I second the vote for the "diabetic diet" of 45g carbs per meal, and 15g carbs per snack. A diet with this pattern that incorporates fruits, vegetables, low-fat protein will lead to weight loss. How "low carb" is she eating? With type 2 it's important to eat enough carbs to prevent hypoglycemia. Every time you get a low,…

Picture yourself finishing your workout and think of how AWESOME it will feel!! Just take one step at a time... first put on your workout gear, then head to the gym. Once you're there, you might as well work out, right?! You can do it. When you're finished you will feel so accomplished!!

When I saw this I immediately had to try it!! Waiting for mine to be done in the freezer right now :) Although it looks more like a shapeless blob, and not like the beautiful picture above lol. (A DELICIOUS shapeless blob though!!)

Hey there, I am studying to be a dietitian (I'll have my credentials by this time next year, hopefully!) and I would recommend seeing if you can set up some sort of appointment with an RD. They'll go over what types of foods you normally eat, talk about your lifestyle, and really help you make personalized goals. This…

Hey, I'm from Wisconsin and was there today! There were lots of bad-for-you options, but I was surprised that there were also many healthy options! One booth was called Fit Fresh Cuisine, and they had turkey burger sliders and pitas that were pretty good. There were also multiple places with fruit and salads. You should…

When I was training for a marathon and doing the 14, 16, 18, 20 mile runs, I always pictured myself crossing the finish line at the race when I got tired/bored. Just imagining how great it would feel to accomplish my goal gave me that adrenaline to keep going. I definitely agree with other posters that running outside is…

I'm 22 also! And hate to cook, so I make sure to stock up on quick, easy to grab foods. Fresh veggies are great (baby carrots, sugar snap peas, etc.) and so are apples, bananas, etc. I also like to get single serving pouches of nuts, yogurt, cottage cheese, 100 calorie packs, oatmeal packets, Skinny Cow ice cream desserts,…

Done! That was easy! And I'm excited to see the stats!

My aerobics professor actually told us something similar, except she said that 30 minutes gives you maximum benefit. However this is referring to cardiovascular benefit. Longer cardio still burns more calories, so that's a definite benefit!! Just make sure you don't overdo it :)

OMG this is awesome! Thinking about printing it out and keeping it somewhere... thanks for posting!! :)

I would actually recommend the Tostitos bite-size round chips. They're a good portion, 24 of them for only 140 calories!!

I'm a college student!! About to graduate though. My major is dietetics and I'm going on to become a registered dietitian... so I'm trying to follow my own advice and lose a few pounds lol!!
