  • I hadn't even heard of the Body Media, it looks great, thanks for the suggestion.
  • I absolutely love them, so much in fact I recently became certified as an instructor. Most classes are about 50-60 minutes and make sure you get there a little early so the instructor can help you set up your bike for the first class. Since you sit differently on the bike than people are used to you can be a little sore…

  • Thanks everyone, I'll be sure to check these out.
  • Air popped pop corn or herbal tea
  • Always looking for more support, anyone can friend me :)
  • Well I have to say, I like those answers :) Happystars82, when I run or do a spin class I usually have a good 3-5 minute cool down where my heart rate goes to 50-60% and that is when I stop counting but I now everyone picks a different point.
  • HAHAHA I'm an Army wife fortunate enough to get to live in Germany :) Sure it can be hard but there are so many benefits the spouses get, some people just like to complain.
  • My diary is open to friends, feel free to add me.
  • I'm curious about this as well, I need something to add to my cardio other than just running. Do you need to alternate strokes?
  • You're doing better than me, I'm too afraid to buy it! I do agree though. Just try to set small targets in the beginning and work your way up. Maybe conquer the stretching one first or 30 minutes of the DVDs, then you can work your way up to doing the full program. Best of luck!
  • I've worked in reproductive health for a long time. The only contraception that has been clinically proven to have women gain weight is Depo-Provera (the shot). Implanon, like the Mirena IUD and other forms of hormonal birth control can sometimes make people feel like they are more hungry so they eat more or gain a slight…

  • You can often find p90X on ebay for much cheaper than buying it brand new and as long as you get it from a good sender you will get the same quality.
  • Feel free to add me, I'm not in the UK but I am in Europe
  • Depends on the day. When I go into work at my part-time job I go straight after work (5pm), the other half of the week when I volunteer it depends if there is a spin class I can make it to, I'll do whatever I can to do that and not have to run on the treadmill. On the weekend I usually go early in the morning otherwise…
  • I did a Kaplan prep course. Buying the book and doing the practice tests would have been just fine for the math and verbal practice but being in the course meant my writting was critiqued too. Some programs don't look at your verbal score so it is worth it to just do the practice tests.
  • I thought my self control with ice cream was bad, now I have a raging sore throat and its cold goodness is all that seems to make it better! Portion control barely exists, and of course I'm too sick to go running to burn off the calories :(
  • I definitely agree with the protein snacks after a work out. I love chocolate milk but if I'm on the run sometimes I have the skim milk string cheese and a piece of fruit. Larabars are also great snack options for when you know you are going to be out and about. They are made with unsweetened dried fruits and nuts, no…
  • I love it with garlic powder and use it as a dip for veggies, crackers or pita chips. So good with bell pepper or celery!
  • Thanks for all the support. As the day goes on I feel more like crap but I'm such a baby about being sick I didn't know if I was overreacting. I can't wait to go get back on the couch!
  • I used to go to Fleet Feet in California, they are really helpful.
  • I have the same issue! I think I managed to even move some of the fat from my chest to my inner thighs lol!
  • I know exactly what you're talking about! I love my hubs like crazy but he can eat for days and still look like someone is starving him! Fortunately he isn't so big into eating after dinner while watching TV (my big weakness) but when I get back from the gym and see him with a beer I just want to join in. He has gotten…
  • My first and only "ball" experience was when my husband was in ROTC lol! The ball for our battalion is soon but they only have so many tickets so not everyone that wants to go can. The few people we know aren't going so I'll be sitting it out, maybe I'll see if he wants to go to the ball when they return from deployment…
  • When my husband was told we were going to Germany he was stationed in Alabama and I was living in San Diego, that certainly made the medical screening fun. Since he's Army I'm sure some of the issues are different but the biggest thing that we had to keep in mind was that it took over a month for the paperwork to clear his…
  • I love Larabars, they only use unsweetened dried fruits and nuts so there are no added sugars, the apple pie is my favorite and the coconut cream pie is my dessert stand in! Cottage cheese with a little garlic salt and pita chips. Taziki sauce using low-fat greek yogurt on roasted chicken, grilled veggies, quinoa...my…
  • Sometimes I really like it with thin cucumber slices in it, very refreshing.
  • Thanks for the input, I would have not thought that too thin socks would have been an issue! I'm currently running with Asics but I guess it could be worth it to check out a running shoe store, now I just need to find one in Germany!
  • I definitely gain weight with stress. Whenever something is on my mind I tend to be far less mindful of my eating and my hips and waist just expand out!

  • Stir frys are amazing since you can adjust based on what veggies you have around. I make a sauce with soy sauce, sesame oil, a little chili oil, siracha and rice vinegar. Frittatas are also great since you can throw in a lot of veggies and are also great for breakfasts. I would suggest also looking at skinnytaste.com and…
