thank you, I will re-evaluate after 10lbs :)
-
thank you! Do I worry about BMR at all? Do I use a calculator to figure that out?
-
I started using MFP's goals in July 2011, used until November and lost 10kg. Gained 5 of those back during November/December and just can't eat so few calories anymore :) I was always tired and didn't have much energy for exercising, so I think I need more fuel. I've been eating 500-1000 over the "lose 1 pound a week" MFP…

Thanks for your patience with me  I'm a bit of a nerd and I have to know everything and hear logical explanations, I hope I'm not being hopelessly annoying. I only thought that since I maintained my weight eating those calories for that period, my TDEE would surely be close to that number. Since equations work both…

ah I see where we misunderstand each other :) I didn't mean to include the measurements in the equations. My mistake, sorry! My "TDEE" is based on this: I calculated average calories in, week by week. That gave me 10 different daily values, so I took average of those 10 and that gives me 2740 calories consumed daily.…

Thanks for both your answers. I decided more info would be better than less, but I agree that frame size and BF don't really count here. UTR, I agree that maybe 120 calories isn't a big difference after all. How much is "a bit" when reducing? 200? :) secretlobster: My "TDEE" is basically an average based on my calorie…

Hi everyone :) I'm a 23 year old photographer from Iceland. I started on MFP in July 2011 at 140kg and started eating around 1800 calories I think. It then lowered with MFP as I lost more weight down to 1600. At that point I had lost 10kg and I was starving on 1600. November and December I tried to eat maintenance and…

I have to try this.. I can not brain today, so I assume the calories logged would just be the weight of the potato? :)
-
I'm 291 but started at 308 last July, I'm gonna do this now!
-
you look great mate, keep it up! Smiles are most valuable when they are rare anyway ;)
-
yes, I actually have. I'm a photographer and last year I lost 8kgs/ 17lbs and my photography gear backpack, when fully loaded actually weighs that. I live on the fourth floor (8th landing) and I could NOT believe how heavy that thing was! It was a real eye opener!
-
wow, awesome response guys! Thanks so much, I needed this and will accept anyone who's up for a supportive ride :)
-
Wow, amazing accomplishment! Thank you for inspiring me, I started at 308 and am currently down to 285 since July. I'm taking it slow (maintaining for now) and hoping I will be as lucky with my skin as you apparently are! :) Good luck on the rest and maintaining a healthier lifestyle :)
-
Do you wear make-up to the gym? You might be sweating with your make-up on and that makes your skin break out?
-
Bump! I'm Icelandic and I absolutely LOVE that skyr is finally taking on the rest of the world! :)
-
I've been thinking of wearing my HRM to see what my daily burn is.. Bump for later :)
-
you look awesome and the pics are really inspiring! And a two pound difference isn't really big, keep on dancing the booty dance ;)
-
Mirror Mirror on the wall I am my mother after all ;) happens to everybody I think, I'm 22 and I'm seeing it already! But it's for your health, so that's good!
-
I think that you will maybe notice the 1 pound gain yourself as you saw it on the scale, but I really don't think other people notice. Besides, a pound should be within normal fluctuation. Don't worry too much, just focus on eating right and being active :)
-
Don't worry about it, obviously he just didn't share your opinion and/or appreciate your supportive comments. I'm Icelandic, just to add perspective from another country and language, and I don't see anything wrong with using pet names for MFP's, friends or family. Although, it CAN be inappropriate and offensive, e.g. when…

I'm doing that already, so I'm just gonna keep at it :) thanks for the replies

I read more from the website and the only thing that seems believable on there to me is losing the weight in steps, giving your body time to adjust every xx kg's/lbs. Will try maintaining for 8 weeks and focus on strenght training from November 1st.
-
bumping in hopes of replies
-
that is a great nsv! your work is paying off, keep it up :)
-
it happens to me too :) my educated guess is that since we are exercising and sweating, the sweat is doing its job of cooling our skin down? it's perfectly normal :)
-
probably the best NSV I've seen on here :D awesome feeling, can't wait for it myself. Congrats and prepare for more ;)
-
Gemma, you look great! I hope you are very proud of yourself, and you are getting quite close to your first minigoal :) Your shape is also lovely and it will just get better! We can do this :)
-
What is your loss per week set to? If it's 1 lbs a week you could lower it to 0.5 lbs a week and gain some calories that way and still lose weight? It is slower, but if you are getting close to your goal you should slow your loss down anyway. Congrats on the loss so far and good luck :)
-
Everybody is different and some people need to gain to be healthier and more confident. I'll be happy to support you :)
-
Have you taken your measurements or do you have before pics? Maybe a comparison could help getting you upbeat again :) Last week was blaahh for me, but I was feeling ill and not eating well. Just push through it and try to realize what you have accomplished so far, it should lift your spirits a bit. Good luck!
