Fantastic story and truthfully, you look great in all photos - your confidence shines. Congrats on your fabulous success on all counts.

The sweet onion sauce. On anything. It has a strange almost unnatural flavor but I don't care. Sometimes I crave it.

The tip link is great - good ideas and pretty much how I started. I started logging last thanksgiving - really. November and December were easier for me than August. Maybe because in the winter holidays, you are indoors, sitting at a table rather than milling around (which for me leads to snacking).

Fantastic! You look great!

Another vote for quit smoking first. 8 years smoke free. Still miss it. Know I can never smoke again. Gained weight but too bad - quitting was more important. Quitnet.com is a good resource - it helped me a lot. Misery loves company and it is nice to know that you are not alone. It does get better. Good luck to you!

Very good point! Probably is not helping things.

Your guts will adjust. I boosted the fiber even more, added prunes (recommended by my nutritionist) and over time, it got better. Keep the water up. If the sorbitol in the prunes does not work, there are always sugar free satan bears with lycasin (just kidding).

Plan and think. Pack some healthy snacks. If you are planning a big meal, have a smaller breakfast. Don't beat yourself up if you have a splurge. And log. All of it. The good the bad and the ugly. And of course have a great time!

Roll ups work well too - I found a good recipe at SkinnyTaste - Spinach Lasagna Rolls were great (and single serving too)

I made this last week: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/easy-crock-pot-chicken-and-black-bean.html It was quite tasty and not too bad on the calories. Could even wrap it in a tortilla and it would still be decent calories. Skinny taste has tons of good looking recipes and all the ones I have tried so far have been good.

These are great! Now I know why I just sing when I run.

Must agree with this point.

Hate to feed a zombie thread but cannot help myself. I am pretty sure that the original meaning of "food grade diatomaceous earth" is that it is safe to filter food (beer in particular), not that it is safe eat. It is the fossilized remains of diatoms (beautiful little algae). Google the images - they are almost like…

Ditto on the use the same scale. I would take it a bit further and say be sure to use the same scale at the Dr's office. The scale by my primary care dr is different than the one in the nutritionist's wing - there are at least 4 different scales in the office and they all weigh differently. Every Friday, I go the same…

Cucumber, onion and seasoned rice vinegar (Marukan seasoned rice vinegar) - easy to make and delicious. The cuc's are coming on in our garden - will probably eat one a day for a while.

Nicely done! Love the dress! Keep up the good work!

^This. A much nicer answer than my snarky quote.

Patience and persistence are the key. It took you a year to gain those 10 pounds, they are not going to disappear in a month. Lots of good advice- weigh or at the very least measure everything. In the long term, slow and steady will win out. I would give it more than a week - give yourself a month. I understand the…

No apologies necessary! Congrats! Some day (hopefully in a year and a half - that seems realistic) I will get there. Thank you for sharing your good news!

For the food, try adding USDA on to your search term for whole foods - it tends to be the most accurate. For eating out, check the restaurant website if it is a chain and confirm that the calories are correct. The restaurant web data is not always accurate either but at least it is close. I will also sometime search the…

Casu marzu according to Wikipedia. I have heard of it and hope to never have it. Please send me your octopus - I will take care of it for you. For weird/gross, chicken feet (not bad), pig tails and pig stomach in Spain (not bad - pig tails were good, stomach myeh but nice sauce). Durian flavored cookies (from a Taiwanese…

If you do not have a heart rate monitor, do your best estimate. If you are combining walking and jogging, I might go with "walking, 3.5 miles per hour, brisk pace". That will get you started anyway. I was quite bummed when I got my heart monitor - I was only burning half of what MFP said. Regardless, I lost weight so it…

A vote for the Dr Scholl's inserts specifically for plantar fasciitis. Plus flexing and stretching. It is a bag of suck - for a while, I thought I would fall when I would get up in the night to go to the bathroom. Bought some inserts, wore them to jazzercise, stopped on the way home to buy more. Now I don't wear shoes…

PB and J is a totally American thing - root beer too. Kind of like the American version of durian as far as I can tell. I would like to cast a vote for fig jam (not with peanut butter though) - it is fabulous.
-
Be honest with your logging - you are only cheating yourself. Plus all the other stuff that folks already said - all great advice.

I am going with it doesn't matter. I like to change up my breakfasts - in the winter, I did lots of oatmeal, now I am on a toast kick and I try to get some eggs from time to time. For the fast lunches, have you thought about getting one of those compartmentalized lunch containers? One time when my niece was visiting, I…

+3 It is not that bad and beats the heck out of undetected colon cancer. Not something to repeat regularly but in the interest of your health, a minor price to pay. Good luck to you - hope all goes well.

You can really see the difference in your face! Keep up the great work!

+1 and this is nothing new. I should have paid more attention to my mum but it is not too late. My mum starting logging her calories and doing aerobics 40 years ago when she turned 50. She maintained her weight between 120 and 130 for 30 years, When her weight crept up, out came the log. When she hit 80, it stopped being…
