  • Believe it or not, it has been accurate for me. I think like any weight loss, everybody is different.
  • I actually actively look for men to friend just so I can get some specific advice for me. You do have to search though. Like if one responds to a posting, I'll hit them up just so I have a guy to ask stuff to. But for the most part I'm OK there are more women here because I relate to them better and feel I can be more…
  • You're looking at the only person on the planet who has never wanted any specific car. I mean, I'd take a Jeep, but if not, Ok......Just not important to me for some insane reason.
  • I have no idea where to log my stuff on which day because of the night shift thing. I want it to somewhat correlate to my food to that day's exercise but I always get confused how to log it and end up logging nothing :-( At least i'm thinking about it!
  • What I do for my 8 hour night shift is prepare my meals before I come in and portion them out throughout the night. I try to eat something at least every two hours and drink water throughout the night. Mostly I just lay out fruit on my desk and grab whatever I feel like eating at that moment. I also bring a main "meal"…
  • 1. Bohemian Like You * The Dandy Warhols 2. The Other Girls * The Vivian Girls 3. Meeting Across the River * Bruce Springsteen 4. Driving Your Girlfriend Home * Morrissey 5. South Carolina * Tennis 6. Interpol would work
  • Zero. That makes me EXTRA weird. Yeah, I guess I better get some.
  • Has anybody done the 100 pushups and/or situps in 30-days program? Does it work??
  • Holy cow, abby!! How did you advance so fast? That's amazing! I think there is some barrier that once you get past it your legs can just keep going....that's what I'm starting to learn. I just don't want to overtrain before my first race. I just want to see what I can do after it! A 10K is definitely possible for me now!
  • You are so right that the beginning is the hardest, especially mentally. I want to quit immediately and think what a crappy idea it was to even WANT to do that with my morning. Then when the auto pilot kicks in, I have now stopped at the 30-minute mark because I don't want to over-train for my first race. But I know once…
  • So great to hear about your training because it is good motivation. It is cooling down in Arizona so the runs are getting easier with the weather. I was even kind of cold the other morning. Hopefully I can get to where you're at one day! Keep letting us know about your progress.
  • I'm only up to 5K distance right now but I'm already getting that high and even blogged about it when it first happened....It is so great, isn't it??! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/lumberjacks94/view/runner-s-high-138517
  • Oh, great was this awkward for everybody to read??? Seriously though, thanks for the suggestions. I'm getting some Body Glide and better band aids today!
  • Thanks for understanding what I meant about the math comment....I also decided thinking of song lyrics as poetry in my head distracts me too... I KNOW my legs can do it. It's ALL in my head though....I have decided that's all it is.
  • I wish i could love Zumba but I'm a guy who can't dance....Tried it twice and just not for me....Burned a lot of calories though! I wrote about the experience in my blog if you're interested... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/lumberjacks94/view/is-zumba-better-than-a-roomba-132538
  • And one last thing I want to mention....I've learned running is the opposite of drugs. With drugs you get the high first, then the crash. With running you get the crash first, then the high. Much better don't you think?
  • And since then I have done it all four times I have tried it! I still have two weeks to go before my race and I am ready to go. My goal was also to break 30 minutes for the first one and I'm doing it in about 28 minutes during the training. I hope the adrenaline of race day and actually running along other humans will make…
  • I have been running for about a month now, training for my first 5K on October 1st. In my training, I felt I was accelerating greatly with the C25K program so one day I just decided to run as long as I could mentally take it before stopping. I went to the track at the nearby high school before school one day so I could…
  • I would think anything by Nirvana or Interpol would be good...You should also check out The Go! Team...i think they were formed just so people could exercise! lol
  • I am now driving to new locations near me to run by new things. And the amazing things that go through my head are ridiculous. I will pass a nice crossing guard who says hello to me and I think, "I should really volunteer more and help out the kids!" what the hell is going on with me!?!?! lol a 5K seems like just the…
  • Throw me in. It would nice for FB to be something that is actually productive and helpful.
  • I say all you can do is try and if you're in too much pain, don't push it. But you may feel ok and be glad you did it. Plus, the puppy wants to get out too so give it a try and see how it goes with a light walk!! And hopefully any fear of pain will go away too!
  • I am not a feamale but I have email. Oh and I live in Arizona too.
  • According to a story we put out on our wire tonight, no states had an obesity rate of 20-percent just 15 years ago. Today ALL states but Colorado are over 20-percent. Very bad trend..
  • Great ideas! You are right! how can you screw up a pretzel? Thanks for pointing out this stuff!!
  • That's great advice. My first response! Hopefully this forum will help make up the lack of funds for a personal trainer to ride my butt. But i just feel so much better after setting at a desk all night. The workouts make me fall asleep like a baby when I get home so at least that's working for me!
  • Hi, I'm looking to feel better during the day, have more energy, lose some weight and most importantly eat better. I don't even know where to start to eat better. So far this site is helping me during the day, plus the exercise makes me want to stay on course. Looking for support here to make sure I don't quit and keep…
