  • I do too! It's part of why I started on here. It is such a fascinating show, I always wonder about how people could lie to themselves so hardcore; I knew I was eating too much sugar before I started on here, and it wasn't too surprising how much too much I was eating.
  • This doesn't work for some people, but I do yardwork as the bulk of my exercise. Shoveling, moving and spreading 10-12 wheelbarrows of gravel, or mowing or weed-whacking an acre, or moving heavy rocks and pickaxeing out a firepit, building up raised beds for a garden, etc. are all fantastic workouts, and my yard looks…
  • Two things: That much exercise can cause your body to hold on to water weight, so losses in fat may not be shown on the scale because your body is retaining some water. Also, you aren't hitting 1200 calories in the days you log (and aren't logging every day). 1200 is okay as a bare minimum, unless you're very very short,…
  • I am; I'm set to net 1540 a day, and I eat most of my exercise calories back (if I'm hungry enough I'll eat them all, but if not I'll make sure I net over 1200 at the very least), and I've steadily lost around a pound a week. I'm 5'7.5".
  • Exercise doesn't have to be miserable to be effective. Keep up the good work!
  • What "toxins" or "impurities" are you getting rid of? Seriously, try to define those words in relation to your fasting; what are you actually getting rid of, specifically, a list of item a, item b, item c? Where is the medical backing for you having an excess of these specific "toxins", and needing to get rid of them?
  • I'd seek out a therapist that specializes in eating disorders, and speak to your doctor if you have one (they may be able to refer you to a therapist as well). I'd also think about whether anything specific precipitated your starting to purge, or if there's anything ongoing in your life that is causing you serious stress…
  • Thank goodness you hired someone sane, I'm so glad for you!
  • I just look down at my belly; I don't like it at all, and it getting smaller and smaller always makes me feel like it's worth keeping up the good fight.
  • I'm planning on getting a reduction when I've had kids (no sense remodeling a house right before an earthquake, right?), at 34G my breasts are disproportionate to the rest of me and are so heavy that if I don't use very specific bra types, I get crippling migranes from the weight. That said, doubling up on sports bras is…
  • Are you eating enough fat? You do need fat to function, especially in terms of vitamin absorption and healthy brain function. Your cravings may subside if you consume more healthy fats in your diet. You can also dim a chocolate craving by supplementing with selenium, but only if it fits in with your overall vitamin/mineral…
  • Only 32 so far, but it's a good start!
  • Richard Simmons is my mood guru. Teaching you to value yourself and get up and move because you're worth taking care of is a wonderful message and he always peps me up to keep going!
  • If you feel like you're spending too much time on a computer logging, carry a little flip-open notebook and pen with you; you can jot down what you ate, and fill all the meals in later on. That'll give you a better idea of what you eat, which is always handy to have!
  • It took me about a year to be successful with it, but I had to force myself to only eat a serving size, or half a serving size, of my trigger foods. Those tend to be candy, especially candy that is in small pieces like malted milk balls or individual chocolates. I could eat those until I'm sick, but I spent a lot of time…
  • At least 500 of my regular calories, plus whatever exercise calories I've chalked up for the day.
  • I love the feeling of clothes fitting well in a size you didn't think would fit, I hope I can laugh my butt off (pun intended!) just like you someday :) Way to go!
  • Excess salt could be involved too; almost anything that is processed or involved in eating out tends to be higher in sodium. See if cutting down your sodium intake (not too much, we all need sodium) for a while and drinking lots of water, as well as green tea (natural diuretic) or peppermint tea, helps. Worse case…
  • Good for you! (that's the only response you should get for news like a respectable weightloss and enjoying a tasty treat, anyone who says otherwise is a jerk) :)
  • Fried chicken, and Morning Star Farms chicken nuggets/buffalo nuggets. I'll eat them until I'm sick. I can handle a few candies, a half cup of ice cream, a piece of bread, a piece of pizza, etc., but I'll eat fried chicken or those nuggets all day long.
  • I'm in the same goal weight boat; I feel good at 160-165, so that's what I"m aiming to get back to. I've got a bit further to go than you though, right at 190 right now.
