I know what you mean! I lost 65 and gained back 20. Now I'm starting over to lose the 20 I gained and 10 extra...good luck!

Thats what I guessed, too. I'm cutting, but I want to get strong and maintain whatever muscle I do have. After cutting, I can focus on bulking if I want to....thanks for the clarification! BUMP BUMP

I'm so glad you posited this topic!!!! These 30 day squat challenges do not work because in order to grow strong muscles you need to tear them down while working them out. This is where you feel sore and then they need time to rest and repair which makes them grow and get stronger. You get do squats, but you need to have…

This is right on point! Rest days are very important which is why those 30 day squat challenges that are going around are useless. I'm currently doing 3 x a week, but once I start going too heavy for home, I will cut back down to 2 x a week. Love this thread!

I've ready that your problem area is usually the most stubborn to go. For some this happens to be their midsection and others its their tush. I personally tend to hold more weight in my thighs and butt, so for me this is problem area as well. Just continue what you're doing and eventually you will slim down in this area,…

I agree! The key to this is to lift heavy. I'm not lifting heavy yet, but I'm working towards it. Im banking on 6 to 8 months to squat in the 200's and leg press 300's. That is my goal....lets see what happens!!! :) How heavy are you lifting?
-
Yes! All variations of squats will do! Check out the various squats, lunges, deadlifts, etc on bodybuilding.com, it is a great resource! Romanian Deadlifts are my favorite! Please, please, please stretch. Its very important to stretch. I also do 10 or stretching before and 15 stretching after. I love the pigeon pose by…

My goal is to build a better booty, too! I just started last week, so I can't give you my results just yet. I can say that I already feel stronger. I can increase my weight this week. I'm working out my tush 3 times a week. Mon, Wed, Fri and let me tell you the first 2 days were horrible. You need to add weights to your…

Me Too!!! I'm always scared this will happen to me.

I agree!!! Track body measurements, body fat% and NSVs. In addition, stick to your plan no matter what the scale says, and you will eventually see and feel changes a scale cannot quantify. Best of luck!!!

Good for you!!! I'm going through the same thing. I gave myself a bit of a break over the summer and although I haven't gained any weight back, I need to really jump back into the mix. I'm starting a upper and lower body split, but I'm focusing on developing my lower body by hitting it 4 times a week. Best of luck on your…

Most girls gain weight right before reaching puberty, but you may want to do some fun things outdoors. I have a 6 yr old and we ride bike, go for walks, play frisbee, kick around a soccer ball, swimming classes, etc. You may see if she wants to do cheerleading, dance, swimming, skating anything where she is having fun and…

I think about this all the time and I completely agree^^^ You must be aware of what you are eating, be aware of your current weight and whether you are trending up or down and continue to be active.
-
I think you are correct! It looks like your BMR should be around 1805 cal based on the Katch-McArdle method. This is just your BMR. This does not take into account your current activity level. So...you are at 225# = 102.27 kg and your BF is at 35% then your LBM is 66.47 kg. Your BMR = around 1800 (rounded down for ease)…

Last night was the first time I ever watched this show. I agree, the money seems like the motivation. One guy broke his kids eye socket and fractured his skull when in a car accident his seat belt broke due to his weight and he hit his 3 or 4 year old with his 300 something pound frame. He promised his kid to lose weight 2…

The problem is that the only way to maintain weight loss is to continue doing what you were doing to lose it. So if you are watching what you're eating and exercising, this is exactly what you must do to maintain it. Therefore, if you restrict yourself to just 500 calories and are on HCG and then start to eat normally and…

I try not to ask people personal questions because I want to avoid awkward situations like this. However, when I was pregnant, a woman asked me when I was due and I answered her. I then proceeded to ask her when she was due....she was NOT pregnant and her baby was 14 months old. I was mortified, shocked and in disbelief…

Congratulations on taking control and embarking on this journey! Although my husband is not in the military, he travels for work and I am lonely, too. I've decided to make a change for me, my hubby and my children. I especially want his jaw to drop next time he comes home! :blushing:
