  • i dont think you would have to do a recover plan if you dont plan on running for a while. Thanks for all the help everyone! I think my recovery plan was a little too intense. It has me running 4 days a week (only 3-5 miles) then cross training and one long run (9-20 miles). Last week I did 12.5 miles and the week before I…
  • Mine is around 210grams (65 percent of my diet), but I am training, so I guess it depends on your physical activity level?
  • Well, im only 21. I didnt run in high school and I have been an off and on runner in college. The longest I would go would be maybe 5 miles. This is my first marathon and I started training 5 months ago (so, maybe my info is not all THAT encouraging since it has taking me that much training to finally get results but…
  • This is so true! I am training for my first marathon right now and had that mind set when I first started. I run 45 to 50 miles a week and really still need to watch the cals or I gain weight. Also, I have def lost inches but the weight, not so much. Running really has helped my body become more muscular and to shed off…
  • UGH! way to ruin it for me!! From last weeks show Hellen didnt look too skinny. Although, I dont remember what she has gotten her weight down to.
  • I know...I dont actually watch tv but I started watching the Biggest Loser on the NBC site and just fell in LOVE with it!
  • So I missed the Biggest Loser last night. Is there anywhere I can watch it online? Or do I have to wait a week for NBC to post it on their page?
  • It is finals week for me too so I TOTALLY know how you are feeling! 1. keep exercising...makes you less hungry. So, if you feel like eating crap, work out for like 15-30 minutes and you wont feel hungry anymore. 2. snack on veggies or something. Those wont kill you. 3. study in a place where you arent surrounded by others…

  • Goal weight loss in lbs - 5 pounds # of Kids (or do you want kids)- none...but 2 cats :-) How long have you been a vegetarian or vegan? - 3.5 years-kind of a psychological thing for me. I think animals are a little too human for me to eat them. I just cant imagine eating anything that was once living anymore. Age- 21…
  • I agree with what the other two ladies have said. None of us are experts. I would like to say though that I just finished taking a counseling psychology course and learned that counselers really can be a wonderful aid in gaining more insight into struggles. I would recommend seeing one because they really can help you…
  • Havent gotten my run in yet today but today will be a nice four miles before my long run tomorrow...oh man
  • Cold and rainy in minnesota :-( So sad that we only get like 3 months of nice weather here ha.
  • I am running a marathon in Oct. When I go on my "long runs", which are around 15-20 miles, I concentrate on speed. I set a pace that I want to run and then watch my clock on my ipod to make sure I am hitting it. The "shorter" runs, range from 5-8 miles and those I dont focus on speed so much but I will do hill sprints and…
  • Yeah this conversion works for me too, so I think it is right

  • Oh gosh I totally hear you on this! I started training for a marathon 7 weeks ago and now I am hooked! My muscles are getting sooo toned and I love it!!

  • I did 6 miles and sprinted a 1/8 mile hill three times in the six miles  yay for running!
  • Yeah try to eat something healthy...if you are under 1200 your body with go on starvation mode and slow down your matabolism.
  • I usually only eat 2 servings of fruit a day...but I agree! It is crazy how little sugar we really need!
  • Thanks all...yeah I guess I never really thought about getting too much sugar from fruit (silly as that may be). Is it just that I will gain weigt if I eat too much sugar or are there other healthy issues that go along with that (sorry little naive on this subject).
  • Does anyone keep track of how many grams of sugar they eat? I just added that today and after eating a banana, over half of my sugar intake is taken up...how am I supposed to eat less sugar? And what happens when I eat too much? Im not eating candy or sweets or anything. It is all coming from foods that are usually thought…
  • That is a great idea to have family dinners at your house. I never get to pick out what we eat for family dinners, although we usually only have those during the holidays. I am moving out in the fall, and I think that will help a lot so I wont have to be around bad food. I would think that my parents would want to get in…
  • Thank you, this is very true. I feel like if my parents make some sort of meal (or dessert) they get offended that I wont eat it because I dont find it healthy. I wish I had healthy parents!!
  • I feel like my parents are all for me eating really crappy because that makes them think that it is alright for them to eat crappy too. I am a small person but it is because I work out a TON. They dont work out at all and their jobs are very sedetary. Their lifestyle is much different than mine but I still think they use…
  • I know! I moved home just for the year and am surprised I have not gained 20 pounds! Both of my parents are very overweight and my sister and I are healthy individuals. But being healthy doesnt mean that it is easy for me to resist temptations!
  • So, my parents have been on this dessert kick lately...why? I dont know but it is KILLING me! I have been pretty good about not eating the stuff they make. Tonight, once again they just got done making a dessert. I only have 3 weeks of class left until finals, and I had a SUPER stressful day at work today, so sometimes it…
