Well then, let's assume it does work.
-
just make room in your day for the number of calories in your drink...? why is it different from anything else you track?
-
It's not made by Apple. And I don't see why they'd base their whole product on being able to do 1 thing, and then it is not able to do that 1 thing. I guess we'll find out. I don't really see why there's any reason to doubt what it does, seeing as its accuracy can be verified pretty much instantly, by anyone who uses one.…

It's not a "diet", it's a gimmick designed to prove that calorie deficits always work, no matter the food. Just apply the same principal to regular food and you'll be much better for it and still lose weight.
-
Just buy the teas yourself at a regular tea or herb shop. Very inexpensive and enjoyable, but I wouldn't worry too much about detoxing unless you're a drug addict :P
-
Actually, medication can affect the way your body metabolizes fat and lower your BMR. Just sayin.
-
I haven't found this anywhere over hours of reading. Could you link please? I think it's worth it for me but definitely not if it doesn't work, lol.
-
I would do this except that my blender waaay maxes out the weight capacity of my scale, and most liquids I drink don't offer their measurements by weight (I guess I could measure 1 cup and weigh it and remember the weight, I spose)
-
Many, many reviewers, using controls and very similar liquids (i.e. it can detect you've added 2 tbsp of simple syrup to a glass of OJ and updates the sugar/cals accurately) and so on. You can google any one of a hundred youtube demonstrations and blog reviews. It uses similar tech the FDA does to determine accuracy of…

Why does your husband call *kitten*? It's been demonstrated to work accurately. It is expensive for a cup, for sure, but it seems like pretty exciting technology.

Food addiction is a real thing. Junk food is palatable, your body craves it once it tastes it because it recognizes it as a rich source of calories (which the hypothalamus and other survival-related systems thinks is a good thing). Every time you eat it, especially to excess, you are reinforcing this habit neurologically.…

It is possible to eat too little, but the main concerns of it are a) not eating enough to get minimum nutrient requirements such as protein and vitamins and b) degeneration of organs and bodily functions. B in particular is the health concern of starving - losing weight isn't starving, degeneration of your body's base…

nah man, I'm not worried about making it low calories. All that fat is what makes it delicious and nutritious, I'll just eat less of it. I just figure most of the chicken stock entries on MFP are fat free and mine isn't
-
Well, yeah. Your calorie goals for the day should stay the same, you just have more calories for other meals that you used to previously 'spend' on breakfast.
-
Ah, MFP. Home of the arm chair nutritionists, most of whom are scared to death of a starvation response that hasn't ever been noticeably measured in healthy humans. Keep truckin, OP. Good luck!

Slow cooker chicken recipes are the best thing that happened to my kitchen. I always dry it out otherwise.
-
No, skipping breakfast is fine. It is your end-intake that matters.

I got great results from a very lchf (keto) diet. I was satiated all the time, good skin, high energy, effortless fat loss. In the end I weaned myself off of it because I got bored of the food choices and not being to dine out. I would recommend giving it a try and really sticking with it for a couple weeks at least, you…

Why don't you just make the recipe... and not put in the banana? I throw in a bunch of ice to give my shake texture, as well as some heavy cream and peanut butter for thickness.

*laughs self into coma*

my free foods are black coffee and green tea. :P I do have periods where I don't log things, or I only log 1/2 of the stuff I eat the day because the other half is too difficult to calculate. This only works for any length of time because I logged EVERYTHING for months beforehand, so my estimations are pretty accurate.
-
cheap cuts of steak in the slow cooker with all sorts of garlic, onions, and herbs, shredded with a fork after 8 hours. uggghhhh. fantastic. isopure whey is also dessert-status when blended with milk, a little heavy cream, and peanut butter.

most young people really have to try hard to have 'too much sodium'. though i guess like you said, you're unhappy and feeling bloated... 1. drink lots of water 2. find low sodium substitutes 3. work up a sweat 4. consume more potassium personally i'm a proponent of consuming lots of sodium, but if you also eat moderate or…

bacon, bacon, and more bacon ;) usually I skip breakfast though, or blend some butter and coconut oil in my coffee.

healthy fats are great for weight loss and health, but ultimately what matters is that you stick to your calorie goals. people's macros vary wildly based on their goals and diet, so what's over for you isn't over for someone else who's doing just fine - 80% of my diet is fat.
-
The ratios of omega fats in grass fed vs factory farmed dairy is radically different, as well as grass fed being rich in vitamin k2 and anti-inflammatories. factory farmed butter is meh, grass fed butter is a superfood. http://authoritynutrition.com/grass-fed-butter-superfood-for-the-heart/

yep, ON is super delicious! Are you vegan? if not, then avoid soy - it's really hard to make soy protein taste good, might as well go with the whey. Blending it with milk, peanut butter, ice, bananas, etc, is basically a milkshake. Yum.

Excess sugar DOES cause metabolic syndromes and problems not seen in excess consumption of other macronutrients. Do a little reading on leptin, ghrelin, and insulin. Sugar has a very specific effect on insulin which changes the body's ability and capacity to store fat, use fat, etc. Putting your hands over your ears as if…

Agave is sugar. It's almost entirely fructose, which is really not great for you. If you care about the purity and environmental impact of your sugar, sure, 'natural' sugars like local honey are better. But metabolically it's all the same.

There is nothing inherently healthy or weight-loss-causing about protein shakes... Why replace a meal? Just eat a meal. I make protein shakes because they're convenient and a fast way to get a lot of protein in if I haven't had enough, but if you have time then just sit down and eat food you don't hate. However, I will say…
