I own and have used the fit bit now for 2 years. It gives me steps and calories burned all day. I also use a HRM. The HRM is only accurate when you are in an active state, so wearing it all day is not going to give you an accurate all day read. I have compared the two readings and feel like each is accurate for what it is…

Thank you, everyone. This has definitely cleared things up some. The links have also been great. I will be refering back to them alot in the near future, I am sure. My main purpose of getting the HRM was to improve my running performance. I use a fitbit to do the keep a check on my calories. I will say, they match the…

A while back I tried the Nike in the shoe thing and my only issue with it was you had to be in motion. It would pause if you stopped walking or running. It was more like a HRM, more for excerise than for all day wear. I use a fibit, and love it. I am hoping to get a HRM for Christmas.

I'm in. Sounds like a great way to push myself a little. I did a half marathon in the middle of May. Since then I have been doing a lot of walking but not a lot of running. I need to get it in gear again. I have another half scheduled for Nov. I want to be ready. This will be a gentle build up for when I have to get really…

The Fitbit is not water proof. Do not put it through the wash. If this is an issue and you have to replace your damaged fitbit, buy it through Best Buy and buy there replacement warranty.

This week 12 miles.

I do hand weights in conjunction with an exercise ball and change it up with resistance bands. Don't let the little elasitc bands fool you, if you use the right resistance you can hurt yourself.

I have and use a Fitbit. I love it but it counts steps. When you are weight lifting you are not moving enough for it to register much. You can go on the website and add an activity record and it will adust to accomidate for that. Neither one of the devices you've mentioned are heart monitor. So you are not going to get…

Week 3 for me: 22 Miles This reflects my very 1st 1/2 marathon. I went to N. Myrtle Beach this weekend with a great group of ladies and ran my first half marathon. Beat my hoped for time and am going to reward myself with a massage today. I have signed up for another 1/2 marathon in Nov. in Savannah, GA. I am so excited.

You should check these out. http://www.h2oaudio.com/store/surge-sportwrap-2g-waterproof-headphones.html They were designed for swimmers but when I run I get as sweatty as if I had been swimming. I believe with a little of surfing you could find them cheaper. I have not used these but I do have a pair on order. I ordered…

Please count me in for May. I had such a great time in April that I think this is a great way to keep me going. I am planning to do 75 miles.

Week 4 : 25 miles April total 89 Yay!! I met my goal Now for my first 1/2 Marathon next month, and life will be complete.(at least until I think of a new form of torture)

I am doing the Diva Run in Myrtle Beach. Very flat and should be warm. Thank goodness the race starts early so it shouldn't be too bad. I am also doing the Rock and Roll in Savannah. I am doing the 1/2 marathon for both. Haven't decided if I am going to attempt a Full Marathon yet. don't know if the legs can take that much…

I am signed up for my first mud run this coming Saturday. I am very excited to do this.

This week I logged 16 Miles. Not as many as I had hoped for but nothing to sneeze at either. That should be 64 for the month so far and 11 to go.

You ought to look at Athleta. It is a division of Gap. Their suits are not cheap but they are well made and are made to last. Some of the tops are even support enough to jog or play volley ball in. I have 2 suits from them and think the money was well spent.

Week #2 is 25 miles.

The morning I went and had the BodPod BF measurement, I weighed myself on my WII Fit. It was only off by about .4 lbs. I feel very confident about what my Wii Fit reads. Don't always like it but feel confident.

April Week 1 - 22.50 miles

My first HM will be May 20th. The Diva Run in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Very nervous, but the training is going great.
-
Me too, please. I am new to this group but I am training for a 1/2 marathon so I will commit to 75 miles. That is scary but it will keep me moving.

Also, once you have connected the FitBit with MFP, FitBit can make adjustments to your calorie burned. For example, if you claim that you walked 10 miles and MFP gives you 200 calories, FitBit will adjust you up to compensate for what it calculates you burned. FitBit will never take away from you if you over calculate but…

I have been using a FitBit since Dec. The FitBit is a great tool but it is not a heart monitor. It tells you total steps for the day, floors climbed, calories burned based on 3 different activity levels and it tells you how active you have been in the last 5 minutes. You can record activities and it tell you specifically…

I am new to this group and I think it sounds great. I am in for 40 hours. I am training for my first 1/2 Marathon and I have a feeling I will be putting in the time.

Could be water retention. If your muscles are not use to the exercise they could be pulling muscle to help heal them. I am by no means an expert. I wouldn't get to upset right yet and give it some more time. On a different subject, why do you say you are jogging as opposed to running? Just interested to know when does a…

I, too, have had 3 children and that definitely gives me the bouncies. I have found exercise clothes with strong spandex does the trick. I have also invested in high impact compression bras from Champion. They are the devil to squirm into but boy do they hold the girls in place. Good luck.

Yes film containers are hard to find but that is what the "container Store" is for. Heaven for geocachers. So many possibilities. They are brick and mortar stores and they also are online.
