I find it helpful to plan/log what I'm going to eat the day before. That way I can see if I'm getting enough protein or calcium or whatever before I eat anything. I can always go back and change it if I vary my plan.

So doing deadlifts and squats raises testosterone in men--what does it do if a woman does them. How does the exercise differentiate whether a man or woman is performing it? Lol

It happened to me before when my net calories were too low, meaning I was not eating back my exercise calories. I lost 27 pounds over 4 months. Things returne d to normal when I started eating more calories.

Personally I think McDonald's BK and Taco Bell are all gross. It doesn't taste good. After my husband eats BK burgers his breath smells plasticky. The best tasting food is homemade

I do all kinds of workout videos at home from kickboxing to ballet to strength training. I am currently doing a dvd set called Ruthless which I got at walmart for $30 which uses no equipment just body weight (20 min per day workouts). It is similar to T25.

I weigh myself first thing in the morning after using the bathroom. that s my official weigh in. I obsessively weigh myself throughout the day also. I have found that drinking 8-12 cups of water per day keeps the scales lower because when you dont drink enough water it causes your body to retain water. Also high sodium and…

Eew no wonder I cant get enough iron! although I used to like sardines when I was a kid
-
I have found that when I don't drin k at least 8 cups of water a day the scale will be up about 2 lbs the next day. Staying properly hydrated keeps your body from retaining water. Also when I don't drink water I overeat. So I believe for myself that water is the key to losing weight.

I am having trouble reaching my iron goal for the day. What foods are high in iron?

I love this!

"The problem is we often deal with stress mentally, and never respond to stress with physical activity that would burn the extra energy provided by the cortisol surge. Whether your stress was emotional or physical, the stress response is identical, causing a spike in your appetite. This can cause a craving for comfort…

I often hear people saying to eat some carbs before a workout and protein after, and I that never made sense to me since the body doesn't digest it right away. I would say that in a fasted state, there would be no nutrients in the bloodstream, and therefore fat would have to be broken down. I appreciate you posting this…
-
Ok. I'm trying to process all the information you presented here. So you're saying that for intermittent fasting the fasted state doesnt begin until 3-4 hrs after the last meal. And you said earlier that fat burn occurs after 16 hrs fasted? is that 16 hrs after the last meal or 16 hrs in the fasted state which would be 20…

I love spicy sausage with syrup. But you have to drink orange juice with it. I dont really have a phrase that bothers me. Maybe that so many people type "loose" when they mean "lose"

This may be a dumb question, but if 5-10 minutes of steady-state cardio brings down insulin levels, and insulin inhibits lipolysis, and insulin is secreted when you eat, then would doing the few minutes of cardio after eating lower the insulin and enhance fat loss?

I am on week 3 now. Did anyone notice that on week 3 the first circuit that the third strength exercise (rowis) is only done once, she repeats the first two exercises a second time but then moves on to cardio. I also noticed on week 1 the second time they do the running man seemed like it was going on forever. so the next…

I just started it again too. I do it 6 days a week and take Sunday off and do one level per week for 4 weeks.

There is nothing wrong with eating bread! You might have some rice to add more calories its a good energy food. And maybe some fruit.
-
Well said. I'm afraid to tell people my goal or even how much I weigh because I know I'll be condemned for it. I shouldn't have to hide like this.
-
Yes I did the same thing. I was within 5 lbs of my goal last year and lost whatever it was driving me to stay on track. I quit logging the last six months of last year then for new years tried to get back on board. I'm still struggling to stay motivated but about a week ago I kinda on a whim decided to enter a 5k in April…

maybe you're supposed to add both? "pushing a stroller" and "walking 3.0 mph" I walk briskly uphill pushing a double stroller with two 30 lb kids. if I added both it would be about 300 cal per hr. does that sounds reasonable?
