  • I'm 22 now and about the shape you used to be and I want to do what you did. Thanks for the inspiration that it is possible and for the motivation by showing us how big a difference it can make. (I also LOVE that dress you're wearing, the one that's long in the back but shorter at the front.)
  • Have you spoken to a doctor about your period? There might also be something else going on... Try eating as much as you can and slowly increasing it week by week.
  • What you're eating is healthy in general but obviously too little, maybe try increasing the portion size? Add mayo/cheese to the sandwiches, have peanutbutter with your apple, have a banana milkshake with breakfast, have chocolate sprinkles on your cereal. Little things like that can add calories easily while still…
  • There's a bunch of posts on tumblr (and I'm sure elsewhere) of people describing how weak and generally bad they're feeling when following this diet and how they're unable to get out of bed etc, it makes me sad. Don't do it. (There's also people counting potatoes as vegetables and therefore 0 - I could stuff my face with…
  • I'd probably eat less/low cal but not nothing. For example, I'd have a salad and a small portion of protein for lunch and an apple as a snack later, that'd be maybe 200-300 cal, leaving you plenty of calories for dinner but won't leave you starving.
  • I find that confusing too but I've had people assure me it's fairly common (as it's not a huge difference)... edit: and the reason I'm aiming guessing 1700 would be a good number for me to loose weight at, because it's kinda in between. My TDEE at my goal weight is also around 1700 so it'd be nice to be able to keep the…
  • I started at about 210 and am around 5'6 I think. Feel free to add me for mutual encouragement.
  • I'm a nerd! Feel free to add, everyone. I love Dr Who, anything that's got Star in the name and books in all variations.
  • Mmm Hemp looks like a good option, cheaper than whey. Do people lean towards flavoured or unflavoured ones? I would think that unflavoured ones would be more flexible in use but do they have a strong taste of their own?
  • I'm an omivore really but the whey ones seem comparatively more expensive and I'm a poor student. I don't know enough about that kind of thing to be able to tell if the difference is worth it. I'm doing cardio (about an hour a day in different forms, swimming, walking, exercise vids etc) and body weight strength training,…
  • I opened mine because I found looking at other people's diaries interesting... I've not had an unsolicited comments on it yet (in fact, I've had no comments on it)... I understand people who don't want to open theirs but I'll end up interacting with them on a different level...
  • Brussel sprouts, potatoes, butter, bacon bits in a bake with a gratin sauce (like you'd make potato gratin) or just some egg or sour cream, top with some cheese. Not exactly low cal but if you're counting, just have the sprouts without the potatoes maybe?
  • Maybe I'm a little confused about what eating clean means, but looking through your diary, it doesn't seem like you're doing it? Can you explain to me what you mean? I'm happy to support people so if you look through my diary and want to, send me a friend request.
  • Cook with it. Use Indian sauces or make it spicy with jalapeños and spices. Then have with rice, brown bread or on its own. Maybe add some grated cheese. Yummy.

  • I'm 172cm and my goal is around 60kg to be at mid BMI ... I think 45kg is very low. 71kg should be at the upper range of a healthy BMI for you. I hate to have be one one of those people. But maybe try focussing on toning/strength training and loosing fat and gaining muscle instead?
  • I would always log ketchup because I always thought it was fairly high in sugar? I don't log the milk I have in tea because its not as much but if I have coffee I'll log the milk because its a lot more, not the coffee though. I also don't always log oil I use for cooking though I admit I probably should even if I use…
  • I try that but sometimes find it hard when I've gone over by too much one day. Of course, if you anticipate the extra on weekends, that'll make it easier. The iPad app (and maybe other mobile apps?) allow for a "weekly" view of macros and calories that show the weekly average which is helpful.

  • Fish is good. Steam the fish along with the vegetables and cook brown rice. Have with soy sauce or a light sweet chilli sauce. Otherwise, cook healthy meals (like a healthy chilli, stews, etc) and freeze so you only have to microwave. About once a month I do a massive shop and cook three things and freeze them so I'll have…
  • Their burgers look yummy. (I'm British but was curious so had to look up their menu). If you leave the bun (they make it sound like you can customize your order so just order without), you can get all the nice insides. I'd go with chicken or turkey burgers for lean meat and then whatever I wanted amongst those. Have a side…
  • The fruit ones definitely are yummy, not sure how they are on the calories though. Stick stuff in a blender? Whatever you want, really. I'm not too keen on blending meats but any vegetables should be good. Depending on how much water you use, it's either a sauce for potatoes or pasta or a soup.

  • I'm a bit confused on what PB2 is? Looks like a powder? How do I use it?
  • Yay! I can't wait to go down a size, I have so many things that just won't fit now. Well done on getting there. :)
  • I net 1400 a day normally, could also do with some more friends.
  • Well done on doing exercise regularly then. I've recently started doing more strenuous exercises than I'm used to and IT HURTS. But it'll be worth it. I've never used an eliptical but maybe you could try using a lower speed? Or take a day off from the elliptical and take a nice long walk instead? Maybe 30min if you have…
  • Well, what cardio are you doing? Maybe just do something a little easier instead for a couple of days? That way you're remaining active without causing damage to yourself.
  • What is Angel Food Cake? Never heard of it! Alternatively, if you want to avoid foods, you could just spend a little more on a present? Also, regarding my earlier post, make sugar free jelly in fun molds and arrange between the fruits in a fruit salad.
  • Fruit salad? If you put enough effort in, you can carve up a melon in a way that allows you to put candles in it. Put the whole thing on a nice platter and serve. Will there be other people? Maybe cover some fruit in dark chocolate to make it look more fancy. Dark chocolate isn't that unhealthy either.
  • No, BMR depends on weight so as you loose weight/fat your BMR sinks. Although of course, generally BMR calculators don't take into account body fat which makes a differences as muscle uses more energy. So as your weight or body composition changes, your BMR changes.
  • Oh that's a really good idea, I never thought the butchers counter might be cheaper. I always try to buy in bulk/when meats are on 3 for £10. I found that turkey seems one of the cheapest meats so that might be worth trying to eat more. Also, check out the supermarket websites. Some supermarkets don't always have…
