The trouble with us though is that differentiating between head hunger and genuine hunger is so problematic for us. If a pt is 2 yrs out from surgery and consuming more calories than they are burning it won't be from hunger. Pt's regain by medicating with food regardless of their hunger status.

My BMR for age, sex and ht is 1350 per day(this is my current intake to maintain 146# at maintenance). I was on 850-950 while losing-this was a subtraction of 400 cals per day. Maybe for a 4'2" person you could calculate BMR and take off 400cals for your top intake calories?

Yay! I had my surgery right before the holidays and it worked out very well. I was forced to confront my eating addiction as I was exposed to holiday food and though not physically hungry I was amazed by the powerful desire to eat anyway. this really woke me up big time.

If you are measuring and weighing your food and not going over your 600 calories you WILL lose weight. After the first 30lbs it really slows down.

Yeah, I don't estimate. I only eat back the fitbit calories that report into my MFP. usually 260-400 exercise cals. I never guestimate exercise calories, those examples are way off for me. my BMR is 1350 so that is what I aim at per day with 300 extra if I earned the cals. I ate at 900 until I achieved maintenance.

sorry to shatter bubbles of hope but the belly, inner thigh, upper arm and pudenda fat are the last and least likely to leave unless you get to the lower end of normal wt for ht.

I have been accustomed to spending a whole trip on a bus or plane crammed against the bulkhead so my fat would not invade the other persons chair space. Now I find that the seats on planes and buses have plenty of room and I am never in danger of spilling over my own seat.
