Worse for what, exactly?

There has to be, for equivalent calorie count, you can't have a disparity in just one macro. There are different assumptions about what the right macro mix is. There is no definitive answer. Or more exactly - there is no one size fits all answer. Some people do better upping carbs. Others do better upping fats. Still…

OP already addressed that directly: "I eat mostly low carb high fat foods because of the satiety"

Unless you are in exceptional shape, almost certainly they are a significant over-estimate.
-
Not even close.

The best thing is a calibrated diet, plus whatever forms of exercise you'll actually do, on a consistent basis. Some of us are designed for endurance, some of us are designed for strength, others are designed for every point between the extremes. The imperfect program you stick with is better than the perfect program you…

What do you mean by "can't"? That they'll literally die if all they had access to was low carb?
-
If you're good at 3 miles and bonked before completing the 8 mile, you can estimate your calorie shortfall. Let's say the bonk happened at mile five, three miles worth of calories short. You want to do a half, add another 5 miles on top of that, for a total of 8 miles worth of calories. We're assuming glycogen stores are…

By placing my hand on the neck of the Don Julio bottle, and not letting go. The Don Draper diet is surprisingly effective....

TIL that Stevia is a superfood.

Replacing it with ice cream works for me.

Too *kitten* many, lol.

First time I had an In & Out burger, it blew my mind. But that was 30 years ago, and the world has moved on. When you can burgers served on handmade brioche buns and laced with foie gras, a place like I&O seems pretty ordinary. Ditto for 5G, Shake Shack, etc. If you want a genuine burger experience in Vegas, go find a…

I can *easily* do that. Pretty sure I'm not a unicorn...

It's totally fine.

A couple of thoughts come to mind from this... 1. The "2 day refeed with lots of carbs" is very consistent with my personal experience. 2. We see this all the time on MFP - people are terrible at figuring out their actual maintenance calories when they are outside the normal healthy body fat zones. In actual practice, most…

First, taking all this as being legit...what you need is proper medical advice, not random posters on a chat board. Second...you can't do it. You need a deficit of ~1200 calories a day to get there, which means you could eat literally nothing for 3 months and still not lose that much weight in that amount of time.

I don't manage weight to hit a number - I hit a weight number so I can do something I otherwise wouldn't. IE - weight loss isn't the goal - weight loss is what I need to do to reach the *actual* goal.
-
By doing it first thing, I can't "get lazy" and not do it later.

Not a fan, didn't find it much like meat. Impossible Burger is better, for my taste.
-
Doesn't matter. Just do it consistently the same way each time.
-
IMO the problem is that you're in the wrong place. If you want to make it easier to chose a salad, you need to be in front of a menu where there are actually GOOD salads on the menu. Otherwise you're pushing a boulder up hill.

Calculators are estimates based on averages and curve fitting. OP is using actual numbers for her actual body and experience - that will lead to more accurate understanding.
-
Honestly, what's the point even?
-
Everybody says that. Open your diary, we can help you debug the issue.

There's going to be a bunch (3-8 pounds maybe) of initial weight loss that's essentially water weight that will come back once you're on maintenance. So you'll want to take that off the total weight loss, which will shrink your TDEE "a bunch". If you go with the 8 pound number, you're looking at dropping TDEE by 3500…

Pretty sure the "study" that came from has been obliterated. The numbers are *far* more depressing than that. Roughly speaking, an average height person deadlifting 300 pounds is burning about half a calorie (0.5 calories) per lift.

What I recall is you coming to the board with a problem, looking for help. And then getting rude and defensive with people who were very polite to you and offered help, for no reason other than it wasn't what you wanted to hear. And yeah, you did ask about your intake - it's implicit to the question you asked. Enjoy your…

It's also probably true.

And yet here you are, asking questions...
