  • Dear 16 yr old me, At 25 you will look back at photos when you were 16 and think, Damn I was skinny! Why did I think I was fat then? At 35 you will look back at photos when you were 25 and think, Damn I was skinny! Why did I think I was fat then? At 45 you will look back at photos when you were 35 and think, Damn I was…

  • Day three of wheat free diet. Another pound gone. I am experiecing rapid weight loss for the first time in geez.....I dont' know how long! Years! After deciding to try going wheat free, I bought gluten free crackers today though....YUCK! I'm feeling my way through the diet changes but the fact that I have not had to give…
  • For those that expressed interest---- Day two of the wheat free diet produced another 2 lb weight loss. That's 6 lbs in 3 days! That's insane isn't it? I'm sure it will level off in another day or two but still.....6 lbs in less than half a week!??? Hmmmm........my husband might be on to something. Hasn't been that hard to…
  • You are singing my sad song. I had to have ovaries removed last year which threw me immediately into menopause. I could not believe how quickly I started gaining weight (especially around my middle) and I exercise heavily and eat "healthy". I have watched the scale inch up slowly and have upped the exercise and cut back…
  • I only have 7 I think. I try to encourage and be supportive to each one of them in their efforts on a daily basis, as I have found that motivation helpful to me. At one point I had a LOT of MFP friends and I just did not have the time to view food diaries and encourage each person. MFP started eating up too much of my…
  • You know, I'm actually very glad you asked this question cause I have been wondering about this myself over the last few days when I saw that show. Unfortunately, once I started researching it, I found that the ketone show was a rerun of an earlier one aired last year. Since I had not heard anything about this awesome…
  • The grunting doesn't affect me too much cause I wear headphones and try to ignore everyone. The only thing that drives me crazy is when the guys do not clear the machines of their massive amounts of WEIGHTS and I have to do it. Come on gentlemen, get a clue.......a 51 year old woman can not remove 300lbs of weights from…
  • Bump! I've heard about this "fake mashed potatoes" recipe for years but never believed it would actually be as good as mashed potatoes. I am going to try it though based on all the positive feedback here. Thanks for sharing! You've finally motivated me to give it a shot!

  • I'm 51! Add me. I had really good success with MFP last year but Christmas came and stress arrived and I literally opened the kitchen cabinets and tilted everything in them directly into my mouth. So.......limping back with new resolve. Sure could use some support and encouragement and I will return the same!
  • Oh and I was attracted by the "y'all". I'm a southern girl too and there is nothing like the enticement of Southern food!!!! All y'all know that!!
  • Add me too! I have about 20 to lose. I was doing really well and then folded like a cheap suit over the holidays and ate like a starving dog. I'm back with a new committment! I can use some more friends.
  • Boy but can I relate to the above two posts!! I was on such a roll weight loss wise, and then the holidays hit and I did what I said I wouldn't and geez.......scales look ugly!!! Need to lose about 20 lbs now. I also lost about half of my MFP friends who I noticed had deleted me when they saw I had stopped checking in…
  • Thanks for the feedback everyone. It seems the majority of you notice quite a difference when it comes to getting in that exercise for the day. If I learned anything today its that the mental high is a better motivator to 'get out there' than the physical fitness aspect of working out. It made such a difference for me…
  • Awesome photo!! I feel like I could just grab one right off the screen. Gonna try these out. Thanks!
  • Unconditional Love.
  • I hate clowns. (Probably cause I was married to one once.) Not a real clown......just a.....you know......screw up. But I hate real clowns too. Clowns scare the crap out of me. That clown Pennywise.........geez.......I still haven't gotten over that movie.......
  • You planted such a negative image of sweets over-indulgence in my head so well, that now I am craving a salad for lunch today. I do not think that has ever happened before. Thanks!!!! I owe ya'!!!!
  • Your story touched me and I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have tried to imagine that kind of loss before and I am not sure I would have the strength to find my way out of the fog. I admire you greatly for attempting to move that pain into a positive place of greater health. I wish you every success and send every hope…
  • I'm 50 but I read your profile and we share much in common. I've been at MFP a little longer than you so I'm pretty close to my goal. BUT I can tell you its taking longer to get off the remaining weight than it was to take off the majority of it early on. So if you want to be diet buddies, I think we are pretty much…
  • I'm not certain but I would guess that the fiber swells as it absorbs fluid and you need to have extra fluid to keep things "moving" along.
  • CEDARHURST......With recipes like that, I want to be your MFP friend. Wow but that sounds good! I make an awesome meatloaf now but I never thought about putting lowfat cheese in the center! Wow!! Just think of the variations! Maybe add some diced peppers, onions and cheese in the center too. Wow.. Thanks for that post!
  • Nothing wrong with a little friendly correction. Besides, maybe he really did mean "loosing" weight. As in his clothes are fitting loose now!
  • Shooting for 5 lb. loss by Oct 1st. Got to get these extra few pounds off before the annual "Stuff a Fest" begins on Halloween and continues through New Year's!
  • I too lost 28 lbs on WW 6 years ago. Matter of fact, I did it 4 times! I finally realized I appear to simply be incapable of maintanance (for some stupid reason) on the WW program. So......switched to MFP and loving it much more. Its something about hitting those numbers that keeps me enthused and I love the support here!!…
  • I know exactly what you are going through! I had to have both of my ovaries removed last year because they started malfunctioning and producing testosterone in massive amounts. The only solution was to remove them and yes, immediate menopause. (Still have my uterus.) I dealt with a number of menopausal issues as a result…
  • Oh thanks! Well that explains that!! But regardless, I think its just simple courtesy to say SOMETHING about why you want to add a perfect stranger as a friend. I have never made a friend request to anybody without stating where I saw their profile and why I think we have something in common. Its usually that they are in…
