Goal for February 150 miles. I better step it up! I don't do gels either. Honey Stinger Chews or dried fruit works well. I start eating around mile 4. And I always eat something about an hour or so prior to running for long runs.
-
I run in the afternoon or evening. Even in the summer in Florida. Getting up in the morning is just not going to happen for me. I do suffer through early mornings only for long runs when I have more than about 10 miles to do. That's only when training for a race.
-
I would start by getting away from the smith machine. That will add challenge to your lifts immediately.
-
I have a feeling I'll be doing 10 miles in the rain tomorrow morning. What I learned from the last time I did that: use body glide on my feet and bring a towel to sit on in the car.

If one is fat/sick, they should probably be getting their medical/diet advice from their doctor or an RD, not on the internet. Guess what? You don't have to cut out entire food groups in order to eat more fresh veg and fruit.

Just because someone is eating "paleo" (whatever that means), doesn't automatically create a calorie deficit. It's possible to gain weight eating any sort of "diet". Paleo or primal or whatever or low carb was a binge fest for me. I even binged on almond butter because that was primal. Paleo is not magic, it is…

yep. Are you losing weight? If not, you are eating at maintenance for your current weight.

I'm on my third pair of Mizunos and still loving them.

Running shoes are too expensive and don't have a long enough life span to "break-in". If I get blisters in new shoes, they go back to the store and I try a different brand. Get fitted for shoes at a running store. Usually they will allow you to test them and exchange them if they don't work. Also, cotton is rotten when it…

It's not necessary to drink a gallon of water daily. That could be messing with your hunger signals. Drink when you are thirsty only.

What huff post link? Do you know who Alan Aragon is?
-
Acg67 beat you to it and you both beat me. I was just going to post the same.

I couldn't do it without a weekly binge on top of my one "cheat" day. Eat more.
-
Please ignore this. The chance of you having celiac disease and not knowing is very slim. You need to eat and not restrict any food groups.
-
Didn't say I eat milk chocolate. I don't understand people that binge. If you're eating enough calories overall and eating a little bit of sugar when you want it, there would be no need. Your body isn't stupid and it actually likes sugar for fuel. Just have a bit.
-
I think I'll just eat some chocolate. There's nothing wrong with it.

Doesn't over estimate mine. You must not be doing it right.

Actually your TDEE is 2168 assuming you sit for 24 hours each day which I am sure you are not doing. Maybe you should recalculate? Your BMR is close to 1500 so truly you are under eating. Are you eating back exercise calories? http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced

Is orthoexia healthy? No. What happened to moderation?

I've been out in as cold as 21 degrees. I'm fine in sports bra, Nike hyperwarm long sleeve shirt, jacket on top of that, running tights, sometimes I'll wear shorts to have a second layer on my butt (it gets cold, I don't know why), gloves, and something to cover my ears and head. I don't even notice after 2 miles. Just…

Interesting. I had a huge difference between fitbit and body media. I thought the fitbit was really low, like 300-400 calories less than the body media daily. In the end, I'm sick of wearing all of the gadgets and nothing calculates the extra calories needed when lifting weights. I'm going with an estimate now because that…

Not sure how it could be 1000 over for you unless you forgot to click the female because the default is the male. On this calculator you are the one that puts in how much time each day you are doing each activity. it is the most specific calculator I have seen. It's been about equal to my body media fit.

Heavy lifting is not causing me any problems with training for my running goals. I like my muscle and bone density and would like to keep both. I lift heavy a few times per week, am gaining strength, and am doing a marathon training plan. Burpees never win in my world, deadlifts do. Maybe you should try "a little less…

Exactly what I was going to post. Love me some Alan Aragon.

Well, aren't you a peach?

To the OP- No http://www.alanaragonblog.com/2010/01/29/the-bitter-truth-about-fructose-alarmism/

I tried better-n-peanut butter once and promptly threw it in the trash. I only buy peanut butter if it has two ingredients, peanuts and salt. I usually have 1T at a time which I believe is a half serving and 95 calories.

Anyone that has ever worked in food service knows that most are gross. It's not just McDonalds and Pizza Hut.

Why did you post this? You know people around here are going to tell you it's a stupid idea. Hopefully you don't end up in the hospital. Come to think of it, this thread should be deleted for promoting unsafe behavior.
