I can only eat berries, basically. Every other fresh fruit? Forget it. Gotta cook 'em all. Vegetables I'm fine with. It blows huge chunks, because I'd love to throw a piece of fruit in my lunch for a snack. Pain in the @$$. FML. I sneak one or two cherries when they're in season because I can't resist, but any more than…

1) This is the internet, I am not a doctor, so see a doctor. 2) Allergic reactions to exercise do exist. If you see your doctor and s/he says this is what it is, s/he will probably recommend an anti-histamine.

I mean, you can... do you have a chainsaw perhaps? If you take up weight lifting and do a recomp, you might see some positive changes in the way your legs look.

5'9", currently 133lbs, size 4-6. Hoping to run out my "noob gains" with my lifting program and see where that gets me, and then maybe run a bulk. Definitely not looking to lose any more weight! I started out at over 200 lbs because I gained a whole lot during my pregnancy.
-
How long have you been lifting? Are you following a specific program? What does your diet look like, is it going to support muscle/size growth in general?
-
You're not in a calorie deficit, even though you think you are.

New Rules of Lifting for Women is a book, but I highly recommend buying it. If you have a library you have access to, you could check it out there, too. It was life changing for me. The program is excellent and all of the information in it is on point and useful. ETA: If you choose to use a Bodybuilding.com program, be…

+1 for starting a good, solid beginner full-body strength program like Strong Lifts. Lifting will help with getting you the results you're looking for. I'm terrible at estimating body fat percentage. If you're really interested, it might be worthwhile to see if there is a BodPod or DEXA available in your area. They run…

Standing ovation from me, sir, standing ovation.

Stronglifts 5x5 is a good routine to start out with, but if you want to gain appreciable size (aside from newbie gains) you're going to have to eat more than your TDEE. Essentially, eat more, lift heavy. I'm on my phone so I can't help with links, but if you Google Stronglifts and a TDEE calculator you should be able to…

100mg 2x a day, taking it for two different types of seizures. I expect to be taking it for life as well. I haven't talked to my doctor yet because I have not had a follow-up appointment (it's in July). I go through phases where I'm hungry/get cravings, and I try to eat as much as I can during those times, but they're few…

Problem is I'm not hitting maintenance most days, but yes, you're right. I do need to keep snacks at my desk at all times. And you're also right about NDJ, he's awful about pushing that icecream. Obviously a shill for the dairy farms.

FTFY.

Improving your grip strength is an option as well. Dead hangs and farmer's walks will do that. Straps will help with getting the weight up in the meantime, but it's a good idea to bring up your grip strength to match what the rest of your body can do.

I had undiagnosed epilepsy and was unable to be active during my pregnancy. I had a "poor me" mentality, ate too much to comfort myself, and as a result gained way too much weight. It took me two years to get the weight off. I'm on the right medication right now, which causes its own issues, but I'm trying my best to…

I feel like judgy pants should look like this: You know, just to warn people.

I think some people enjoy starting train wrecks :disappointed:

I'm drinking Tim Hortons coffee out of a Starbucks cup right now :naughty: I found Tim Hortons k-cups at my local grocery store this weekend and was faaaaar more excited than I probably should have been. I moved down to the United States from Canada 5 years ago and haven't had Tim Hortons coffee in a very long time, so to…

Bravo! Congratulations! I'm so glad you went!

:kissing_heart: I like hip thrusts, especially while making eye contact and grunting loudly. But I gotta give my vote to deadlifts. They make me feel big and strong.

Mondetta Performance Gear (MPG) stuff from TJ Maxx. Their stuff is redonkulously expensive if you buy it online, but from TJ's it runs in the $15-30 range and is durable/comfortable/stylish.

Do you already have a strength training program you plan to follow?
-
Don't worry! You're not alone, it can be very intimidating! Is there a trainer you can book for one session to "show you the ropes"? Can you start with dumbbells instead of the bar? Otherwise, just take a deep breath and go for it! 99 times out of a hundred the guys in that area doing their thing aren't going to think…

Craiglist is definitely where it's at for home gym stuff! The biggest of high fives for your accomplishments! For flooring, check out horse stall mats! Very, very durable, and generally cheaper than gym mats. :innocent:

You call yourself helpful, I call you a *kitten*.

Deep dish or Sicilian?

Grapeseed oil does great at high temps too. Stay away from olive oil. +1 on the pizza stone, makes all the difference.
-
yesssssss except I'm so not hungry by the end of the day I think I might vomit if I try to cram it in there. maybe I should keep it at work and have it at lunch/mid-afternoon instead? time of day really doesn't matter, right? and who in their right mind is going to steal my gelato from the work freezer?

Late to the show, but I wanted to say that the vast majority of the people mentioned here have either directly or indirectly influenced my eating or lifting habits and I owe a great deal to them. Not sucking up, I swear, but thank you all for your seemingly infinite patience.

Not even a toss-up (ha! see what I did there?!): Sicillian.
