  • I marinaded the pork loin in chinese 5 spice and olive oil. Baked in the oven then added to the stir fry :-). Pork loin is just a chop with no fat or bone
  • Stir fry veggies, mushrooms, baby tomatoes, stir fry sauce, medium noodles and chinese pork loin steak .... Yummy :-)
  • You don't need salt - there us no benefit !! The green ring is caused when the eggs aren't cooled quickly enough but they aren't detrimental to the taste. I put eggs in cold water, bring to the boil and simmer for 6 mins max. Drain and leave them under a running cold tap until cold ... Perfection !!
  • 1200 cals on a sedentary day is ample for me and I eat plenty! Diary is open if you want to take a look. However I do eat back some of my exercise calories as well.
  • This will be delicious with mixed salad for only a few more calories. Thank you for this recipe it sounds delicious!
  • And a third .... Whole rainbow trout (if you don't want to do it yourself ask the fish monger to take the head off and fillet but leave the skin on). Stuff with ricotta and spinach and a little seasoned butter. Either put in a dish, cover with film and microwave for around 4 mins or wrap in foil and oven bake. Once out of…
  • Another recipe .... Any white fish, smoked fish and salmon (also raw prawns if you like), cube and put in oven roof dish. Pour over a white or parsley or cheese sauce and top with mashed (crushed) cooked potatoes. Rough up the top so it goes crispy and bake in the oven on 200 for about 40 mins.
  • Take a salmon fillet and split to make a pocket. Stuff with a slice of mozzarella cheese and sun dried tomato. Dab a little seasoned butter (garlic or lemon) on top. Put in a dish, cover with film and microwave for about 3.5 mins. Done! Just add whatever veggies you fancy. You can also wrap it in foil and oven bake but the…
  • I can't answer your question but 10 years ago I lost 5 stone on the old WW system and it was pretty easy to use. In Jan last year I subscribed again but the pro points system did nothing for me - it just didn't work and most likely because I couldn't wrap my head round it! Came on to MFP which is much simpler (and free!)…
  • I've been here almost a year and lost 42lb so far. I have 2 grown up children and 4 grandchildren - I also have 3 dogs - 2 golden retrievers and a cocker spaniel. Feel free to add me if you'd like.
  • I agree that there are no bad foods! Everything in moderation - if you want pizza have it - just work the rest of the days calories around it. If you go over one day try to go under the next or .... Get a walk or some other exercise in to claw back some of the calories. Also slowly does it - 1lb a week is plenty and more…
  • And you look great in them - well done! :-)
  • To be honest I don't know why you are beating yourself up. I started in January at 215lb (also 5'4") and have lost 42 lb to date. I'm really happy with that because this is a lifestyle not a diet!! You could lose it really quickly but the chances are it will pile back on again just as quickly. I lost 70lb 11 years ago and…
  • Bin it and move on. Just be honest with yourself and log everything you eat. This time of year is hard for all of us so you're not alone. Try and get a walk in or some other exercise when you know you're going to have a calorific day. Remember this isn't a diet it's a lifestyle so these kind of days will happen…
  • As others have suggested - save your money and look her up on Youtube - I do her walks regularly and I find them really good. Good luck:-)
  • Yes I get it a lot - particularly at work. The tutting and finger wagging and knowing sideway glances! You're doing this right in my opinion - it's a lifestyle not a diet. Slow but sure is much more likely to become a lifelong habit than depriving yourself and missing out on nice meals with friends and the odd bit of…
  • I started at 215 but have now lost nearly 42. I'm here for the long haul so feel free to add me if you think I can help :-)
  • A very sad day - thinking of all our South African MFP colleagues and every one else in his beloved country. Rest in peace lovely man xx
  • Well I was a January starter this year and I'm still here and nearly 42lb down :-) Yes I know a good percentage will give up fairly quickly but not all so I'll give the benefit of the doubt to this who have the courtesy to send a note along with their friend requests :-)
  • To be honest I don't think it matters when you eat your caloies. We go out every second Sunday for a big family breakfast which is also about 800 calories. It keeps me going all day then I have a light evening meal. So long as you stick to your daily allowance it's fine
  • Oh dear TROLL at its best ..., or worst ??? To be ignored at the very least :-)
  • Your diary looks pretty good to me although I would need more fruit and veg (but that's just me). Why don't you make a note of the days you feel bloated then you might be able to find a common denominator. Good luck you look like you're doing well so far. My diary is open too if you want to take a look but, remember there…
  • Go and enjoy your night out and drink what you like - one night is not going to hurt at all. In fact it is more likely to keep you focused if you have a break occasionally! As for pot luck dish - why not take one of your own favourite low cal dishes - then you'll have the perfect night out! Enjoy !!! :-)
  • Oh yes!!! Everyone else sees the weight loss way before we do ourselves and its also a great reminder of where to not go back to! I only wish I'd also kept one pair of trousers as a reminder lol !!
  • Wow that's amazing now please promise yourself you won't put it back on again. You are a real inspiration. Thank you :-)
  • That's a great recipe Keem88 it's mine too - works every time :-)
  • I would definitely say you need more protein but probably more carbs as well with the excellent circuit training you do :-)
  • To be honest with all the exercise you're doing I don't think you are eating enough! I'm not a dietician but many times I've seen your problem on these boards and often it seems to be this. Not sure what your exercise is so no idea what is causing the leg problems. I'm in the UK so our diets are very different but please…
  • Hey go you - that is an awesome NSV - 2 miles before too long :) :)
  • It's a personal choice and I wouldn't de friend someone just because I can't see what they are eating. I have a small group of friends and our 'conversations' aren't all about food and exercise! We chat about all kinds of things but it is still motivational because you know they are on the same journey and it would be a…
