I currently run in a pair of brooks pure cadence2's and I love them. However I'm looking at getting a pair of newtons, just want peoples opinions on the shoes in general and if anyone else has had the same shoe as me and gone to newtons. tia.

hydration pack/vest for females
I love trail running. Must of my trail running has been short (under 10km) but lately I have be doing a lot longer trail runs ( 9 to 20km). I have a standard hydration pack that I use for hiking. The only problem is that the shoulder straps are not designed for running, and I get chaffing on my neck (only on one side).…

Spartan Melb 2014
Yes I'm posting for a race that is next year. If you would like to do the Spartan Sprint Race on May 31st 2014 you can register for $70 providing that you do so b4 11pm 8th October. I will be doing it. And I"m excited. It's not like Tough Mudder (which I've done), the obstacles are a lot harder, and if you fail to do an…

1h45m
So last week I ran my 3rd half marathon. (1st for the year). I ran it in a time of 1h52m35s. It was a flat course. Didn't really go out hard and fast, just wanted to run it. (as it was the 1st time I did this course). Now I was briefly talking to a fellow running friend (retired from running now), and he said I should aim…

nike + friends
anyone here use nike + I know it's not accurate, (well not for me, but I run with my garmin anyway), but I use it for the music feature. Anyway, feel free to add me matilda_i is me, and that's an underscore _ I need more (esp female) runners/supporters/motivators.

Runner Academy
Anyone listen to their podcast? I do and think it's fantastic. I've gotten so much out of it, so I thought I would share. http://runneracademy.com/

socks
I need better socks... but it's most likely my shoes (i got them at a running specialist store). On my long runs (i'm talking 10km +) I get blisters (always in the same spot). If I tape up my foot prior, no blisters, but if I forget blisters. So I'm just wondering what socks does everyone use to help prevent blisters.

2013 running goals
so what are your running goals for 2013? well I would like to run at least 3 half marathons. I have one paid for already. Just need to decide on the other 2. I would also love to run at least 7 organised fun runs. I have 2 planned already. one of those being a half. And a few pb's would be great too. what about you all.

garmin vs other gps device
I currently have a garmin 405cx. It has however cracked the sads yet again. I bought it 2nd hand, so I knew there was a possibility that it may not last long. It's lasted me 10 months. It's not charging very well, and then half way through a run, it will just shut down, even though it may be fully charged. So I'm thinking…

What to wear for tough mudder
I have my 1st tough mudder on saturday (melbourne, and it summer time). I plan on wearing dry fit clothing but I'm umming and arghing if I should wear tights (3/4), bike shorts or normal shorts. So this question is for those that have done a tough mudder in summer and female. What did you wear, and what wouldn't you wear.…

Paces
Does anyone know how one becomes a pace runner? I'm interested in being a pace runner for a half marathon. I've emailed the event that I'm interested in being a pacer for, but also want to know if there is anything I should else I should find out.

Yes I eat crap sometimes, but I log it. I'm at my goal weight. (well at my set point weight at least). I run, I cross train (i'm currently in training for…

recovery program
So I'm currently doing insanity asylum / running hybrid, in the lead up to me doing tough mudder (19th Jan 2013). I do plan to do chalene extreme after I finish what I'm doing now, but I would like to give my body a decent rest (about 3 weeks) of low intensity program. So what do you suggest?

I plan on doing p90x/asylum/run hybrid, then asylum, but that still only get's me to xmas eve. so should i…

Your next race
When and where is it. And why are you doing it? My next fun run will be in October. It's 'Run Ballarat' 12km long. I'm hoping to do it in under 63mins. Money raised goes to the children's hospital in Ballarat. After this one, I wont be doing any more (unless something comes up that I like) until next year. As I want to get…

Why do you run?
I'm curious as to why everyone runs? Me? Well I run because I love how it makes me feel. It really helps to clear my head/mind. It has also helped me in cardio endurance, and vice versa. Now some other questions. -what shoes are you running in? -do you own any compression wear? -run with music or without? -fav after run…

cross training shoe recommendation
I love running, and I use my ascis kayano's specifically for running. (I own 2 pairs, that i rotate). On the days I don't run, I cross train. P90x, insanity, turbofire, so lots of lateral movement. I currently own nike free 2 which I love, but I've had them over a year now, and I'm really feeling that they are not giving…
