  • What does a 'typical' day look like for you TRB in terms of exercise (do you do a program? like t25?) and diet?
  • Great outcome and story. I hope your story inspires others (including myself) to make positive changes in their lives as well.
  • Arditarose - I'm not a female but since no one replied...I'll just copy and paste what I wrote in another thread as I feel it's somewhat relevant. I'm sorry I didn't really take a lot of pictures as far as progression goes (or I'll try to find more later). In the first picture: I'm 115 lbs. In the second picture, I'm 145…
  • First of all, good luck to you TRB and I wish you all the success. I'm surprised no one else has replied :( I'm probably in the minority, but for me I struggled for most of my life trying to add weight, I was always called skinny and people worried if I even ate (luckily I lived in a community where I was fortunate to not…
  • Hello FitGeekery, I can relate to you, I'm a geek at heart too, didn't really play a lot of the games you mentioned, but I was an avid gamer (I didn't have time to do those anymore). I had the opposite problem of you, having to gain weight was really hard since I was always so skinny. I can tell you though that it is all…
  • Hello JesssieL just motivation is a really important factor in trying to reach success with respect to your fitness goals - what do you currently do for your workouts? Welcome to MFP nice meeting you
  • Welcome Donna and Rebecca, good to meet new people. I too love the motivational support I get from these forums. People are very positive, and will help you out a lot if you have any questions
  • Congrats on your upcoming wedding, and living a healthy life should be a lifelong goal and effort. Good for you, I think having the right mindset is more than half the battle. Welcome to MFP :)
  • Nice to meet you jnnfrsmore, my favorite workouts are basically anything les mills and HIIT :) I have discovered that there are really fun ways to work out, and I think that applies to everyone, we just all have to find our own niche.
  • I love avocados. I tend to just eat it in a salad. I've also tried it with some lemon juice.
  • I don't know anyone who couldn't use an extra friend. always great to stay motivated, and be motivated by each other. I don't really cook a lot, but I wouldn't mind if people shared their diet plans and philosophy on how they found success.
  • Hi Martyn welcome
  • Congrats Melissa and good for you. Don't be discouraged about not losing as much weight as you first did when you started, that is not uncommon at all. Your body adapts to things, so changing an exercise program up might help you further your goals.
  • Some kind of nuts, like almonds aren't too expensive but they will fill you up. And I love greek yogurtttttttttt
  • Wow everyone must have hit the beach this summer looking like that. Good job everyone
  • I think that's OK, you are doing cardio and strength training on alternate days, so you should be fine. If you're trying to maximize the amount of calories burned, you're on your way there, just combine that with a good diet and you should be set. How long are you running for on MWF?
  • I don't think you were morbidly obese before, but there is no doubt about your transformation. Good job to you man. :)
  • Very impressive, congratulations to you. You look great
  • I was always a skinny kid throughout high school and even college. I think what motivated me to gain weight was more out of a necessity for health reasons. My doctor told me I had high blood pressure (yes even though I was skinny, it can happen to anyone), and from there I decided to eat healthier. I ate more protein, did…
  • This is awesome, good job to you. It is definitely possible to live a healthy lifestyle, and many who are close to me are 'afraid' that they'd have to give up their favorite movies, but simple things like changing portion size, or even when you eat can make a significant impact. Also if you 'train' your body to eat…
  • Just eat tons of high calorie unsaturated fat food to gain muscle mass (like avocados, nuts, salmon, beans, etc), and continue to do resistance training. That's what I did and over several months you'll notice a difference.
  • Biologically speaking, I don't think it's possible to gain muscle mass unless you are in a calorie surplus. People usually concentrate on either gaining muscle, or losing fat, but not both at the exact same moment (bulking phase or cutting phase). You can't build muscle at the exact same time you burn fat because one…
  • That's awesome, you show that hard work and dedication are real and the results are awesome. Great job to you :)
  • I've been taking BP regularly for three years and I love it. Based on my experiences, I've come to the following conclusions. 1) Like others have said, biceps is a harder muscle to progress on because it's smaller compared to your legs or back muscles. When I first started, my bicep weight was 7.5 lbs on each side (3.4 kg)…
  • Nice post Dawn. I agree it can be intimidating going to a class on your own in the beginning. I was the same way, but took the plunge and went. Everyone there was very friendly or kept to themselves. It's a good environment because when you go you're more likely to have fun rather than suffer on the machines on your own.…
  • The little steps are sometimes the most significant. They keep us going and prevent us from falling off the bandwagon so easily. Congrats to you that's awesome.
  • Caper, If you look into New Balance, here's some more shoe models that you might look into. You should also ask the sales associate as they are supposed to know which shoes are best for pronators. They can be expensive, so I would wait for a sale or unless they have a coupon. MR760 series. Around 100 bucks. MR1224 series.…
  • Not sure about other brands, but I used to work at New Balance. If you're concerned about looks, the MR993 series is pretty good for an everyday type of running shoe, even if it doesn't look like it's for running. Pretty versatile. It would be good for both pronators and supinators because the absorb support system is in…
  • T25 Alpha cycle is pretty good. I bought the alpha/beta set on amazon. The alpha round is easy to follow and can be done in the comfort of your own home.
