Read first one and half the second. Then got totally frustrated with the writing and gave up..

No storyline, nothing to keep your interest - bar if your reading it for the sex scenes, then you'd probably be ok..

Thought it was a crap book and I cannot believe anyone who reads as a hobby could actually think they are well written books.. Absolute drivel, if you ask me..

As someone who's been in both a D/s and an emotionally abusive relationship, I can tell one from the other pretty well and this book gives me mad chills of terror. 0/10 would not bang.

Couldn't have said it better myself. While the "adventure" of it might seem fun, the controlling, psychotic, abusive behavior always follows after that sort of draw--that's how emotionally/physically abusive men brain wash women into staying in relationships with them. They make them feel guilty for doing things like skipping a meal or forgetting to call. REALLY?

I stopped after the first book. He reminded me too much of my ex.
    He just cared about her!

    Geez!

And yes, it would be so fun to have boyfriend that wants to control you so much, that he is buying your workplace.

I read them...and enjoyed them....that is until I started talking to my friends about them. Then I decided I don't really like them, I just wanted to like them.

I MUCH prefer RL Mathewson's books. Much more believable, gentle characters. Tons of typos in her e-books, but the story totally detracts from my noticing them! :)

Seconded. That book is utter garbage. It misinterprets BDSM relationships and puts them in an abusive context. I haven't read them myself, but I went to a PP training on the books and after reading only a few excerpts I feel like I have a basic understanding of what's in them and how detrimental they are to women and our understanding of healthy relationships.

Oh and he's not sad. He's an emotionally abusive stalker control freak who uses his past abuse as an excuse to treat his love interest like *kitten*. And my boyfriend is much better.

Orange you gonna tell us more. Maybe that she blue him, right after they met, I mean they had just said yellow.
I was thinking the same thing but would not have stated it so eloquently.

    <3 this!

You act like you don't want it!

    Fairly convincingly, I might add.

Couldn't get beyond five pages of the horrible writing, or the fact that it's just Twilight all over again.

It makes me so mad every time she says he touched 'my sex'. Grrrrr!!! It's an OK, light-hearted book. But the author doesn't deserve to be a gazillionaire...her writing is generally poor and she's too repetitive.

Also, there's a feeling of people jumping on the bandwagon... I suspect 99.9% of the people swooning over Christian Grey would run a mile if they were presented with a flogger or a stainless steel anal hook! If S&M is your thing, then each to their own, but why would you decide you suddenly like it from reading a book that's all the rage?!

Lol didnt care for the books. The Ana pissed me off a lot, what an annoying character. I can see how the sex scenes could be hot for vanilla women, but i didnt think they had much sparkle. No description of the actual feeeling of completely submitting to someone and the...eh its too much to describe. I loved christian grey the character. I really wish the books had been just about him and his life. With dialoge snipettes from his therapy sessions and drawings he made as a child.

I did love the ending of the thirs book though. It was so cute and sweet.:flowerforyou:
