  • I just came back from a hectic 7 day trip with many 4 redeye flights and having to set up and take down marketing stuff from very early to late. Lots of stress. The old me would have gained 2 to 3 kg on s week like this. I am pooped but I lost .8 kg. Basically breakfast at hotels was eggs butter and coffee. Lunch was…
  • Welcome. I used this account back in 2014 and lost 30 kg. I just restarted 2 weeks after regaining nearly 18kg over the last year (fell off the wagon and stress of divorce). Back on the wagon and going for it again. This time I know it will work because I have done it before. Good luck and welcome back.
  • finished my second fast today. very clear loss this time. .6kg let's see if it sticks after tonight's meal.
  • Good job! I can't explain it either. I had the same experience. Had it twice accidentaly and everytime it would break the stall or accelerate loss. So much so that i had decided to do a Cyclical Keto diet because it just made sense..... wrong decision for me. I started to stall when i did that even lowering my calories. I…
  • I drank a lot (about 4 l. 2 of which were sparling water my new addiction). I lost the next day abour 250g then had a social mishap with family event (about 150 carbs). Back at it and still lost another 200g - i ran 2 miles the next morning after the 150 carbs. My next fast will be monday.
  • OK. the plot thickens .... broke fast today after first 36 hour fast. feeling pretty good. zero weigh loss but probably due to overhydration.
  • OK i am up for the challenge. 1) DONE 2) I can handle it - sunday instead of saturday 3) OK 4) Will restart logging today. Stopped a few months ago. 5) OK currently 16 hours into a fast (was doing IF) will just ride this one to 36. gets me to tomorrow 11 am. 6) OK. I have been stable at about the same weight for months.…
  • congrats brother! we started at the same time last year. I remember you creeping up and passing me on the amount of weight lost in December. you rock. you are a constant motivation. I stopped the fasting and just decided to go back today reading you post. I have had only 6 pounds to goal since March. I am going to at least…
  • @LittleMamaVas Check your dairy. Some of us have a hard time going keto without including massive amounts of dairy. Even if you are lactose tolerant you can break out from dairy. Just check if you added anything "suspicious" like shellfish. Overall the consensus is that everyone's skin clears up with the high fat. Good…
  • Basically i was a lazy eater (lots of liquid calories and late night fast food combined with a yearly membership to the gym from January to march) for about a decade. Then a stern CICO for about a year and then i saw the light last august... :-)
  • Hello all, Here is my 2 cents. As @leonidas_and_spartacus‌ said, adapting to a ketogenic diet is a major stress on the body. The kind of stress that uses a lot of resources and requires many moving parts. If you chose to follow a ketogenic diet you have to give your body a break during the adaptation period and maybe a…
  • Hello... I find that if if pop out of ketosis which happens from time to time due to life I can get back in much quicker with some HITT. I can understand this as helping my body get rid of glycogen stores quicker and forcing the liver to do its job and start producing. It just helps create the right conditions for quicker…
  • @Dragonwolf‌ pretty much covered it all. The advice I see there that would have been most useful to me starting off is focus on the cards and don't go hungry. The hunger will go away by week 2 or 3. In the mean time just worry about not going over on carbs. Protein is easy to fix if you are under and not that bad if you…
  • I am now weight stable but during the weight loss period I used it a lot. I started off doing 6 fed hours to 18 fasted everyday. It got old very quick because I could never get enough calories in in 6 hours. I started the alternate day thing (2 days a week) under the tutelage of user @PatchEFog‌ who is awesome and the most…
  • I have been using vinegar (apple cider) 1 tablespoon whenever I can remember to take it. I can't find the info now but it helped with my acid reflux (another counter intuitive thing) and it help the enzymes for fat metabolism.
  • Onward! I find fat fasts useful for low calorie day. I can't sustain 3 days though mainly because I get something similar to acid reflux after about 30 hours no matter what kind of fat I use. Good luck. I might just do one now (24 hours) that I saw this post in order to keep life interesting.
  • generally I am measurably back in ketosis within 72 hours. I have no way of measuring adaptation but if the carb use is short in duration (2 hours to the hours), I can feel signs of adaptation (waking up early, energy in the afternoon) within 7 days. If the cheat was longer feeling the benefits again can take weeks.
  • I use net except for sugar alcohols because I seem to be sensitive to those. my version of net carbs has the fiber removed but sugar alcohol in.
  • I would say follow the doctor said advice as long as you asked for alternatives and none were provided. Especially if meds are involved. Had a bug a while back. was on yogurt and butter rice for a week. felt better then went back on keto.
  • I was recently talking to my wife about this. I used to get raw milk and bread everyday on the way home before keto (sometimes some healthy fruits to go with that). Now when I call on the way I hear. .. "We ate out of eggs" about twice a week. Before keto I don't think I had ever been out of eggs. @DittoDan‌ You may be a…
  • Hi. Really wish I could help but seems like a lot of research would be needed. It seems like water requirements go up on low carb (nothing about keto so maybe higher than keto). Here are a lot of people asking the same question with too many responses to go through…
  • not long term but over 6 months here with a couple of one day interruptions. I am where I wanted to be. happy about it and sticking to it. Lost 20th on Keto in about 4 months. Been more or less maintaining ever since. want to lose a bit more fat and gain some muscle so not really thinking about the scale as much. I think…
  • with all due respect, The bulletproof executive (TM) is really just doing the same thing that guys like John kiefer and others have preached for a long time. It is not a ketogenic diet. It is a smart variation that does work and optimises many hormonal cycles to get the right results. You do not need to buy any special X X…
  • I find that the lifestyle is easy and I have not increased my regular daily carb intake. i think if I had, I may have gone off the lifestyle because I have a control issue. I just let them in in a very controlled way fully knowing they are not the best thing for me.
  • Thank you @frob23‌. logging: I think this is a good way. I will track while making changes then if I feel comfortable stop all together. For calories: I will have a lot of difficulty getting to maintenance. Even when I try to go higher deliberately I end up around 1500 instead of the 1980 tdee. This is why I think adding…
  • I am with @deansdad101‌ on this one. Couldn't really stick to schedules early on except for IF days. Then it sort of naturally came along. on workdays I don't get hungry until lunch. then dinner. On weekends I tend to have a brunch that is heavier and dinner. It looks like a schedule but it really isn't too strict. It came…
  • @GaleHawkins‌ Regainin has been a major fear for me too. It seems like people like us who were very fat at some point are at a much higher risk because our fat cells remain almost intact and in almost the same numbers as when we were at our heaviest. With most diets out there at one point or another they will cause a…
  • @iloseityes‌ I started for weight loss but now I just enjoy the health benefits. I am very close to where I want be for weight. I think the carb re feeds are a good idea but it looks like the science is once again counter intuitive on this one. There are rules at least for weight loss that work for me. It has to be high GI…
