I met last week's goal of 180 minutes of activity and plan to shoot for the same this week! Week of 11/7 Goal - 180 mins Mon: 30 mins - assembling inversion table, carrying around the house, vacuuming upstairs, packing vacuum downstairs, vacuuming downstairs and removing strings wrapped around the vacuum beater bar whilst…

Thanks for this challenge Mollie - it gave me the push to get moving this week! :flowerforyou:

Since I broke a toe or 2 or 3 on my right foot yesterday, my workouts this week will be limited to activities I can do without a sock & shoe - basically weight training. When I lift, I do a total body workout and have to take the next day off to allow the muscles to rest and repair. So, looks like I will be getting 3…

I'm totally in Mollie!!! Thanks for starting this. I have been such a lazy slug since I got back from vacation - always sometime else to do like sitting on my butt. I planned to jump start my eating and exercise plan on Monday anyway, so this just helps me have even more accountability!!! :flowerforyou:

Congrats!!! What an awesome NSV!!!!!

(((((HUGS))))) I had to let my first dog go almost 3 years ago and it is still the hardest thing I have ever done. However, it was kinder not to prolong his suffering. It is so hard to make a selfless decision like this but you are doing the right thing. As others have said, make the remainder of his time the best of his…

bump! thanks for sharing Kelly!!!

I have the 24oz Contigo in blue and LOVE it!!! It is so handy because you do not have a top to constantly open like a disposable bottle or even one of the bottles with a pull up top. It is completely a one-hand operation - hold the bottle, push the button built into the lid at the back (very easy while holding in one hand)…

Hi all. I am totally in! This is my first organized challenge on MFP and hoping it will help keep me motivated this month. I am going to the beach the last week of September and need all the help I can to stay focused and not use vacay as an excuse to return to my former eating pattern! Good luck everyone!!!! :drinker: SW:…

I wanted to say thank you for sharing your story!!!! I know how difficult it can be to open up, especially about so many personal experiences, but I have no doubt you have inspired countless folks here including me. I wish you the best of luck with your surgeries. I agree - you deserve to feel/look on the outside as great…

Thanks for getting back with me. The pain is only when lifting to the sides. Stabbing might not be the best description of the pain at this point. When it first began (May 2010), it truly felt like a knife being driven into the ball of my joint. Now, it is more of a dull ache, not constant, but there quite often. I saw my…

I have a question regarding shoulder exercises. I have some generalized pain in my left shoulder - the doctor says it is some type of "itis" - bursitis, tendonitis or a slight rotator cuff tear. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory and said I can do some light weights. When I do most of my strength work - pushing and pulling…

Thanks for the crunch info, especially the chin tip. My gym has a seated crunch machine, but I am too wide for it - my "girls" get caught by the arm pads, so I need a good basic alternative to work that region until I will fit in the machine. This really helps. I have been doing part of the motion right - never lock my…

Thanks for the triceps tip! I have been doing the press downs and kickbacks, but did not know the lying extensions would work better for the batwings!

I do that too!!! For me, it is a comfort thing - afraid if I eat more than 1/2 my daily calories during the day, somehow I will end up super hungry in the evening and not have enough to fill me up. But then when I make dinner, it is usually about 1/2 of my remaining calories and since most of my snacks are low cal, I end…

LOL, I had the same experience last night - used regular brown rice and baked on 375 for an hour and then 400 for another 30 minutes. Still had to microwave each portion to finish cooking the rice. Next time, I am either using instant brown rice with the water or pre-cooking the rice and baking for less time. I also threw…

Hi all. I just found this thread in doing a search for others in "my boat." I have lost 65# as of this weekend and still have another 200 to lose. For some reason this morning I was feeling a little unmotivated and started that self-doubt wondering if it can be done or if I should just give up, eat everything I want, and…
