I believe one of the first rules I read when I joined MFP was that there was to be no name calling. I think that was forgotten here. Darn, I wish there were a magic way to get the belly fat off because that's my problem area. Guess hard work and persistence is still the answer.

I think you gave her a good response. I honestly used to think similar thoughts. It never occurred to me that my thin co-worker was thin because she actually worked at it. Hang in there. Thankfully you know the truth and hopefully that woman will learn it too.

I'm having fun with my daughter's country dance. I don't think I burn as many calories as I do with other workouts, but I need to change things up to keep me motivated and Wii is a fun activity to throw in now and then.

I've not had great luck keeping friends here. (I hope it's not me) I try to keep my circle fairly small so I can offer a word of encouragement every day, but if I don't get some encouragement back I tend to delete them. Want to be friends?

Soooooo wish I had done this at Applebee's yesterday! Ha ha thought I, It's a very late lunch, I'll make it lunch and dinner, I can have what ever I want. Idiot. Did you know the Provolone-Stuffed meatballs with fettucini has 1580 calories? I do now. Took all the fun of the day away in one swoop.

About 400 calories an hour snow shoveling. Browse under cardiovascular exercises and you will find it, I know I shoveled A LOT on Saturday!

Consider this. If your car can only go 300 miles on a full tank of gas, you wouldn't expect to go 320 without adding more gas. So too, our bodies need fuel (1200 calories/day at least) to just manage the normal stuff of life. If we burn more calories by exercising, we have to give our body more fuel.

I agree with all the folks who spoke to eating your exercise calories. Make sure your goal and net calories are very close. Doesn't it seem crazy that you have to eat to lose? It's true, it's true.

For 14 years I said I was going to take lessons, then I finally did! Bought a Harley after and enjoyed it thoroughly, Sadly sold my bike last spring as I had too many other things on my list to do!

Getting home hungry and snacking is a problem for me too. One thing that helps is having dinner ready when I get there. Crock pots and time bake are wonderful tools!

I just looked under the exercise tab, chose cardiovascular, typed in dancing, chose aerobic, ball room and twist and found calories burned for so many minutes of aerobic exercise.
