Vanilla Bean flavored anything (frappes, ice cream, gelato, cheesecake), reese's cups, reese's sticks, Chili's Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers (to die for), Brownies, Oreos,

As a child I was put onto soccer teams at the local park. That stopped the beginning of high school and I took a break from physical activity. Then I did Insanity, which was awesome. Now I do videos, or I go to the gym and do a routine I randomly came up with and one I enjoy. No boring treadmill or stair stepper, if I'm…

Well, my_jurnee, you can always do what the others suggested and buy actual food. I don't know of any protein powder you can get with food stamps, at least here in California.

Drink more water, less sodium. Also, we can't see your diary to see what exactly is happening in your diet.
-
So keep eating. Snack on some steamed veggies, a fruit, popcorn (you can find "skinny" popcorn), or a protein shake blended with lots of ice, etc.

My nutritional instructor must have been wrong, I guess I should tell her to go back to college and re-earn her Masters.

Insulin is not bad, no one is making that claim. If you eat high sugar foods constantly, that is when you should worry. Your insulin spikes as opposed to going up steadily when you eat sugary foods, that's where the problem lies and that is where we get the sugar crash because the insulin falls back down relatively…

Wow this thread is full of know-it-alls that don't know. Sugar does make you want to eat more sugar, it's like a drug. Secondly, sugar spikes insulin. Why does insulin matter? It signals your body to not release fat, after all your blood is full of sugar it can readily use as energy -- why would it go for your fat stores…

Whenever I feel groggy, dizzy my cure is always to eat a large meal (600-800 cals). Eat your good carbs, your muscles are begging for them.
-
All I can offer is only drink water as your beverage, don't eat out, skip dessert, follow a 1500-1800 daily calorie goal, wear dark colored clothing to the reunion, and hope for the best.

Your body moves less weight, and becomes more efficient at exercises you're used to doing.
-
I'm not familiar with your condition, what I can tell you is restricting carbs is a mistake. Carbs are essential for energy, you will go into ketosis if you cut out too many carbs.

Don't fret too much. Buy a food scale, weigh everything, cook from scratch so you can control calories. Bake or boil instead of fry (oil/butter can add hundreds of calories). This has been my recipe for success. One last thing, it's a great thing to exercise but food is the key to losing weight. Meet your calorie goal on…

I'm certain it's the caffeine content (or maybe another stimulant). Same thing happens to me when I have a cup of coffee, that's why I don't take pre-workouts.

I workout 3 days a week, have lost a lot of weight mostly due to calorie deficit. You don't need to exercise to lose weight, keep that in mind.

Damn, I should've checked the date

The sugar content is not great, it'd be better to have a chocolate protein shake but feel free to indulge every now and then. Just to break it down, Milk has about 12g of sugar per 1 cup, that Ovaltine has 9g per 2tbsp so it's likely that you're having sugar well into the 30 gram mark. Sugar causes your insulin to spike…

I've learned a lot. I went ahead and took a course to be able to guide friends and family to a healthier place. I got a certification in Weight Loss Nutrition and it's awesome. Eat a lot of fish & chicken, drink lots of water, fill up on vegetables, find healthy alternatives, have measured out servings of peanuts and/or…

Have your carbs with protein & find healthy replacements. I made a flatbread pizza for 300 calories: Flatbread (100cal), Mozzarrella (160cal), Pizza Sauce (35cal) And a milkshake for 360 calories: "Great Value" Vanilla Ice Cream cup (100cal), Vanilla protein powder (130cal), 1 cup 2% milk (130cal), 2 cups of ice, blend…

Casein will actually slow whey digestion. This is good, it will keep your muscles fed for a few hours.

I agree, don't lower your calories further and don't go low sodium or low fat. You need to buy a food scale and measuring cups and weigh everything. Keep your sodium at healthy levels, not low or high. Skip the fast food, skip dessert (most of the time), and skip sugary drinks (Soda, sports drinks, "juices", energy drinks)

Yep, Sophie is spot on. 1200 should be your absolute minimum.

Take your kids to the park

I like to have protein and around a liter water after a workout. Protein is usually chicken for me and Casein before bed.

They're absolutely required. We'll keep you out of the weekly meetings if you don't get your act together, Asrar.

I eat up to 200 exercise calories if I'm hungry. If not, simply don't eat. You want to lose weight faster? Don't eat them. If you you'd rather lose the weight more painlessly (which is 100% fine) eat up to 200 of them. I don't stick to one or the other, as I said I eat if I'm hungry, but I make the compromise to eat only…
