  • What do you consider high protein? Just curious because everyone has a different opinion on that it seems.
  • What is your diet like?
  • So you are using dumbbells for the kettlebell exercises? Kettlebells are awesome for building dense muscle BUT you are going to need to work up to heavier weights for that to happen. I guess it really all depends on what you are trying to get out of these workouts. You say your focus is glutes and abs but what are you…
  • How heavy is the kettlebell you are using?
  • I have a desk job as well, isn't it boring? In the last few months I make a point to do 2-4 little walks during the day instead of taking coffee breaks. Typically I walk to the end of the hallway, up the remaining flights of stairs, all the way down to the basement, all the way back to the top and then down to my floor and…
  • If this is something you are going to do to get your heart rate up for a couple minutes if you've been sitting for a period of time at work or whatever sure but otherwise I'd say there are way better options out there. What are your goals? Your profile is closed and I'm assuming that isn't you in the picture ;)
  • Feel free to add me if you'd like. I am also a single mother :)
  • I work out every day at work on my lunch break and not once have I ever showered. I wipe down, use deodorant, dry shampoo and body spray if necessary. I haven't received any complaints yet. I don't want to waste my workout time in the shower!
  • I mostly just walked through my pregnancy but I had friends that said swimming felt so good because they couldn't feel the weight of the baby as much (during the third trimester). Most importantly, just listen to your body and you doctor I think.
  • I'm not sure if it would cause back problems to have the weight on your shoulders but I know if I have the bar on my shoulders they do get tight. I rest the bar more on my traps, it's a nice cushiony spot.
  • Fruit is my favourite carb! I also really like plain rice cakes with peanut butter on them. Not much nutrition in the rice cake but it's more to add the little bit of crunch to the PB. Sweet potatoes are delicious but not a great on the go type snack.
  • I typically put everything in as circuit training if it is some type of aerobic activity. Just know that if you aren't using a heart rate monitor the number MFP or the machines give you is likely overestimated.
  • I put it in my greek yogurt. Soooooo goood!

  • I'm 5'5" and 140 pounds. Regardless of your body composition you are not considered overweight. If you are exercising and not seeing the results you want you should take a look at what you are eating. Try not to let other people's harsh comments change how you feel about yourself.

  • I almost always work out on an empty stomach. Cardio is typically easier to do, strength is sometimes a struggle. I think as long as you know your body and watch your cues you should be fine. Typically there are warning signs before someone faints. Bring a snack if this is something you are worried about.
  • I have terrible shin splints but I find if I do a really good warm up that seems to help. I find the best warm up is either using a rowing machine or walking uphill. Good shoes are a definite must. I would definitely go to your local running store (as others have suggested) and try some on and get their advice. Most will…
  • Not sure what you added to your meatloaf but I would just make hamburger patties instead. I would also personally cut out the bacon and cottage cheese because they are typically loaded in sodium which could be contributing to water weight gain. If you are trying to stay at 50g of carbs it is going to be really difficult to…
  • I eat canned tuna every once in awhile and I just asked my co-workers if the smell bothered them before I did it the first time. I workout during my lunch break so I eat at my desk but I offered to go elsewhere if they found it bothersome. I think if you are eating at a work space it is polite to ask but if you are eating…
  • I love vega. True, it is not as tasty as some protein powders but the Vega One has probiotics in it which are great for you. For Vega One I like the coconut almond flavour. I also really like the new formula of the Vega Sport in mocha. I live in Canada and lean meat is pretty pricey. Supplementing with 1-2 shakes makes…
  • I have to use 2 scoops to make the C4 worth my while
  • It is actually sort of a reverse pike I guess. Lie on your back with your arms and the ball up at the top of your head and slowly meet your feet and hands together in the middle. Ab wheels are a pretty cheap investment, I think I found mine for $12.
  • Do I dare to even weigh in on another sugar forum topic...
  • Have you tried an ab wheel? Or doing pikes using a medicine ball? I do those two thing's a couple times a week and my abs scream at me after.
  • I like ON Amino Energy as a mild preworkout. If I need a stronger one, the best one I've found is C4 but it isn't the best tasting. I wouldn't recommend the watermelon flavour. There is a strawberry one and a lemonade one that are decent.
  • Sweet potato!
  • No I'm not. My original comment wasn't really about the OP post it was about whether or not you should track sugar. Lots of people aren't aware of the amount of sugar that is in thing's like fruit. My point was just that sugar is sugar no matter the source.
  • A "healthy individual" as one person mentioned doesn't necessarily mean someone that is following a healthy diet.
