  • This was what I was going to say, my partner has lost a bit of weight recently and I'd started to notice it a little in his face but I noticed even more when he started wearing clothes that were smaller, before he was wearing t-shirts that were baggy to start with so it was harder to notice the weight loss :)
  • I use this recipe a lot to make veggie fried rice: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1088653/spicy-vegetable-egg-fried-rice I usually skip out on the eggs and when I log it it comes in around 275 calories :) Goes nicely with a marinated chicken breast or one with chinese style spices rubbed onto it.
  • I'm curious as to what source you have to say that your brain can run on ketone bodies? Whilst I don't always believe what I read on the internet I tend to believe what my lecturers taught me and we were taught that your brain needs glucose for energy.
  • I'm 5'9 and started out at 213lbs, currently at 195lbs and aiming for around 161lbs which is at the higher end of the normal range but I don't think I'd look healthy any smaller than that :) And as for body shape I've always had a tummy that sticks out (partly because I have a fairly prominent curve in my spine) but I also…
  • Not meant to have caffiene (Dr's orders!) and occasionally I want some coffee so I go for decaff :)
  • Gluten isn't everyone's devil though, I went gluten free for a couple of weeks and noticed no change in anything so I started eating it again (admittedly I probably have less than I used to cause I don't have much bread or pasta anymore) cause well it's in a lot of tasty stuff!
  • http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20005157 Edit: Argh, I want to go grab some chocolate/crisps from the tuck box so bad! I don't need the calories though, I think I'm just hungry out of boredom.
  • Only 2 hours or so to go now, depending on when the grumpy security guy turns up!
  • I'd much rather be doing something, when you have too little to do the time goes by so slowly!
  • My problem is that it's too quiet at work! I'm temping on the quietest reception desk ever! I think the person who normally does the job also does building management stuff but all I get to do is sit here and answer the phone (which rings about 4 times a day if that) and get visitors to sign in.
  • So what are everyone's weekend plans? I have a brass band rehearsal after work (yep I'm a band geek) and then off to go spend the weekend at my boyfriend's which I'm looking forward to as not seen him properly in the last couple of weeks.
  • That's not interesting! But yes I sympathise with all of you who have much longer left in your day.
  • Ooh, I haven't seen that one yet, I saw an advert for Cadbury's Bubbly Mint or some similar name on the way to work this morning and had similar feelings!
  • I try not to be one of those girls! I do know some people who I think wear too much makeup though, BUT I accept that that is their choice and I have never commented on it. Sometimes I think it is a shame though, there's this one girl I know who looks sooo much nicer when she wears minimal make up compared to the amount she…
  • I eat three meals a day and normally try to get two or three snacks in as well, but like others have said I don't think it really matters what time you eat. My personal reason for trying to eat smaller portions more regularly is to try and control digestive system issues I have.
  • I think I fit most of those, feel free to judge whether I do or not and if I do send me a request. I'm in the UK, I very rarely make comments about fruit/veg and water and when I do it's because it's something I've noticed over a long period of time and am concerned for the person, I exercise sometimes but am not as good…
  • Heya, Cardiff here, any other UK people feel free to add me as well :)
  • beautiful island
  • A lovely guy who's a bit "alternative"/geeky
  • Weight can fluctuate and it's only 0.6lbs gained so isn't a massive gain, I can't see your diary so can't see if maybe you're taking in too much sodium or drinking too little water - if either of those is the case your body could be retaining water. Or it could be water retention due to hormonal changes. I wouldn't worry…
  • When you grill the chicken breast you are losing some of the weight from the liquid coming out of the chicken, this liquid doesn't have any significant calorific value, if you scroll up in this thread there was a poster who explained it much better than me but say you take your 100g of raw chicken and it's 120 calories…
  • Subway - Teriyaki chicken on honey oat with mayo and a whole bunch of salad McDs - Sweet chilli chicken deli wrap or if it's breakfast time then a breakfast wrap KFC - Popcorn chicken or a zinger tower burger Greggs - Sausage, cheese and bean melt or a ham and cheese melt or a chicken bake, or basically anything savoury…
  • To get my PhD studying museums and then either be an academic researching this area and doing a bit of teaching or doing evaluation work for museums (for the second option possibly see if I could do this on a more freelance basis so I could travel a bit and visit different museums).
  • I can think of things that I could tell myself, but when I think about it I don't know how that would impact on my life right now, there are some things in my life that I'm very happy with (my partner, my education) and I wouldn't want to risk those :)
  • I assume you mean Crohn's? Personally I have no experience of it but as it's an IBD part of the testing would involve checking for inflammation in the gut. Have you had a colonoscopy or any other tests for gut inflammation? (There's a blood test that just shows up inflammatory markers for inflammation anywhere in the body…

  • Snuggled up with my boyfriend rather than on the bus to work. Preferably in a bed in a nice hotel somewhere interesting with good food so we could go exploring when we woke up.
  • Just sat and read this thread at work and I have a massive smile on my face, all your NSVs are awesome! :) Mine: - Yesterday I couldn't wait to get out of work and go to the gym, okay yes I still had some anxiety when I got to the gym (damn those skinny blonde women who kept exercising next to me) but I wanted to go there…
  • Maybe a panic/rape alarm for scaring anyone off/attracting help?
  • Hi, feel free to add me, I'm just switching to having 1800 cals on a non-exercise day and having 2100 on an exercise day (was on the 1800 cals before but have only just started adding in a bit of strength training). So far I've been losing weight at a rate of 1lb per week on average and that's about the rate I want to…
