretty sickening and has done nothing but lead us down a path of health destruction. Eat, yes, but eat what your body…

^^This^^. You should be exercising at the level that is challenging for you based on your "percieved effort" not what the machine tells you. Try higher intensity intervals mixed with lower intensity intervals. In order to continue to improve your fitness level (not "just" lose weight) you need to continue to challenge…

I LOVE eggplant! It's extremely versatile. Most people that don't like it, have just never had it cooked the way they like!

Just to clarify for the OP "45g protein 100 cals per serving" is not possible, considering each gram of protein provides 4 calories. There are 4 cals per gram protein, 4 cals per gram of carbohydrate, and 9 cals per gram of fat.
-
"Macros" (macronutrients) are not "the breakdown between carb, pro, fat", they are, by definition the 3 calorie providing nutrients (Ie: Carbs, Pro, Fat).

I think you've just answered your own question. Clean up your diet. Increase your exercise and/or change what you are doing and you will start to see results again. I can tell you if i ate like you've been eating, I would not lose either.
-
Not true (about it having "more than any other spread"). And to the OP, I agree... I feel the same confusion about peanut butter when it comes to a "protein source".
-
Well, then, knowing what you "should" eat for dinner tonight is not your issue. Think more globally.
-
^^This! Absolutely.
-
^^Yep. This. Never understood what people mean when they ask if a food/drink/program "works".
-
Escargo are snails...I think you mean caviar.

Her numbers represent the number of calories/grams of carbs/grams of fat/grams of protien.

I eat a lot of quinoa and have tried several brands and have never experienced the "sand" bits issue. Might just be that particular batch? Maybe?
