  • Starting weight: 180.2 Goal weight: 145lb ish Current weight: 175.2 Weight loss this week: 0.5lb Total weight lost: 5 lb Successes - I have logged every binge (including the ones I really wanted to pretend didn't happen Challenges - not feeling great and a bad time at work have definitely led to a few rather embarrassing…
  • last week I did w7d2 of the C25k programme and felt very out of breath and sweaty at the end of it. Today I did w7d3 and sailed straight through it. And I had the treadmill set to a higher speed! I usually get to about the end of week 7 and then quit before restarting the programme again at a slightly higher speed a couple…
  • Starting weight: 180.2 Goal weight: 145lb ish Current weight: 175.7 Weight loss this week: 0.8lb Total weight lost: 4.5 lb Successes - was feeling a bit 'blah' about the scale not moving so checked my measurements. Have lost 5 cm from my hips and 3cm from my waist! Challenges - the weather is revolting and I just want to…
  • its normal to get a bit frustrated when the weight loss slows. The 8 lb starting loss is fantastic but a large amount of it was likely water and you can only lose that once! I get annoyed when things slow down and have to remind myself that I didn't get fat in two weeks and I can't lose it in two weeks either. I'm…
  • I've been getting a bit down recently because the scale really doesn't seem to want to shift so I decided to dig out the tape measure. Despite only having lost 3 lb in 5 weeks I've lost 5cm off my hips and 3 cm off my waist. Have to remind myself that this will take time!
  • I don't have a specific piece of clothing in mind but have always wanted to be able to wear a shirt tucked into jeans without having a lumpy bumpy belly
  • I'm checking in a little early because I'm starting night shifts tomorrow and that always throws my readings around a bit. Starting weight: 180.2 Goal weight: somewhere around the 145lb mark Current weight: 176.5 Weight loss this week: 0.5lb Total weight lost: 3.5 lb This week's successes: I'm actually quite happy with…
  • Not sure if this counts but today I threw away a chocolate bar that I opened and didn't particularly enjoy. Normally I would have finished it off even whilst thinking 'eurgh'. I was always taught not to waste food so I find it a challenge to stop eating when I'm either full or not enjoying something. Even worse the…
  • I'm in. Got 2/3rds of the way to goal a couple of years ago before stalling out and regaining the lot due to binge eating Starting weight: 180.2 Goal weight: somewhere around the 145lb mark but since I haven't been that size since my early teens I'll re-evaluate when I get nearer Current weight: 170 Total weight lost: 3 lb…
  • if I'm just bored and wanting to nibble I hit visualbmi.com or the boards on here to remind myself what I'm working towards. If I'm genuinely hungry then its a slice of wholegrain with peanut butter to fill enough of the gap so that I'll sleep. Roll on breakfast time!
  • hi, I'm 5'6" and touching 180lbs. I previously lost 30lbs on MFP but the weight's crept back on due to work stress and post-grad exam revision. I'm determined to shed at least the 30lbs I've put back on and would love friends who are heading down a similar path.
  • pre-log pre-log pre-log I munched my way through a bag of strawberry bonbons (not a particularly big bag I thought). Went to log it to find it contained 900+ calories. No that is not a typo. I could have cried. I like bonbons but not 900 calories of like. I even checked a different brand in the supermarket just in case the…
  • Its something of an academic question if you are in this for the long haul. Even 20, 30, lbs in etc you'll still have days where you have dramatic shifts in your weight which could be attributed to water. I sometimes wonder which is partly why I weigh daily so I can see the fluctuations. Even if part of what you've lost is…
  • I flip my goals to keep myself interested e.g. my first goal was to get my BMI under 30, then it was to lose half a stone (7lbs) then it was to get my weight under 80kg etc etc. By constantly changing the goal from BMI, body fat, stones, lbs, kgs there is always a goal just within reach and I remain motivated. Other things…
  • Terry's chocolate orange - once my go too chocolate for being able to have a little and then put the rest back for later it has turned into my *I am unable to control my urges* kind of food. I'm not even going to own up to how quickly I just ate that but needless to say I feel sick and sickened. Never again
  • Nope because I don't have room to keep ever expanding amounts of 'stuff' and I'd find it really depressing. I do however buy clothes that are just a touch too snug for comfort because I know that in two weeks they'll fit perfectly (but in two weeks I probably won't have time to go shopping). There also comes a point when…
  • weirdly enough after reading that I feel nauseated at the thought of eating them. Aversion therapy at its best lol
  • ok, sensations crisps officially need to be buried at the bottom of the dumpster. I have no self control and will (and have) eat the entirety of a family 'share' bag. Until I can actually open the bag without feeling the urge to eat the entire thing I just can't have them in the house. Mmmmmm, thai chilli flavour, *droool*
  • this was really interesting. Bumping so I can read and re-read later. Thanks
  • I'm keeping one pair of trousers and a top from the start. Not to wear again but to show to me how much things have changed. When I feel like I'm not getting anywhere I put them back on. The pants only just about stay up, I certainly couldn't wear them in public. Good luck on your size 14s :)
  • if you like Lindsey Stirling have you tried The Piano Guys and Peter Hollens. Both have done duets with Lindsey and are really good.
  • I kept trying celery because I kept being told how good it is for you blah blah blah. To me it tastes like dirt smells. It makes me gag. Coriander/cilantro has the same effect, tastes like compost. I hate eating out at indian restaurants because its in everything. Celery tends to be put in the stews etc which is a real…
  • chocolate. definitely chocolate. I can quite happily chomp through snack bars as well. Something about the combo of sweet and carb. Drool. Now going to bed before I reach for the stash:ohwell:
  • off topic slightly but where do you get your Aduki beans from? I just bought a can today and they were 70p, if I could get them cheaper it would majorly effect my diet. I know I can buy beans dried and they're cheaper but struggle with time and the cans are more convenient
  • This is hysterical!!!. It makes me think of the little fat blobs off an episode of Dr Who. Will remember for when dying on the treadmill
  • I'm dumping turkey. I don't care if its low fat and much cheaper than chicken, it tastes revolting.
  • that was the first thing I thought too! Congrats on your weight loss so far
  • Brilliant news, so happy for you. I hope everything goes smoothly so you can be up and running (so to speak!) by Feb 14.
  • My goals this week are to: 1. drink my water bottle x2 each day (I'm rubbish at getting enough to drink) 2. keep under my daily calorie allowance whilst still eating proper meals 3. keep on track with my C25k challenge - (loving it!) 4. try not to get too fixated on the numbers - the weight will come off but fluctuations…
