  • I have negative adjustments enabled but yesterday 11/18 it seems negative calorie adjustments was not syncing up. My steps synced, but calories did not, although it worked all previous days. Which (sorry) was not really related to your question. I think if you want to maintain, then eat those calories. But if your goal is…
  • I'm doing Noom since FEB this year, and have lost about 25 pounds. I've done MFP for several years before, and didn't lose anything. But, I think it's the mindset one has that helps you get going on something. I found the Noom coaches to be very responsive, and the folks in my group also helpful. My coaches got me…
  • I was using MFP free and recently upgraded to Premium as I thought it would provide a bit more support. Except for a few more reports, and ability to look at some things in more than one way, it's pretty much the same to me, considering how I use it. As far as ads, on the computer they are not even noticeable as they're…
  • I just added premium so we'll see how it goes.
  • Hey, good luck and enjoy that cruise. I googled it, and looks like fun! I always seem to be re-starting, I'm there again. So, I'll welcome support as well. I friended you, so please accept! :) Gerry - aka chench53
  • Hello, joining in for the accountability benefits. :) My name is Gerry, I am in southeastern Virginia, Tidewater area, and looking forward to getting back in. I see the couch to 5K link above, and I'm using my Fitbit also. Gerry
  • Mine also still not syncing since late Friday/Saturday. In the past, once fixed, it all caught up so I'm hoping for the same resolution. Soon. :) Gerry
  • I'm in Eastern daylight savings time with a Charge2. There is info as of 10am for me, then no more. Here's hoping it gets fixed soon! Gerry
  • I am in Suffolk, northern Suffolk VA to be exact. Gerry
  • I'm 4-11 1/2" and my weight has crept up over the last several years. At age 50, I was about 114 pounds. I could do about 15 or 20 standard pushups, was hitting the gym, doing some cardio, and was in great shape. Over the next ten years my weight crept up (I married, moved, changed jobs) and recently my highest recorded…
  • I saw a recipe that used avacado instead of mayonaise to make tuna salad, you can do the same with chicken salad. I tried it with chicken, it was very good! If it's nice and ripe, it's softer, you can use it as a spread on a sandwich, or just slice it and add in that way. I also toss it in salads, very yummy! Enjoy!!…
  • Original poster stated that she's starting a new program to reset her metabolism, one of the breakfast choices is steel oats which she was not familiar with. So, it is not the oats specifically, but a new food program she's following. I get it. Gerry
  • I've never had steel cut oats, I guess I'll have to try them to see what I'm missing! I do like the regular "Old Fashioned Quaker Oats" over any quick oats, or any instant oats. It is so much better than the instant. And it does cook quickly in the microwave.…
  • Thanks for those links! off topic... I'm not sure you can put active links here, other forums I usually can put this [ url ] at the start but no spaces, then the link followed by [ url / ] again, no spaces. i will try it.... http://themellors.org/cooking/?p=341 it did not work, but the [url] 's dissappeard. :ohwell: OK,…
  • I think you mean poaching eggs? At least that's what I call it, drop an egg into boiling water? I know fresher eggs have a firmer white than older eggs. Bring water to a boil, and stir the water to get your whirlpool going, drop the egg (white) into that and it helps keep the egg together, and from dispersing through the…
  • Go to a cooking website and search FRITTATA, Here's one from SkinnyTaste - http://www.skinnytaste.com/2013/08/tomato-and-zucchini-frittata.html Many good ones out there. Enjoy! Gerry
  • Hi everyone! :flowerforyou: I joined this group because I saw that Rhenee (Hi there!) was in it. She was in another group with me that came to an end. • What should we call you / name: Gerry, aka chench53 • Where you are from: Living in Suffolk, Virginia, but originally from New York City. • Your weight loss goals: Last…
  • Lo, and behold in an email, I got a story "LONG LIVE THE ICE CREAM SODA FOUNTAIN" http://www.nj.com/cooking/index.ssf/2014/07/gutsy_gourmet_long_live_ice_cream_soda_floats_and_egg_creams.html There's a recipe for something called a "Purple Cow", looks yummy! Gerry
  • I had to join this group just to post, but I do love ice cream. I'm a plain jane when it comes to ice cream. My favorite is vanilla,. Next in line is mint chocolate chip, and I especially like that in a thick shake, with an extra wide straw to slurp it up. YUMMMMmmmmmmm     Today I've wanted…
  • Hi Enrique, I think you have a great plan! It's all about setting attainable goals, and I think it is brilliant!! Good luck, the GERD and diet change is probably not a huge hurdle in the long run, put it in perspective (like the 1 pound at a time). Gerry PS, I friended you.
  • It is hanging up on me. I have not checked in with it most of the week, too busy. :ohwell: Gerry
  • I initially entered a stride length too short. I'm 4'11" tall. I just calculated some adjustments, using the formula .413 x 59 inches = 28 inches, or 2'4" stride length. I thought WOW, that's a huge change from what I'd been using. But then I paced it out, divided distance by # of steps, and lo and behold, I got 2'3". But,…
  • Well, this was so easy to add you all as friends right from the app, now to use it! Gerry chench53 here &on FitBit
  • Thanks, neat app!! I'm in too. www.fitbit.com/user/2623NC or just use chench53 Gerry
  • First, don't let it get you off track! It's just a bump in the road, look at the other 44 days of doing well, and focus on getting back on track. I don't know what you eat on a usual day, but permitting a treat once in a while is OK. I think doing so helps us learn how to work that into a balanced diet. Keep up the good…

  • I ordered a fitbit, and in advance, I set up fitbit online so it talks to MFP. I log food in MFP and I see it in Fitbit, so I expect it's a two way street and my steps will somehow fill MFP. I think when I get the device, I just set it up and it all talks to each other! Gerry
  • I vote for what you picked, LOL!! Now I'm headed over there....
  • Oh no you're not, I beat you. I'm 60. I used to be fit and trim, and short (well, always short). In the last 10 years gained at least 25 pounds, and about 10 of those pounds in the last 2 years.:grumble :embarassed: But it can be done, and we will do it. Gerry
  • I noticied this in the 'recent forum topics' and I will join in also. PS, Hello, and my name is Gerry. About 25-30 pounds need to go!
