  • I have been known to use the disability stall in the bathroom and get a few squats in before I head back to my desk and nobody has to see me do them.
  • I love getting those 100 guacamole packs and eating that with carrots and celery. Filling and crunchy. The spicy guac is the most satisfying for me.
  • I've been off the wagon again, so today, I decided Why Not Now and dumped out my fountain drink and filled the cup with water. Bye Empty Calories.
  • Bump so I can pull recipes later. I have an awesome crockpot with a timer, so I should really use it more.
  • This is the most hilarious thread I've read all day. I needed that laugh.
  • For me planning can make the difference between a successful day and a not so successful day. I do so much better when I plan.
  • I've done a crappy job of keeping up with things, but I'm 5'2" and I need to lose about 95 lbs. Feel free to add me. I definitely need some extra accountability, so if anyone wants to nag me and have me nag back, let me know!
  • I just started having one for breakfast that I really enjoy. It's around 300 calories, but it keeps me full all morning long. 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt 1 Tbsp hemp hearts 1 Tbsp chia seeds 1 Tbsp raw cacao nibs that I grind before I use (next time will buy powder) 1/4 cup juice 1/2 cup frozen strawberries 1/4 cup other frozen…
  • This is me, too! I welcome any and all friends. I am starting over for what feels like my 50th time. Gonna get there one day.
  • I agree. The death stare or a simple, "It's not a race. I'm good. Thanks!" Along with a giant smile. And then just walk away.
  • I'll add you. I've recently gotten seriously motivated and I am participating so much more.
  • I'll add you. I've joke for a couple of years now that I need a personal nag to remind me to make time for myself. I know that I am ultimately responsible for myself, but with kids, school, sports, work, etc., it can be hard to remember to take care of me. However the last couple of weeks have been drastically different…
  • Honestly, the Tostitos mini rounds or rounds (whatever they are called these days) are like 24 chips for 140 calories. I used to pair that with a 100 calorie guacamole serving and 24 was way more than I needed, so I always used less than a serving. Pairing with salsa would be even fewer calories.
  • I agree that I do my best when I plan ahead and pre-log as much as possible. Then I can look at my day and make smart choices. And I would totally plan in some Hershey's kisses or some 70 calorie chocolate squares or something if that craving really gets you.
  • My husband started off very much this way, but after years of working on him, it's getting better and he eats more stuff. Another thing you might try is freezer cooking on a weekend for you and portioning things in single servings to freeze so that you can sub yourself a healthier option when you fix dinner. Once a Month…
  • ((HUGS)) Go easy on yourself with the negative talk. The weight did not show up overnight and as much as we want it gone, it does not disappear in the blink of an eye. I know how much being in pain sucks. I have a hip condition and there days the pain is almost too much to bear. Rest up and start back into the exercise…
  • The organic produce tends to taste better because most conventionally grown produce is grown to have the longest shelf life and the most uniform appearance, which concidentally tends to breed all the flavor out of it.
  • when you enter in a recipe, it will ask if you want it added to the database where others can see it. If you select yes, it would be added and if someone searched with the right keywords (or say you gave them the title and they search for that), it would show your recipe in the results.
  • Hiya. Anyone can add me if they want. I need a good kick in the pants on a regular basis.
  • One thing I've noticed in discussions with a lot of the breastfeeding community is that quite a few women keep their fat stores while they are breastfeeding and the weight sheds once the baby is completely weaned. With my third, if I wasn't eating enough fatty foods, my milk supply would drop, so I had to make good…
  • Unfortunately the ergonomics person will tell you that you need to sit at a 90 degree angle, too, but that is also false. Research has shown that the optimal way to sit is slightly reclined. My body is not compatible with my work chair, but I've yet to get anyone to do anything about it. Bringing in a ball is one thought.…
  • It sounds a lot like boredom eating. If there's nothing to do but sit around and eat, that's what she'll do. Even if I'm not at a healthy weight myself, I've been emphasizing healthy eating to my children. I tell them they can't eat junk all the time because junk does not build strong, healthy bodies. It's not to say they…
  • I use the recipes here because the canned stuff tastes too processed to me. http://www.thesimpledollar.com/2009/04/24/five-frugal-food-tactics-from-trents-kitchen/ Same base as mentioned upthread, but it worked well for me.
