  • Thank you, that makes sense!
  • Thanks for the replies. . Ok, great. . I'll just carry on doing what I was doing before and ignore the numbers..it certainly feels like I'm working hard so I'll just go by that!
  • Thanks for your reply! So I'm not burning less calories than before then? I thought your HR had to be in a certain range to be effective.. mine pretty much stayed around 100 the whole time so my calorie burn looked pathetic!
  • Thanks so much for posting this..I had a baby 5 months ago and have been looking for a good routine I could do at home! Started today and loved it..Think my arms will be sore tomorrow :) x
  • Great, thank you! I've downloaded the pdf so will have a read before I order the book x
  • I was the same as you as well! I started running and my HR would often get up to 185..It scared me so I went to the Docs. He said he thought it was fine but would send me for an ECG anyway, just to be sure..All came back fine so I don’t worry about it any more..When Im doing HIIT it often hits 180 but soon goes back down…
  • Sorry to gatecrash the thread but would strength training be ok? i.e squats, lunges, deadlifts etc..It seems to be high impact cardio, jumping and things that aggravates mine..
  • Hey! I don't have any advice but I have exactly the same problem! Mine started doing Insanity...I figured its because its a lot of impact on the calves and in the warm up and cool down no calf stretches are included so I've started adding my own and also using a foam roller. Its helping a bit, I am still getting twinges…
  • Hi, Good luck with starting, I am just about to start month 2 and I love it! With regards to diet, when you say food on the go, Do you mean snack ideas or lunch ideas? What time of day are you planning to do the workouts? I do mine 1st thing when I get up before work so I don't eat beforehand.. Afterwards I have a protein…
  • Wow busy thread, there are a lot us Brits here! I’m looking for some new active friends too as my amount of active friends has seriously dwindled! I’m on and log every day and I’ve been at it nearly 2 years now! So bit of an old timer really!
  • I don't have anything constructive to add but just wanted to say I'm in exactly the same boat! I've been gaining and losing the same 2lbs for the last 5 months, its so frustrating! Ive got about 5 more pounds to lose in total but they are just not shifting! My body fat ratio is still fairly high so I know I've still got…
  • http://www.majorseries.com/ This look so fun! I may have to enter this... Been looking for something like this locally to me and this looks perfect, so thanks for posting!
  • I may also be on round 2 then! I'm half way through my first month and I LOVE it! I have to modify it a little due to joint problems but its such a great workout and I feel amazing afterwards! Yes its very hard but you can go at your own pace and build up...I haven't seen any results yet but I its still early days and my…
  • Hi Everyone, Can I join this please? I have just completed the 1st week of Insanity and I'm really enjoying it! I obviously can't keep up yet and I do have to have a few extra breaks but I feel this is such a step up from what I was doing before! Like lots of others, Pure cardio is my favourite so far! and Cardio recovery…
  • If you've got the app it does all the hard work for you, so you set it and it will tell you what do to do but basically you do 1 rep, rest for the amount of time it took you to do 1 rep, Do 2 reps, Rest for the amount of time it took you to do 2 reps, then repeat for 3 and 4 reps and then when it gets to 4 reps it counts…
  • Thank you, I will do that.. I have always had a bit of a weakness with my lower back but I can do most exercise without a problem, knees Ive never had an issue with until now.. so hopefully it is just a form problem..
  • Thanks for your replies, I use dumbells at the moment I use 7lb ones but these are too light for me now so I do have some adjustable dumbells that go up to 45 pounds. I normally have them out in front of me or rest them on my shoulders, or just have them close to my chest, it varies… I always do check that my knees are…
  • Thank you both… Maybe I will invest in a Polar or put it on the Christmas list! I don’t really have a plan with eating or not eating my exercise cals back at the moment, Its something im trying to figure out at the moment, what will work best for me. Ive hit a bit of a plateau, so Im trying to mix things up a bit to see…
  • 2.5lbs in 3.5 weeks is great! Sometimes I would only lose a pound a month! It took me a year to lose the weight I needed to… weight loss is not an overnight thing, you need to have patience. The slower you lose it, the longer it will stay off..It cant be a quick fix.
  • It is hard, very hard. When my alarm goes off at 5:45 every morning to exercise, I often ask why am I doing this, I could have another hour at least in bed! Even when I'm working out I think why am I doing this!! But I do it because I know how rubbish I feel if I don’t, it helps me with so much in my life, not just being…
  • My Face was the first place I lost it...Same with my Husband.. I don't have any before and after face shots but its quite noticeable.. annoying thing is i hate my nose and I just think it makes it more pronounced now i have a thinner face ha! never happy!!
  • Wow, you look amazing! Well done, very impressive..you must be very proud!
  • I’ve lost 32lbs steadily in the past year..What did it for me – a mix of running/walking, swimming, zumba, pilates and strength training. I also tried to eat as little processed food as I could and I cut back on refined carbs..Not cut them out altogether but switched to wholemeal bread and pasta…I think the variety of…
  • You probably have more than enough friends now but feel free to add me if you want another!
  • I’m 35 and am probably the happiest with my weight/body now than at any age!! Yes its been a hard slog but I think I appreciate my body and health much more now I am a bit older and possibly a little wiser!
  • Hiya and welcome! I’m from the UK too, nice to see some more British faces! You absolutely can do this, don’t feel disheartened that you haven’t lost anything yet, It took me about a month before I started losing any weight and seeing results.. It is unfortunately a lot to do with diet, about 80% diet and 20% exercise! I…
  • Hiya, well you have come to the right place! I have lost 30lbs since joining MFP, its great to work out exactly what you are eating in a day and where you need to make changes...Also the forums are great for advice on everything! Adding friends is good too so you can motivate each other! Good luck, you can do it :-)
