  • I am pescatarian, meaning I eat no meat except the occasional fish. I went vegan at first (last summer) but couldn't hack it. Then I added fish back into my diet simply so that I would be able to eat something on the menu when dining out (everyone serves FISH!)...lol. Where I live, there are no vegetarian restaurants or…
  • I got married & honeymooned at Sandals Negril in Jamaica in October 2006, and it was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a "no worries" type vacation because it's all-inclusive.
  • I'm also a big fan of Old Navy. They have styles for every age & size, and the prices are great. Speaking from experience, may I also recommend taking a fashionable friend along with you? Let them pick out some clothes for you to try on, otherwise you might be stuck in a rut of buying the same type of clothes as before.…
  • I am going to try eating with the opposite hand as well! Sounds interesting... Another thing you can do on the treadmill that burns a ton of calories is to put the incline on high, but the speed on low. Instead of just walking it, do "walking lunges". It's like walking up a big hill, and you get a BIG BURN! I used to do…
  • OK, I tried this recipe last week and it was fan-freaking-tastic! It was so good that my husband requested I make it again sometime (I'm making it this evening). And he's not even vegetarian! Thanks TAM!
  • This also sounds delicious. I love your recipes! They are very veg-friendly, I appreciate that!
  • Yum! That sounds delicious! I keep all those ingredients on hand all the time, so that makes it even easier! Thanks very much, I will try this soon.
  • Awesome! I am also addicted to hummus and would like to start making it at home. I like to dip pita chips in it, my favorite being "Stacy's Simply Naked".
  • You should try garlic hummus. It would be creamy and garlicky, without all the fat from the yogurt, and have the added health benefits of chickpeas! I eat it all the time with pita chips.
  • It's true....cardio, cardio, cardio. But if you want to do double duty, make your it a boxing workout like Tae Bo or Turbo Jam, they do lots of twists and knee lifts that tone the middle while amping up your heart rate. I do it, I have vowed to keep doing it so that I don't grow the dreaded "front butt"! Good luck!
  • I myself am vegan, so naturally I am going to say to ditch the milk. Since you are concerned about calcium, you should know that you can get calcium from other sources besides dairy, such as orange juice and spinach. As for vitamin D, 15 minutes of daily sun exposure can fulfill your needs.
  • You are not alone! That IS a good cd to workout to. I also like Beyonce's up tempo stuff, it really gets me moving.
  • Neat-o site and recipes! They all sound delicious...I think I may try the Asian w/ the tofu. Thanks!
  • I have 2 suggestions, I own both and they helped me tremendously: 1) Pilates Back Workout -dvd. Lots of stretching for the lower back, not really a workout. 2) The Backsmart Fitness Plan (book) by Dr. Adam Weiss (a chiropractor). This is simply the best book of exercises and stretches for the entire back, as written by…
  • I have to disagree about eggs being VERY good for you... watch that cholesterol! Check out: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cholesterol/HQ00608
  • Welcome! I just started a few weeks ago as well. I just became a vegan this week, though. How long have you been a vegan? Any advice or tips?
  • I tried it last summer. Although I did see a small amount of weight loss (around 5 lbs.), I didn't stay on it very long because I found it too complicated. I spent a lot of time calculating my ratios of food (protein, carbs, fats), and just got really tired of it. You might have better luck, who knows? But on the positive…
  • How about logging it under "low impact aerobics" for the regular kind, and high impact for the "swinging from the chndeliers" kind?
  • Thanks, guys!
  • OK, that didn't work...LOL! It's a cartoon showing a doctor and his rather large patient. The doctor says, "What fits your busy schedule better, exercising for one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day?"
  • OK, let me try this again. It's supposed to be a cartoon! IMG]http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff175/DustDevil75/fit00.gif[/IMG]

  • I would compare those to the nutrition info on the egg carton that you are actually using, that would probably help to figure out which one you should be using. Good luck!

  • Amazon has a set of 5 of the DVDs for around $35.00 new, I bought the set for my mom and she loves it. I used to do Sweatin' to the Oldies, and I would log it at whichever number of "calories burned" is higher because during parts of it you can really get your heart rate going through the roof!
  • 1. Denise Austin's Personal Training System - cheap, but so very effective b/c the workouts are short but challening & you can mix it up different ways. 2. Biggest Loser - Seasons 1 & 2 w/ Bob Harper, ditto the above. 3. Any Turbo Jam dvd
  • I can't really tell a difference, I can really only taste the berries!
  • Gyms are overrated anyway! I do my best workouts at home using a wide variety of dvds and cheap equipment. My favorite DVDs are "The Biggest Loser" (season 1 w/ Bob), Denise Austin's Personal Training System, and Turbo Jam's "5 Rockin' Workouts" because they are all great workouts and I can change up the routine easily. My…
  • Since you love strawberries, you should try putting them on top of a whole wheat bagel half, english muffin, or toast spread w/ FF cream cheese. Yummy! I much prefer cream cheese with the actual fruit (like strawberries & blueberries) on top as opposed to fruit flavored cream cheese.
  • Thanks! Mine is July 17th, but I celebrate all month long!
