I'm encouraged by how many age groups are represented here -- young, "old" (because who knows what that means anymore anyway?!?) and everything in between, and we're all getting there. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Christmas 2010 -- 155 lbs. or so, and I was running / working out. WTH? That Mommy weight was NOT budging... About 2012 -- 135 lbs. (and I'm still ranging between 135 and 140, depending). it can happen, but you have to make it a habit:

   How sad is it that I didn't think to do that myself?!?!
-
OMGOODNESS, do I remember those!  Right up there with the "Be an Artist" things where you draw Donald Duck and send it in. Yep.

Just be aware of what ^^^ she says. I also have high arches, and broke my heel running in Vibrams (a pretty large c-shaped fracture). With high arches, your foot never flattens all the way to the ground w/your steps, so the force is distributed into the other parts of your feet. No matter what your technique, this can…

I hate you. And your genetics.

And to the OP -- bless you, my child. (I can call you "my child" because I'm the same age as Mr. Downey -- us old folks are pretty hot.)

And you, sir. win the prize. *bows*

Keanu Reeves -- I swear that guy is dumber than rocks, and watching him next to Al Pacino in Devil's Advocate was like watching a stump take on Shakespeare. UGH.
-
BUMP for later.

I am also hypo, and take Levothyroxine and Liothyronine, and have used whey protein powders as well as soy. I've never had issues w/either. These are the things to check first: 1. Your meds -- I get checked every 3-6 months, and my meds have changed three times over the last 3-4 years. It takes a while to get them just…

What a great motivation -- rewards like that after each goal, keeping you pumped for the next thing, and the next. FANTASTIC. And your story is great motivation, too. One day at a time, steady on, and look how far you've come. CONGRATULATIONS. And you look so much healthier AND happier.

Just fan-FREAKIN'-tastic. Amazing. Congratulations on the new you (and congratulations to your friend & husband too)!!

EXACTLY. Mmmm hmmmm.

He grew up close to me...and he used to host this show on Sundays here called "Your New Home" where he basically narrated footage of homes that were up for sale in the area and interviewed the builders. I think he could sell anything to anyone. And he's supposedly just a really good guy.
-
TOTALLY me too. Yep. :drinker:
-
Here's to the OLD guys!! :drinker: :drinker: I still love me some Al Pacino. And some Richard Gere. AAAAAND Elvis. Young, old, doesn't matter. Yep, guess that makes me a geezer, too. I'll take it.
-
Love the PROFESSOR! :) And bump here too.

All of THIS^^^. Plus this -- don't be so hard on yourself. You're a stay-at-home-mom of two young kids. When I was one, it was very hard emotionally (and physically). I felt pretty isolated sometimes (even tho I had mom friends w/kids), I felt like I wasn't worth much, wasn't doing much (even though you're really doing a…

**deep bow to the guys out there, most of whom think like ^^^this guy, including my husband** Yep.  Sometimes I wish you guys were inside our heads b***-slapping that other voice.

GOSH, so many women on here already, and we're all doing this to ourselves! Here's a lady who does it to herself, too -- and she found a beautiful way to try to work it out, for all of us: http://www.abeautifulbodyproject.com/

I do it too, almost every day. Been doing it for 42 years, and usually it feels so darned "natural," I don't even realize I AM doing it. Maybe I have to type it out like this, too -- read it in black and white. It's so easy when it's being whispered silently inside your head day after day to think it's not really THERE.…

If nothing else works, I get some of the Benefiber chewable orange psyllium fiber tablets. They're natural, they don't taste that bad. My pediatrician even recommended them for my son who has the same issue sometimes. :flowerforyou:

BUMP - been debating on what to get for about 2 years now...need all the help I can get. :)

Just accept that this time in your life is NUTS, and get in things where you can. I find that the more I got anxious or beat myself up about what I WASN'T doing, the less energy I had for anything -- beating the crap outta yourself when life is just nutty and you're doing the best you can just wears you out. Some things I…

Here's a basic recipe I've tried before: BREAKFAST CUPCAKES: 1/3 sausage and 1/2 C chopped yellow onion, sautéed together until cooked 2C chopped baby spinach 1/3C Cilantro 8 Eggs 1tsp Adobo (mix of salt, garlic, oregano, pepper, and turmeric) 1. Preheat oven to 375. Brown onion and sausage until cooked. While browning,…

If you like eggs, egg "cupcakes" are a great make-ahead thing -- I made a whole tray and ate them for 2 weeks. Also, there's an egg/meat casserole recipe I have at home that I love that I'm sure would be the same concept -- cut into squares, wrap 'em up, and grab them in the morning. Can put salsa on them, more meat on the…

Might be easier that way, 'cause it's simple and lets you walk away from the conversation. But not particularly helpful to the other person. Just my honest opinion. And I'm a little "older" too. I agree with you to a point. Some things have changed for the worse. But finding a better, more sensitive way to approach…

YES, TRUE. I found this myself -- not so much w/weight / food (although I had some of that, too), but w/other parts of my life. My parents were pretty controlling, so even my hobbies / passions were turned into battles. The only ones I kept were the ones they didn't care about (and therefore, didn't comment on or pressure…
