  • I'm 1.5 years post op VSG and like everyone else I could tolerate mostly everything. Luckily, I have a hard time with ice cream or any other heavy dessert (this used to be a binge food for me). If I have a tiny serving, like a baby cone and eat very slowly, I'll be okay. If I eat more or quickly I get extreme nausea and…
  • So what I'm going to say, many of you may disagree with and maybe this doesn't apply to everyone, but I thought I should mention... I'm 9 months out at my goal weight which puts me in the normal range for my height (153), but I want to lose another 15/20 lbs so I've been trying to keep around 1200 calories. Also, I speed…
  • I'm about 4 months out now and I usually try to eat between 850-1000 calories. Part of my daily commute includes walking at least two miles and I do a lot of cardio on top of that including training for a 10k. I know some of you say that you eat 600-800 calories and workout and feel fine, but I definitely don't! Which…
  • I was up like 14lbs for a week post surgery- all water weight from the IV. I'm almost 4 months post-op and have lost about 50lbs now. Started at 238.8 :) Don't worry about it!
  • CW: 196.4 lbs GW: 180.0 lbs Exercise goal: be able to run 6 consecutive miles by labor day :)
  • Original Goals: CW: 220.4 GW: 190.0 Exercise goal: Finish c25k My results!!!! CW: 196.4 Exercise goal: Didn't finish c25k but followed by own running program... could totally run a 5k now (although a very slow one lol)!!!
  • You're doing great! I'm about to be at the 3 month mark too and I'm down 42.4 lbs. Congrats on getting to onederland :)
  • Sunday was my two month check in (surgery date: 4/8/2014) and I have lost 32.2lbs. Also, I went from a size 20 to a 16 now in pants.
  • Tuna with light mayo- I added onion and celery too... I know raw veggies are hit and miss at this point, but it's worth a try if allowed on your plan!
  • How long ago did you have surgery?
  • So glad we're doing another challenge! CW: 220.4 GW: 190.0 Exercise goal: Finish c25k
  • Good job everyone! SW: 238.8 GW: 220 Current Weight: 220.8 Missed goal by 0.8- I'm perfectly fine with it though!
  • Question about stalls lasting more than one week- do you guys still notice clothes getting loser even though the scale isn't moving? Any inches lost?
  • Iknowsaur- I'm totally with you. I'm 26 and my entire life I've been dreaming about being a normal weight. I got sleeved on 4/8 at 240lbs, 5'5.5" and my goal weight is 140. FYI my highest weight was 276. From my understanding, vsg alone will give you that 60% loss and to get to your goal you have to make it your priority…
  • OMG! Yes, I did a TON of research so I was prepared for everything besides the emotions!!! I had no idea this would affect me so much- one day I'm extremely happy because I realize that I will finally, for the first time in my life be able to accomplish the one thing that has held me back. THEN the next moment I realize,…
  • Hi Patty, I didn't use opti-fast, but I greatly questioned my ability to stick to my pre-op diet, especially the required three days of clear liquids before! I did get through it and you will too! Stay strong!
  • My clear liquid only diet was three days long- I was really worried about my ability to stick to it, but I did! Keep the end goal in mind and have plenty of sugar free jello and ice pops on hand- you can do it!
  • I'm in too =) CW: 238.8 GW: 220
  • So exciting!! Congrats and good luck =)

  • Hi Sonjakae- I'm actually going to Tijuana Mexico for my surgery on April 8th with Dr. Lopez. Cost is $4,200 plus airfare. Lots of people have had great results, you just need to make sure to do your research. I'd recommend looking up LessofSarah on youtube- she's from Canada as well and had surgery over a year ago in…
  • Yeah I've been trying to drink a lot of tea as well - it definitely helps! Also, having a bunch of samples from Nashua helps make it more interesting. Loving Syntrax right now =)
  • Good job! Today is my day one... so it's good to hear that the hunger subsides a few days into it. I'm pretty hungry right now and I know by dinner time I'll be ravenous! Having a hard time focusing at work too =(
  • Getting sleeved on April 8th... so I'm hoping this year I look okay enough to go swimming!! Haven't been swimming in over four years and I miss it soooo much!

  • I have about four weeks before surgery and two weeks before pre-op. This will be my third week coffee free- decided that I should stop now since as DrSchmincke said, better to deal with headaches while you can still take regular pills. Luckily I'm a black coffee kind of gal- so month after surgery I'm going straight back.…
  • Yeah I can't either...
