I was trying the MFP suggestion and lasted about 2 weeks because I felt terrible. It recommended high carb, mod-low protein and mod-low fat. It made me feel like a ham to have all those carbs. I went to a more carnivore diet and feel way better! I've only lost 10 pounds in 7 months :( I didn't include the exercise factor…

I've cut out 99.9% of fast food (I've had less than 5 fast food meals in 7 months), don't eat boxed meals, drink tons of water, and workout pretty hard on top of having a very physical job. I've been doing intermittent fasting and doing 1-2 meals a day, with smaller meals and way more activity than prior. I'm not…

I'm going to ask you the same thing - why don't you believe somatotypes are a thing and how do you explain the tendencies towards certain behaviors/responses that bodies tend to do? I usually wear my FitBit, just not during training. My long term results (if 7 months can be considered long term) of making dietary changes…

If I manually log my workouts, MFP is just making a guess at what I'm actually burning. I've already experimented in group fitness classes while wearing the Fitbit and comparing to what MFP automatically calculates and there's usually a pretty big difference, so I'd rather not. I don't eat back the exercise calories anyway…

Eating 1500 calories a day has only yielded me about 10 pounds of weight loss in 7 months. I'm tired of working my *kitten* off watching what I eat and getting almost nothing for it, so I was looking to see if I could change something. And since you also believe somatotypes aren't a thing, change my mind! Instead of saying…

MFP recommends 50% (150g) carb, 30% fat (30g), and 60g (20%) protein. Not sustainable for me. It makes me feel bloated and sluggish, plus it doesn't work for weight loss. I do best with higher protein. So if endomorph isn't a thing, change my mind :) Why do you believe somatotypes are not a thing and how do you explain the…

The other things are just like riding. You have to practice to get good. Ten minutes into the first time you were ever on a horse, could you sit out all the gaits correctly? Could you jump a 3' course? Could you hold two point and stay balanced? No. You had to work on your riding to be able to do anything more than sit…

I would not feel comfortable with either, honestly. I hate the one-on-one of a personal trainer and I can't justify a paying a nutritionist just to have someone try to sell me some meal plan or gimmick.

It kind of looks like your ideal legs are muscular. If that's the case, you can see why this is a problem for you if you don't exercise. You CAN slim them through just a loss of body fat, but they still won't look like what you want. I think you just need to make time to work out. You have the time for exercise, you just…

You can't teach a Zumba class without an instructors license. You also really shouldn't be teaching a group fitness class without a group fitness certification. The best thing to do is to become licensed in a format and get your group fitness crrtificstion because otherwise you can easily lead your class participants into…

If you want burn counts that are more accurate, you need a heart rate monitor with a chest strap. Anything else is going to be just a guess.

Working out and sports are not the same thing. The biggest problem is that you have this big checklist of things. Just don't work out if you're not into it. Exercise is for fitness.
-
It depends. The same exercise with the same amount of effort will result in a lower calorie burn at a lighter weight. However as you lose weight your fitness level should be increasing which could mean you're putting more effort into your workouts therefore exerting yourself more. It's not clear cut.

Why does it matter if you're the "fat friend"? Are you competing with them I something that involves your appearance? If not, it really shouldn't matter - you're not friends with each other based on your looks. Among the few friends that I have, I am the "fat friend" but it has no impact on our friendship and doesn't ever…

Doesn't the box tell you the calories?

If you're not wearing a heart rate monitor it's going to be one huge guess.

Research both, but the writer of Strong Curves says he's famous for being the glute guy: http://www.strongcurves.com/authors/

It's corset training. She's not skinnier. She's just worn the corset so tightly and for so long that her organs shifted into a new position.

Sounds like you might be an emotional eater. Are you aware of any extra eating or skipped workouts when they're going on? Or only after the fact? If you can see when you're going off track as you're doing it it's easier to get back on track. If you are emotionally snacking maybe try replacing that habit with doing a little…

Albuterol doesn't work for everyone. I only had success with Singulair.

It's the social media website almost everyone and everything puts their face on.

Sit-ups won't give you a flat stomach. There's not a special food that will give you a flat stomach. You can't pick where you lose fat from. You'll just have to either accept where you are or continue losing body fat.
-
I do. There's an active ballet beautiful group out on the major social media website ( assuming I can't mention names).

People are so used to everyone being fat that they just assume something is wrong when a person isn't.

It sounds like they were always calling you. Now that schedules are different, how many times have you called them up and asked them out? How many times have you made an effort? I think as lonely as you feel it sounds like you're just waiting for an invitation instead of recognizing that things are different and therefore…

The 10000 steps thing was created to get people off their behinds and moving. It was a means to give people some way to measure their activity level when they're starting from none. It really isn't that important - just make sure you get your acotivty through other means.

I wear a sports bra over a regular bra, sometimes 2. It works, so there's no reason to not keep doing it.

We have zero way of knowing your intent so I threw it out there *just in case* you were thinking about it. Additionally, many other people read these threads and take note of the advice given even if they never participate in the thread.

I've never heard of an actual scientific study that backs any of these claims. It's just broscience. Eat sensibly and don't look for magic tricks like these - they don't exist.
