We all deserve a "do-over"! My advice: Set your intention. Log every bite. Drink water. Do a daily calorie burning activity that you will enjoy because you are really "doing it". Love yourself. Be gentle if a food choice is not optimal. Hold YOURSELF accountable. Make some MFP friends.

I too, live alone and found the biggest loser cookbook to have lots of ideas for recipes that you can "cut down" to one serving.(Even sweets!) I do cook almost every nite though I work 10-12 hour days. I am a vegetarian so freezing "meat" doesn't work for me but, lentils are great, for an easy meal and for the leftovers,…

awesome recipe! thanks.

Awesome! It feels great, doesn't?! And you are on your way to size 18! Keep up the great/important self care!

Wow. The proof of your dedication to a health/fitness conscious lifestyle is such an inspiration. You are teaching your boys by example and that will go w/ them for life. Such a beautiful family...so proud for you that you will be around to enjoy them and they you! Congratulations on your great success!!!

I am so glad for you! You are absolutely gorgeous! You are glowing and should! Congrats.

Very funny!!! Hey, your ht and starting weight are really close to mine. You started sooner than I, but would love to keep track of where you are going w/ this...Friend me if you'd like. And, by the way, you are "jamming" (pun intended) w/ your successful weight loss!!!
-
Tell me more about the challenge, please.

I agree about listing the food one by one. You could plug it in on the recipe builder and get one count. Wow...good for you for resisting the rice.
-
Your cardiac risk is waaaaaaaaaay down. So glad for you! Great job, Debbie!

I agree. The calorie in/ calorie out facts cannot be denied. Track your calories like there is no tomorrow. Track any exercise kcals burnt. If you keep your intake at or below your BMR (basic metabolic requirement) you WILL lose. Keep at it!
-
Love the "positevity"!
-
Friend me?! I really like that you gave a grocery list of your staples. That was a great response (and validation) of what you are doing for yourself!

Creating a calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight! The old "calorie in-calorie out" trick! So...by not eating your exercise calories you are creating that deficit...therefore the weight will come off. Try to pack your diet w/ protein rich foods so the lesser amount of calories won't slow you down..rather give you…

Stay your course...! Your body is being asked to adjust to a huge change. Adjustment to the rapid loss of weight, water of otherwise, makes the body "rethink" how to distribute nutrition/fluid/electrolytes in a new way...so in the meantime the metabolism is adjusting. The only tried and true way to lose weight and be…

Sounds as if you are focusing on what you cannot do instead of what you CAN do!~ Some of us struggle w/ finding a way to process the changes getting healthy means to our body and soul, This is the case for me anyway. To sabotage ourselves, like we always have, is one fight some of us may always have. Being on guard to…

As well you SHOULD be! Looks like you have been working really hard. Good for you!

I have a Sportline...chest strap and wrist monitor. Approx $80 on sale at the sports store. Lots of functions on the wrist monitor. Invaluable. I have relied on it for STAYING in the HR zone to get the most out of my worikout. Good luck.

If that person is a "close blood relative" you can still be HONEST w/ her about how is treating you! You: I feel really disappointed when you are not supportive of my weight loss goals. You: I feel that you are not being supportive for something that is healthy for me. You: I want to share this w/ you, and yet it is…

Hey! I really identify w/ you...and what you ask shows you KNOW what is really going on...just sounds like you need to process it. And I say this because I have "been there, done that" and still struggle w/ it at times. For me emotional eating is to "stuff" down what I am really feeling. I have tried, and still do, to…

I have created a gym-ette in my garage and have put motivational sayings on the walls to remind me of why I started this...and what I want from working so hard at fitness. The few words that keep me centered are "REINVENT YOURSELF". i really am seeing this as just that...so your "been there, done that" really hit home for…

Welcome aboard! The water is fantastic! The support I have found here is phenomenal. I, too need the support and encouragement...hoping you find what you need!
-
You're right! Great results. Congrats!

You've already started to kill the monster by exposing it to the light! How courageous you are!!! Monsters like to hide. They like to get you to thinking you can't overcome whatever you have the desire to accomplish. They lie. They cheat. They steal our self esteem. They are selfish and give you deceptive reasonings to get…

Hey Elaine. Welcome. You will find a group of people here who are dedicated to encouraging each other with upbeat positive feedback. Friend me if you'd like.
-
Really. Apathy strikes at the heart of those who feel helpless and hopeless. Sad.

I see a beautiful, strong, empowered woman who can do ANYTHING! Congratulations!
