  • Wonderful inspiration.. I said that 2013 was going to be my year.. All those yrs of saying I'll start Monday are over.. I just completed W4D3 of C25k today - half way to running 5k.. Honestly, if someone had said I'd be running 5 mins straight 2 months ago I'd have laughed in their face.. Your story is a real inspiration…
  • Just completed Week 3. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Considering I thought Week 1 Day 1 was absolute hell... Nothing was as bad as that day so far. Don't concentrate on the time. Just run when your app says and don't think of anything bar the rythym till your app says to walk.. Music helps hugely.. Best of…
  • Hi All Started C25K and just did Week 3 Day 1 last night. Am running on a treadmill at the moment. I plan to finish the C25K on the treadmill and then start outside. My problem running is speed. I shoot off at 100 miles an hour and am exhausted after a minute.. I find the treadmill keeps me paced and I can manage the whole…
  • Read first one and half the second. Then got totally frustrated with the writing and gave up.. No storyline, nothing to keep your interest - bar if your reading it for the sex scenes, then you'd probably be ok.. Thought it was a crap book and I cannot believe anyone who reads as a hobby could actually think they are well…
  • Wish there was a "Like" button!! Well said.. If you want it enough, you will find the time...
  • Hi All I'm Orla from Dublin, Ireland. I'm a single mother to my 22yr old son. Growing up and through my 20's and early 30's I never had to worry about food or gaining weight.. In the last 8 / 10 yrs, suddenly I'm gaining weight and I have to watch my food intake and its something that I get really frustrated about. Have…
  • Bump Thanks for posting!!
  • Whats Charlie Horse?? In Ireland here.. Never heard that expression before!!
  • Huge thank you for posting. My brother suffers from depression and it shocked me when we started getting him really talking about stuff, the things that really brought him down and he brooded over. Things I'd brush off and carry on and forget, he was really analysing them and going over it and over it in his head. It…
  • Count me in too.. Have the app since May! Did W1 D1 once and it was actually not that bad.. Was surprised really. Then life got in the way and it fell by the way side. If I have a group to be accountable to - it may be the kick in the *kitten* to get out and do it.. (As I type I can hear the rain coming down in sheets!!…
  • Single. Have a 21 yr old son, but never got close to being married. Sometimes I'm happy being single, but as my son gets older and starts spreading his wings, I miss company - someone to share life with.. So maybe I'll settle down someday .... If I'm lucky that is.. lol
  • Only time for a quick scan.. Bumping to read later Thanks for this!!
  • Small boats.. Don't mind getting on ferries or big cruise ships, cause I think we have less chance of the sea overwhelming us and us sinking. Small boats - eh, no blinking way.. Terrified.. Also lift doors.. Think they are going to close on me and trap me so I am cut in half when the lift goes up.. - I know they can't…
  • Being Irish, I can confirm we definitely don't tailgate here. More than likely it will be lashing rain, freezing cold and only the really loyal fans actually go and freeze their butts off supporting their team!! Lol..
  • I just would have shouted back to the little f***er - at least I can diet and get thin - not much you can do with god awful UGLY!! and kept walking.. His mates would have taken care of the rest of the slagging and he'd think twice about doing that again...
  • I'm Irish and living in Ireland - therefore the accent doesn't do anything for me at all.. Well, depends on the accent I suppose... Love the Cork and Kerry accents - though don't know any single available men from there..
  • 100% Irish.. Obviously our family didn't travel much!! Lol....
  • This.. Date casually till your mid to late 20's.. If you ever have a chance to just go and enjoy or make decisions on the spur of the moment its at that age.. No responsibilites, no kids, no mortgage - just loving life.. It will all happen eventually.. And even if it doesn't, it isn't that bad being single in your 40's..…
  • You should feel a lot better tomorrow. Its always the 2nd day after hard exercise that hurts the most. For me, I find that if I do hard exercise on day 1, I need to do a good amount of exercise on day 2 so that I don't totally seize up on day 3!! Today will be the worst day.. Tomorrow you should be feeling a lot better...
  • I ride my 16.2hh Irish Draught in a KK Sprenger Dynamic RS Eggbutt. All stopping comes from my legs.. He has to respect the half halt.. I do have the few flat out - no stops when out in a group. Its not badness, just excitement and he forgets the half halt and basically anything he's been taught and goes absolutely full…
  • Believe in your instincts - they are so in tune and correct - except for choosing the guys in your life. When your brother tells you he's an *kitten*-hole - he really is.... Don't waste your 20's choosing the wrong guys and ending up hurt everytime.. Eventually you can't take anymore and shut down to relationships. Trust…
  • I'm in Dublin, but its my son in DCU!! Lol!! I'm way way past college - unfortunately.. Concentrating on getting through the working phase, so I can retire asap!!
  • Same here.. I think I'm getting obsessed with scales.. Although I feel more toned and clothes are loose, the scales aren't moving very much at all.. So, I'd like to set myself a goal of loosing 8 lbs in April but I'm not going to watch the scales. Weigh myself on day 1 and then again on day 30 and hope for the best!!…
  • From Dublin - living in Dublin!!!
  • We need a hug smiley!! 1. I can't forgive the men I've had relationships with, for the lies, hurt and cheating. Hence I've been single for the last 10 yrs (am 43 now). I pretend I'm happy being single - but I'm actually too afraid to chance being close to a man again. I obviously seem to pick the wrong ones... :ohwell: 2.…
  • Cripes... I drink about 6 mugs of tea with light milk in work and I'd say another 6 large mugs in the evening... Tea-aholic here... Must be Lyons - will drink Barrys also - but not interested in any other brands.. I will swap an Irish tea for a green tea once in a blue moon though.. Also love coffee.. Adore Lattes but as…
  • Loved your blog.. Am working on changing my lifestyle at the moment.. Way too much time spent sitting at a desk and not 1/8 enough time spent exercising.. Your blog gives me even more motivitation to kick my *kitten* and get going on moving my *kitten* more.. Heading over to San Fran in May and my brother has entered me…
  • I'm from Ireland and we are "gone metric" since the early 70's, but most people still weigh themselves in stones & lbs. Took me a while to grasp the "only lbs" here on MFP. As for Kilo's - not a notion.. All our sign posts etc are now gone to Kilometres & our cars speedometers are in kilometres - but everyone over the age…
  • So true.. Guys, don't get caught up in the numbers.. Whats done is done.. You can't change the past - you can only learn from it and move on.. I'm 43 on Sunday.. Still live at home with my mom, single with a grown up son whos in university. I wasted so many years regretting or wishing things were different.. Took me to my…
  • Giving up cigarettes & started C25K.. Figure if I can stay off the cigarettes I'll have saved myself Euro 400 (40 days in lent & cigerattes basically Euro 10 a pack here in Ireland) If I can do that, I'll have paid for half my flight to the US for my holidays!!
